stage 8, being so gud, you use the mastery to help others. you've matured beyond the smug stage 7 and have moved on to stage 8: Wise Sensei. A veritable guru, your sage advice helps other players along their way, such that they can get the most out of the game.
Is Stage 9 when you go on RU-vid and discover some people have gitted so gud that they now entertain themselves by beating the game with novelty console peripherals from the 1980s or with controllers made entirely out of sliced potatoes?
And finally stage 10...Japanese Gud. Where some 10yr old kid has done what the stage 9 noobs have done but complete the game in under 1hr in an internet cafe. It's a stereotype I know but god damn so many of those peeps be unreal. Different level of determination.
Erianna-3 i suppose there is also stage 9, when you already long gone for other games, still have all the knowledge, platinum, and tricks, but none of muscle memory, being suck again like noob again, and wonder how you achieve platinum at that time, lol
@@sephandremanticore5438 you didn't try Tekken with a mouse n keyboard did you? Because that just sounds nightmarish... kinda like trying an RTS without a mouse n keyboard.
I was born in a time where street fighter dint have online mode , i was the king around my zip code area , it all changed when they had the first's SF online.
Well the stage of going online, while having strolled through the Expert and Hardcore modes of the story part of the game is according to me the most gruesome... I had no clue people were using Aim-bots while playing multi-player FPS and really felt disappointed at myself for having been, not as much of a Hardcore player as the Story mode suggested...^^
The number of times the number of players in Destiny 2 who have told me to "git gud." All I ever responded was "gud advice." One noxious troll actually shot back "take it."
Because competitive is a totally different beast from noncompetitive; it actually requires a HELL of a lot of foresight and planning, both micro and macro, and mindgaming, along with encyclopedic knowledge of the game's physics and glitches. Can't handle the word "tactic" or see how a certain technique could be useful? Well, for now, you stay worse than bad.
Guess you havent reached that stage yet. Once you know you are fighting a ping paladin you can match your skill with their ping. As in do what you normally would, but then one second earlier or later, depending on their ping ofc. Also, stop using lock on against them. Hope this helps
Happened for me with Martyr Logarius from Bloodborne: he must have killed me like 30 times b4 I rage quit. Came back to the game a week later and beat him first go.
@@Kalypso_Belador I was so lucky on that Bucking fastard he got caught on a chimney on the roof went ham downed him 1st try felt really underwhelming kinda hollow victory especially after the wet nurse and Amygdala ruined me multiple times not to forget the sodding moon presence.
Stage 8: You get defeated by someone of comparable skill, and rather than get angry, you feel that it was an honor to compete with someone of your caliber, maybe greater than you, and salute them in spirit.
You missed the stage where once your Gud with a game, that it feels like cake walk on the highest difficulty to you when replaying it, almost like your not trying at all.
Until you get to stage 7.5 where you try online multi-player and run into people who also wipe the floor with everything and every one... except other human opponents.
Great Fri Feature Rob, and excellent content all around lately. X-com 2 and Rocket League (things I'm not usually that into) have been really amazing. You guys are in top form. --- To the Mystery Stream!!
Dear Rob as some one who just beat oxide final ghost on dragon mines like 10 minutes ago I highly recommend taking the shortcut with a speed character makes it way easier to be caught up with him
Ah this reminded me of oldschool gaming when some games required at least stage 4 to even beat the first level. Beating a game wasn't just an experience it was an achievement in itself.
So true So true. Every stage. Only I never give up for good. I do know the agony of getting Gud. I've had my share. Brilliant. Great video Rob as always.🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳♥️♥️♥️♥️
I just wanted to say awesome picture it reminds me of when GoW (Dad of Boi) first released and i finally bought my copy of it and began my journey of "Gitting gUd" though i never made it to the U but i still feel happy that i beat the Queen on hard mode
Sometimes this happens. There are some games we can never be even competent at, no matter how hard we try; on the plus side, there are some games that we find ourselves amazing at even though we just started. At one point I was third in the world at Maro Kart DS without having even sunk 100+ hours into the game. But I have never, ever been able to do anything aside from suck, in any FPS or RTS I have ever played.
Love this kind of content !! Its a gem in youtube, real gamer doing real content of game, which real gamer can really relate to, keep up the great videos guys !!
Suddenly after years of training and long gruesome battles, you awaken the seventh sense and now you can fully control your gaming "cosmo", that is is the stage 7, when you go beyond the elite level, it enables a being to perform extraordinary feats, just like when Daigo did that awesome parry moment at evo 2004
When you're nearly in tears on happiness when you finally executed lady butterfly after 3hrs of countless attempt.. But then she says " Impressive boy " ..
Another master piece Rob. I had to git gud when I went for the platinum on kill zone shadowfall. The campaign was easy but those online trophies were so draining, I grinded for months till I eventually heard the blissful ping of that trophy pop.
7th Stage for Nascar Heat 3 Finally found a setup for each track in all series. Got Gud and contend for every W offline 105 difficulty and Online PVP multiplayer. Multiplayer is the hardest because it is a not clean racing, it's a battleroyal demolition derby imo, survival & skill is key for victory. 500+ online wins and proud of it
Personally with some games I have a stage in between 4-5 that I like to call “Hitting refresh”. It’s where I get so frustrated that I’m competent but not improving that I quit it and wait for a bit before picking it back up. This amount of time can range from overnight to a month later. When I come back I suddenly can succeed. It’s happened many many times.
I see what you did there. Showing Vordt footage because you probably never got beyond this point (staying true to the noob lore) but the weapon art of his great hammer is perseverance. Well done.
and who say stage 7 is no fun?, most of my games i am ok with stage 3, but there is a few i get most of the fun once i reach stage 7 one example is the Monster Hunter series, the feeling of execute a perfect hunt you know what the monster will do before they even start doing it, and the feeling of making a really hard figth look like it was nothing, at least for me thats fun.
@@cuentaalterna3754 If you like to spend and dedicate a lot of time for one game. I prefer to move on then exaust myself and experience negative feelings of failing.
@@elcrest1536 i respect your opinion about not wanting to expend more time that need it to finish a game, but i think you fail much more the first time you play the game than when you try to master the game.
Friday features are just masterpieces aren't they? That little bit if joy that you know it's gonna pop up on Friday and you'll hear rob chime in. Truly captivating every week.....even on things I don't usually care about.
Seeing Headless from Sekiro again gave me chills. I was so creeped out by those things, but I ended up really loving finding out HOW to freaking kill those monsters. The first kill was such a rush!
Online trophies are the worst. specially at games that are like 95% single player and doing the online stuff can be pretty much impossible.... looking at you ghostbuster (PS3) and Digimon cyber sleuth -_-
I don't mind online trophies as long its progression based reach rank 50 or something like that, no matter how bad you are you'll get it eventually. The trophies I hate are the really situational ones, get 3 triple kills back to back in mid air whilst using your fists also you must do a backflip.
Stage 8 is just an addiction to gitting gud one that makes you play all your games at the hardest settings in a hope of reaching that blissful feeling of being challenged and gitting gud again.
Unless you play elder scrolls pvp, then it takes 30 players to zerg you down and the rando that showed up for the end and never hit you gets theor bags in lmao
@@ThePokestopPapi Well... mercy is for the weak. Thus to hold back in PvP implies that you think your opponent is unworthy of your attention. Thus you must destroy them as hard as you can for to do otherwise is an insult. :D
Has Rob ever done a 7 stages of gaming rage? Mine would be: 1. Wry grin in appreciation of a difficult game 2. Sharp intakes of breath when almost achieving something 3. Puffing out cheeks 4. Loudly sighing to myself 5. Growling and hitting a nearby cushion 6. Shouting 'why' and slapping the floor 7. Switching off the Playstation
If you need some help Oxide's Ghosts, Penta Penguin is a pretty good time trial driver (unlock: Hold L1 and R1 and press Down, Right, Triangle, Down , Left, Triangle, Up)
I get to stage 5 at least regularly. This is the definition of an above average gamer. PvP in games you're a contender but there'll still be people better than you here an there, but pve wise you've got more than enough to have fun with. It doesn't really matter what stage you're at though. It just matters if you're wearing a smile whatever, or however you're playing 🙂
The 7 stages of watching Rob’s Friday Features. 1. One appearing on your home page 2. Watching a couple more 3. Getting hooked and binge watching all of them from the beginning 4. Scheduling in time every weekend to watch the latest FF 5. Start commenting 6. Start saying “hello, you caught me” in your everyday life 7. Getting into Delsin Rodent conspiracies
Every game that I haven't tried to "git gud" in, but have just been really into and kept on playing out of sheer joy, I've gotten really gud at. Every game that I intentionally try to "git gud" in, I never really get gud in.
To be fair tho you can get juggel by those weapons alot i have went from 1st to 8th place by continuesly being hit by bombs shields rockets or masks or anything, but thats whats so Fun tho you can be gud and still getting trashed by noobs cuz they have Lucky box draws and yours suck (looking at you beakers and tnts)
Platinum Deadlocked (ie get the Ninja Ratchet skin) and you will be a god in R&C games by default because you have mastered every non-game-specific mechanic in the series. Or just get the skill point for beating the final arena battle in Crack In Time without being hit once.
OR you play fighting games and will be made to look and feel like a noob for the rest of your life.........once you pass stage 7, you reach stage 8 "There is no such thing as 'gud'; only different levels of scrub."
I'm like rob. I never finished any souls game yet. I don't like a challenge in games. I like relaxing, easy games that i play through without investing a ridiculus amount of time in it. But this video encouraged me to download dark souls again to give it another try.
Don't get flustered and just immerse yourself. The games are extremely rewarding, and you will git gud and you'll wonder how you found them that bad in the first place. Sekiro is great too.
I have a "mad gamer crush😍" on you Rob. Your love & passion for gaming is so apparent in every video you make & I so look forward to your Friday Features...even if I can't always watch them on Friday.
I believe it is hard but it’s also more of a learning gap, you just have to play it for a while and you’ll get good at it, it’s more of just a patience game, it’s very hard to pick up I actually quit the game for a year but I came back to it and beat it although nameless king took me quite a while to beat because he kills you in about two hits most of the time
@@cuentaalterna3754 Ds3 is harder than Des, Ds1,Ds2(base) and BB. The only games harder than Ds3 are Ds2 SotFS and Sekiro. And I finished all of these games more than ten times each so I know what I am talking about.
Here's an idea, Rob, maybe it interests you, too: 7 games that came up with something completely new. Like, Dark Souls spawned a whole genre, Minecraft is unique... What interests me is not new technical stuff, but a new idea of what could be a game and what the background was against which a game like that is brilliant!
Does retro games count? My best is Sly Cooper 1-4. Is it weird for a girl to play these games at least 200+ times over and over lol. I enjoy the story and gameplay, if Sly had multiplayer I'd be in the top 5, waiting for Sly 5!
Not at all. Heck, I would argue loving a game is the best motivation to complete /platinum a game. At least that's how I decide if I gonna for 100% or not ^^
I have to say I'm a stage 7 for God of War. Did a blind playthrough on Give me God of War difficulty, got the platinum on a single playthrough, and beat the game again on Give me God of War+ when new game+ came out. I can not explain how good it feels to beat Sigrun and have all of the in-game rewards the game gives you for beating it on the hardest possible difficulty.
I watched and translated this video to real life skills; i.e, socialising, riding a bike, doing a job, playing music etc etc. Where there's an actual lasting and beneficial sense of achievement and worth. This list is relevant all-round. Persistence is key.
You probably already know this but, worth a shot Dragon Mines: During the first part of the lap on lap 1, you’ll want to slide boost as much as possible. You’ll then come across a small water puddle; which you’ll want to go over it while spamming R1 to keep as much speed as possible. Then you’ll want to continue slide boosting until you reach the hard turning spiral section. For the spiral section, you’ll want to jump turn with the use of R1 and Square. This will allow you to turn around this section easier and keep some speed during this section. This is the one section that Oxide hits a wall and slows down a bit. Shortly after this section, there is a boost pad that will create USF. You’ll want to keep this all the way towards the spiral section of the race on the next lap. To do this you’ll need to x3 slide boost just before the boost pad. Then create another x3 slide boost just before the small ramp. Use the created USF here to take the jump over and through the muddy ground to the finish line while continue to combo slide boosting towards the spiral section to keep the USF. It’s very important to keep the USF up until or close to the spiral section as Oxide is very fast during these sections of lap 2 and 3. Best Character Class - Acceleration
I was about to drop playing CTR to finish other games I bought with the psn summer sale. But you Rob! You brought back my ambitious instinct to git gud with a u at CTR and get that platinum trophy before finishing any other game!
Absolutely fantastic video Rob! As always! My Friday never officially starts until I have seen the Friday Feature! Thx so much! Keep up the great work! We miss Delsin though :(
I randomly got curious of PlayStation Access subs and started watching the views on the videos... Damn Robs Friday Features literally carry the shitout the channel! Amazing Job Rob!
I have felt your pain Rob XD I finally got the plat on CTR and Dragon Mines was the last track I beat on the time trials lol good luck dude! My tip would be to build up as much speed as possible before the spiral, then press square, down and right on the spiral part (without accelerating) ...made all the difference for Me!
Stage 8: Becoming an elite player who has scores in the top 100 for CTR and showing others your skills, possibly helping others to progress through the stages to 'get gud'.
I've come to stage 7 at RE2 Remake, all Dark Souls games, Tekken 7 online ranked matches, and even at FF 14. that includes S+ Rank in hardcore difficulty on RE2, and clearing the savage and extreme content on FF 14. what i do is not be smug about it, but actually help others get there. great video, as usual.
I am "Gud" at Fallout 4. Got half the DLC, popped the plat, built up all of my settlements to the best they can be, became the ultimate elder of the Brotherhood of Steel, and got to about level 136 I think.
I wish I was good enough to beat the MAIN STORY of Final Fantasy X. It's been almost a year since I last played it. I couldn't handle the unskippable cutscenes I guess. This video made me think of that game for some reason.
Stage 8: "Amateur Teacher" where you try to give advice that isn't smug, but you aren't a good teacher, because the high level skills you know aren't fun for lower stage players, or aren't easy to adopt. This stage is sometimes easiest to get past by playing a game that you still aren't good at, and realizing there is a growth curve to get past first; you can't make a stage 2 into a stage 6 overnight with a few tips, after all. Stage 9 is the "Wise Mentor" stage. You know what tips are good for what skill level, and you have a nostalgic respect for people who are learning the game for the first time.
