Charlie Soesbergen McLaren is truly the best, but it is so high class, really not affordable for ordinary folks who are not billionaires, so is Aston Martin. Jaguar makes affordable cars, but they cannot outperform the german rivals, matbe Lotus is the affordable true british sports car, I always wanted an Elise.
@AmirGTR this car has quite a bit more than just a supercharger, and if you watched the first 30 seconds of the video, you'll know that the insane lotus we were supposed to test blew its motor, so we needed a backup plan in like 12 hours. I doubt many people out there could make a 700 horsepower M3 just appear in 12 hours, and I'm particularly proud of the film we made with it, given the last-minute arrangements.

I supercharger mine i got the stage 2 supercharger VF engineering . 600 hp to the wheels . I am so happy . The car runs like stick until you step on it it’s when power kicks in .
How long do you think the stock S65 internals will live at nearly 700 flywheel HP? The rod bearings on stock S65s become unhappy in stock configuration and eventually rearrange the rods to the wrong side of the block. Is there any long term testing of these kits out there?

Math time! 14k for a new Corolla, at 132hp. That comes out to $106 PER HORSEPOWER. 14k for an extra 350 horses, that comes out to $40 per horsepower. Which is a better deal?
That model of M3 with a kit like that on it, or a Porsche 911 Turbo 991 generation are what I call my “Actually obtainable” dream cars one day haha. Amazing machine, my favorite M car!
That is one nice car..minus the sleeper look. I would want other cars to shiver when they look at this beast and not force my hand in proving myself on public roads.
This message is for Mr Blowington. It's very easy to be a Monday-morning quarterback, and criticize someone or something you haven't ever done or tried. Last time I checked you tube I didn't see any of your videos reviewing sports cars or anything for that matter. Matts a good guy, he is knowledgeable and funny, and he's been on plenty of car shows, as well as has more than a million followers on his various you tube channels. So with all that being said, when you have something worth writing back in on, please do. Criticize away. I'm sure Matt really cares what you think of him....

Wait if it made 575 at the wheels, why did they say 700hp. Yes, I know that its 700 flywheel hp but is it really that much drive train loss or are they just boosting the number?
the bike in this video is sick that flat black r6 in the background sick bike... for sure (its mine =D) the guys that are part of tuned are seriously the chillest people we saw them up at GMR filming and was chilling with them the whole time
I drove a Competition Package E90 M3 a while back and at the time I found it hard to believe how it could be any better. Well now I believe. Awesome review of a nicely tuned car.
I haven't watched the video but large tires, a un-refined tranny & a supercharger instead of a turbo makes a bit of a difference. There's also a ratio in which there needs to be balance between the torque & rwhp to maintain drivability in a car such as the M3, which with all the modifications could be a decent weight car ( not a BMW guy myself ) . The modifications on this car & the Stillen 370z are exactly the same, the tune & the frame are the only difference really. I don't think much more could be done than 550 rwhp to either car with this kit & maintain reliability.
690 on the engine dyno. It takes power to turn the drivetrain, it's called drivetrain loss. It can be anywhere from 10 to a 20% loss. So to the wheels its 575.
+1tokeover Adding power to most European cars requires a lot of money. Cost is about double of what you would pay for American cars at least. For example, besides that supercharger, most exhaust set ups can easily cost over $3k and that's just in the medium tier group of exhaust companies.
+VenomPool Just learn how to weld, make a new exhaust and turbo manifold and get a new ECU, I'm not from america but everywhere in the world uses European cars to make money, its exactly the same as working on most other cars when it comes to things like turbo and exhaust manifolds
@RicanJoeMusic they are called dillon optics and we sell them through our website. they have a secondary polarizer to reduce internal reflections and are some of the clearest glasses we've ever used.
scottjordan08 335s have an insane amount of potential to be fast as hell for cheap. one of the most cost effective bmws in my opinion, and i own an e92 m3. one of the first thing many 335 owners do is get jb4 set up on the n54 and that alone gives up to 100 horsepower. im sure you get the point
@Kyu1LL the engine itself doesn't feel very stressed by the boost; it idles normally, runs at the same operating temperature as stock, and doesn't get angry when it's revved out. I don't think low boost (when charge cooled) is all that bad for it.
@Gangreen167 the Supercharger kit costs $14k from VF. The suspension and everything else is additional. The total cost of all the work on the Stillen car including the suspension, brakes, wheels, and body work is $20k.

I can agree with that. Sometimes I just get tired of boost. Although, any twin turbo motor by Nelson Racing Engines is pretty badass... Anyway. Nice to see someone that isn't a huge boost fanboy. Take care.
As he said, 575HP at the wheels. The larger number is at the crank (measured directly from the engine). It equates to a 20% power loss which seems right for a RWD car. In 4WD cars you can see up to a massive 30% loss from the HP at the crank versus the HP at the wheels. Its simply because there is a lot of friction in the gearbox, diff's and other linkages that separate the engine and wheels, and that eats power.
Yes, in a sort. See my comment to Aaron Smith. Twin charging can limit the SC, or the turbo charger. At the same time, it CAN (but not always) give you a longer range of boosted power. SC boosts at lower RPMs, allowing for power while your laggy turbo builds boosts.
@TurboLag23 the owner uses the car for 80% track, 20% street, so that's his ideal setup. You can feel the difference in the stiffened chassis with the cage though.
@EthansOpinion92 it also has more metal to it, more sound insulation, heavier leather and interior bits, and a much more solid feel. That could be a reason too.
Because knowing the power the physical engine is pushing out gives more indications and relativity of it's modifications and tuning than just a whp rating calculated by physics.
