I'm so happy I stumbled upon this podcast, never heard of it and never heard of Chef Babette! This was very inspirational and exciting. I just turned 64 and I eat well but I don't feel great! So, I will definitely be seeking more guidance from Ms. Davis! Thank you Switch4Good! I have subscribed!
Wow, that is so awesome that you went Vegan,!You started around the age that I am now. My diet is horrible, and, I do it out of habit, and ignorance, and I am so tired of being in pain, and being sluggish all the time. I need to just do whst I know is right, amd move forward. Thank you for your comment,! Lord, Give me the strength to do what right for me and my daughter, God bless you💞🙏🏿
This lady is beautiful and fantastic. I'm 61 and have been vegan for the past 6 years. Mostly raw vegan during the summer months. Had been back and forth between vegetarianism and the Standard American Diet since college days. But after seeing what the Standard American Diet did to my parents and grandparents, I committed to veganism. My parents and grandmother took high blood pressure from about age 40. Were told arteriosclerosis was hereditary. Told only to limit salt and eat a banana daily. No guidance about truly changing their diet which caused their illnesses. My relatives were not overweight but dealt with strokes, TIAs, bypass surgery, and open heart surgery. I spent 17 years as a caregiver to my parents and grandmother. I’m so glad I realized animal products were the cause of their illnesses. I have perfect blood work. No medications. Best decision I ever made.
I can't believe she's 72! She looks AMAZING. I became vegan almost 5 years ago--best decision I've ever made. No more chronic constipation, fatty liver, elevated cholesterol and insomnia. I'm 63 and people can't believe it. They tell me my skin glows. Vegan 4 life!
I'm 32 and sometimes people think I'm 23. I was vegetarian from 23 to 30, and someone mentioned I look young because I was vegetarian. It was okay but I wouldn't really want to be vegetarian again coz of anaemia but honestly I'm starting to toy around with the idea. It helped with my painful cramps and really, that's the only reason I stayed vegetarian.
l started being a vegetarian at the age of 21. January 18th 1994. I'm 51 years old now. I'm at the gym right now. l feel great. l do not look my age...at least every one who meets me tells me this. l take care of myself for ME!!!! l do not have diabetes, high blood pressure, or any of the common ailments. No one is going to die for you. Good health is worth more than any amount of money in the world. LOVE YOURSELF FIRST.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Don't bring this beautiful lady on your show, and then sit and argue with her! The lady is a walking success story. Let her talk, and you be quiet and learn!
I follow a lot of what she talks about. Brilliant! I've lost 105lbs, no longer have sleep apnea, sleep a solid 6-8 hours a night, workout a solid 90 min everyday, cut my heart meds in half, etc. The principles she addresses make sense. I do what works for me and I feel amazing.
@@Switch4GoodThank you for your interview wit Chef Babette Davis. Quotes by Vegan Chef Babette which you highlighted were “inspirational idea-holders”. I am an 83 year old “flexitarian”. When I started working as a Caregiver, I reduced my Physical exercise routine. Chef Babette has inspired me to increase my exercise routine!! GGMA Niece
I'm very happy for you! Undoubtedly you have less-to-no inflammation now, which means more oxygen in quality & quantity, better circulation of more richly oxygenated blood, which means no GERD & no Apmea. GERD can be silent in some people in earlier stages, but is one of the primary causes of Sleep Apnea. Many things start in the gut! Best of Health to You! 💜
Great video. Such a beautiful lady!! Totally agree on working out and eating right. I’m 67 years old and I feel like a kid. This beautiful lady should have her own television show. It be a winner!!…👍👏👌
Thank you for sharing. I am 52 year female. I learnt a lot from you which are beneficial to my health as a aging person. Appreciate you so much. Please continue sharing with the world viewers.
I love this. I came across this by accident tonight and it is 2:45 am. I was not planning to watch entire show, just do a glance by. But, this is so interesting I cannot turn it off. I should be asleep. But, this is too good to miss. Great show.
I really LOVE all of her! I am 70 years old...and I believe that I need to become a Vegan. Never thought about it. I absolutely love her talking about Joe Biden and his pharmacy rules. And, I especially LOVE what she talked about my LOVING MYSELF!!! WOW!!!🥰😇
I first saw her own Tamron Hall show. She is awesome. I just turned 55 and I need to keep start a healthier eating habit. Just recently started back walking after ankle surgery so I pray by my next birthday that I am in better health.
God gifted black folks with pretty good skin. I'm 65 I eat anything I want. I do ADF, I only eat 4 times a week. And I look to be in my 40's with silver hair. I have 3 sisters that are 73, 78, 79 you would never know, and a sister that's 58 looks like she's in her late 30's. My mom never allowed us to use astringents on our faces. We used dove soap and took castor oil. She feed us a lot of fish as kids. My mom passed at 90 and folks thought she was in her 70's. Everybody's different.
“If you don’t love you, you can’t love me.” Wisdom for the ages. 💕 Thank you for a refreshing, real, and humorous interview. This is helping me redirect my energy to eating well post holidays.
She is amazing and inspiring. My husband and I adopted the vegan lifestyle 3 months ago and I'm enjoying it so much. I too was a sugar addict. My husband had acid issues also. I suffered a major CVA stroke in March of 2021 and 2 more mini eschemic strokes in 2022. Changing my diet was needed. My blood was clotting and I didn't know why. I learned Lectin and night shade foods and vegetables were affecting my blood and circulation. She is right correct combination and when to eat certain fruits etc. I gave up dairy years ago. My love is chocolate so I only eat a small piece of 70%dark chocolate these days. Change means a longer healthier life. I am healing well from the strokes and able to walk 3 to 4 miles a day and my system is working well. Thank you for this video ladies. I'm 57 and returned to university for a 2nd Masters degree and doing very well al A's. I received my doctorate in June 2020. And lost my mother to diabetes and renal failure right after in July 2020. So it was a bitter sweet time in my life but I have learned so much.
I love Chef Babette. She's genuine, beautiful, vibrant and enthusiastic. She's such a inspiration for health and taking care of yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you for the great interview!
Damm!!! Sister nonsense tell it as it is, your full of life and absolutely beautiful and young looking at 72 going on 30 years!!! Your testimony of what you preach! Lady! Very glad I pumped into this channel today 01/06/23! May Almighty God,bless you as many more years your able to live healthy!!👍💞❣️
I pumped into the 1/7/2023. I know this stuff but have not practiced it for 1.5 years….and it shows. I’ve already set a plan to stop planning and stop playing
I'm impressed, and logging in on 1/24/23. TRYING to figure out how can a Jamaican born lady (curry goat, oxtail, stew peas & rice, jerk chicken, rice & peas...)...turn "kinda sorta vegan."
I'm 59 and I am very inspired whenever I see fit and healthy older people, especially black women! I am a Women's health nurse practitioner, working in a community health center serving the underserved community. I am really trying to educate my women on the importance of good nutrition, and exercise. So many women are having multiple health issues related to obesity, poor nutrition, and poor fitness. They are always looking for a quick fix like surgery or a pill, so I am so inspired to keep on educating I'm decently, fit and healthy, but this young lady has inspired me to work even harder at this.
I will turn 73 this month and four years ago my daughter talked me into becoming vegan. It helps me to have a healthier guts. I will never go back to eat animals. Love it.
OMG! I love her. She is so me. I have been wanting to eat from the Earth for so long and I allow Worldly obstacles to get in my way. I am 54 and when I gave up meat for link and continued until May 5th, I feel wonderful. I order all three books she mentioned and I cannot wait to start my meat free journey to better my health, life and looks. God bless her and I love you guys which there isn't anything you can do about it.
Wow! As a fairly new vegan recovering from a serious injury and worried about fitness and health, watching and listening to Babette is an inspiration and a vote on confidence. Thank you girls. Have a healthy and wonder filled weekend. Blessings, Brad
I adore her spirit so much! I’m looking forward to visiting her restaurant in person. This was such a beautiful interview, I just love her realness and her nurturing energy, she keeps is real and is so sweet at the same time. I’m inspired to be as young as her well into my 80s! I was vegan for eight years, but fell back into the animal world after COVID, and my body is reverting back to how it was back in my early college years. So needless to say I’m going back to it, but I’m gonna go with fully raw mostly fruit. I’m excited to reset again.
I love all the lady’s. They are so cool and relaxed and effortless❤❤❤❤ beautiful women. Great interview. We don’t need special effects of perfect cameras just great conversation that is purely good information
My favorite part “….you’re trying to take your A S S into outer space! To do what?” Hilarious but insightful about using resources for comparatively less important issues, ignoring basic wellness for the citizens.
I’ve loved Babette’s tacos for years. It was so good I decided to host a natural hair meet up there back in the day 🙌🏾 Sad I’m no longer living down the street but I try to stop by when visiting my family. Some of the best vegan food your can find in the area!
Watching your interview with Chef Babette was my introduction to her lifestyle. I enjoyed how comfortable and real she was with sharing her health journey along with introducing resources I could acquire to help me along my health journey. I will find Chef Babette online to learn additional information from her perspective. What I loved most about the post was Babette's youthful appearance at 70 years old, high energy, clear & decisive communicative ability, radiant skin, and positive outlook for the next 30 (+) years. Those things convinced me that at 61, I MUST make a radical change from my current way of eating (SAD-Standard American Diet) to embrace a plant based diet. Thank you ladies.
Was searching for something inspiring to listen to, and watch, and boy was I satisfied. Thank you both so much for that interview. I will definitely be telling all my senior friends about the show, and about Chef Babette. She was truly an inspiration to me.
This one woman... Chef Babette Davis is so inspiring and powerful. So amazing. Many blessings to her. I'm so grateful I came across this. Thank you God and Universe ❤️ and thank you to Chef Babette Davis and the ladies hosting this video. I can't wait to go check out her restaurant. ❤️❤️❤️❤️💗💗💗
My favorite segment of this episode was just listening to her journey from 1990 to present. Change didn't happen for her over night, but over time, and her commitment over time has proven to be an investment in her health that paid tremendous dividends! If she started with just 1 push-up, then there's hope for me in my 60's...LOL! This beautiful woman is amazingly inspiring! Chef Babette is walking the talk every day of her life. She is an authentic living example of what she preaches! I can't wait to fly to L.A. to visit her restaurant. I went WFPB in 2018 after watching Forks Over Knives for the third time. However, seeing Chef Babette at age 72 looking better than 90% of the younger generation in this country is confirmation that vibrant health is a CHOICE, but then again, as she alluded to, so is sickness and medication (in most cases). EXCELLENT INTERVIEW!!!
This was the perfect inspirational video to watch. I'm 62, 63 in 3 months. I've tried several vegan foods, but now it's time to go full vegan. Thank you for having Chef Babette on your podcast.😀
I'm right behind you!! 61, 62 in April. Toying with plant based... But she's an inspiration!! Imma get my butt in the gym and commit to my "live-it"!! Have a blessed year!! 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
OH MY GOODNESS! I saw Chef about 8 months ago and I was inspired! I am 76 and lost my husband five years ago! I was soooo depressed that I had gained so much weight but, seeing and hearing her I have been learning to change what I eat. She's just amazing and insightful! I loved it when she said "going to the moon for what?" ❤ 🤣🤣🤣 It's my sentiments exactly!
Babette, you are my kind of girl. We grew up eating vegetables from our garden. We couldn’t afford to buy meat from the store. When I got grown I love the hamburger taco your name. Now I am back to my roots. I am the veggie girl. And yes I have lots of energy. I’m getting your book.
What an inspiringly sensible woman! Proud to be WFPBV in the company of all these phenomenal people truly! I noticed early on as a WFPBV that my mouth tastes normal when I wake up, not like the bottom of a Budgie cage ❤ YES they eat what you eat!
Miss Babette you are the TRUTH! I'm 60 and already started eating "clean" earlier last year in April after having my 2nd back surgery. I wanted to heal faster and reduce inflammation in my muscles so I began eating more fresh veggies and reducing my meat and dairy intake. I was using a walker and a cane for support. My doctor was impressed by the results; fast recovery, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, weight loss, more flexibility. I walk 2 miles daily with no support, working out and meditating with yoga, weight training. I plan to go full vegan this year for better benefits because I want to travel. Thank you for telling the TRUTH, your beauty shines from within and out!
I am so blessed to have stumbled across this amazing interview. Chef Babette is so knowledgeable and full of love and wisdom. I look forward to becoming a vegan. I have so many things health wise to correct and I’m so motivated. I suffer with arthritis, acid reflex and my arms are getting week so I’m so exciting about working on me and I believe that this will help heal me and strength me. I am 68 years old and looking forward to living a long healthy life thank you all so much. 57:01
Chef Babette is an absolute DELIGHT!!! I'm definitely getting her cookbook! I cannot wait for her next cookbook. She has inspired me to do pushups, planks, etc. Her "guns" R so inspiring & let's not even talk abt her beauty. Wow. I know 40 yr olds who R so sick.. snd Chef Babette is VIBRANT!!! "Move & Nourish YOUR BODY b/c no one is going to do it for you" ~ Chef Babette. Love Chef Babette. I'm a lifelong fan.. forever.🌹💗🌹
I'mma try it again. I went vegan in 2020. Lost 30 lbs and got pregnant within a year. Had a billion food aversions and went back to a SAD. Ready to try veganism again
You had food aversions because plants are toxic! Heard of defense chemicals? anti-nutrients? The SAD diet is even worse. When will you take the blinkers off and wake up to the ancestral high-fat carnivore diet? Check my YT space before you make a life-changing mistake!
hey k.karma, i was just wondering if you were having trouble conceiving before you went veganism or were the two not connected. i hope im not imposing by asking this. sending love
@Beautify Mee I was having trouble conceiving. I always do. I have PCOS. With both my pregnancies, I lost weight, and then I conceived. With the oldest, I did a keto diet and was training for adventure races. With the youngest, I only went vegan. My 2nd pregnancy was much higher risk and I couldn't tolerate most vegetables or meat substitutes.
@@k.karmas1126 Total head-shaker, DUH! You just answered your own questions! Plants and meat substitutes are not compatible for human existence. Wake up before you do yourself long-term permanent damage. Your hormones are way out of whack with anything but a carnivore lifestyle. Where and how on earth do you think we make our "necessary" Cholesterol to produce our balance of hormones? Saturated animal fats of course! You, people, are totally brainwashed to the detriment of your's and your offspring's health. It's just mind-boggling.
I too stopped eating meat cause of meat rotting in my teeth, and I thought my gut as well. I have been vegetarian off and on since 16. I am 67 . Got my boyfriend to be vegetarian too. Mostly vegan, but I have a flock of chickens.. and ducks so eggs sometimes. I donate most of the eggs
Always fun to hear Chef Babette tell her story! Many of her experiences are similar to what others experience when they start to eat 'real' food. An inspiration for many!
Hi edagdwg thank you for sharing this special story of what happens when you put to much of mixed food together soooooo blessed to hear you break it down linda j. Peace
Yes chef babette i love your mentality i agree %110! People need to open their eyes and take care of ourselves, and then love one another peaceably life would be better.
Wow! I came across this last night at 10pm and it was such a Blessing I watched it all over again. Wish i could live near Chef Babette, however I don't. Been off and on playing around with Plant Based foods, not a meat eater, and I want to eat foods to help with lowering my Blood Pressure. So Let's Go Angel try more Plants!!!
I've really enjoyed this interview with Chef Babette. Combinations are so important! The cleanse is great for people with general health or minimal health problems. I take antidepressants, and I have to cleanse lightly otherwise I cleanse my mental helps. Organics give us so much nutrition. I'm working toward incorporating the exercise I need, but low impact because of injury and other inflammatory problems. Key is to move, and don't stop! Thank you, again! 🥰
So true. Keep moving. Walking is better than running. (For me it is.. but, at minimum, it's just as effective as running when it's at 4-5mph - like a race walk.) Wishing you good health! 👍🏽😊👍🏽
Chef Babette is simply amazing. I loved when she talked about eating the correct combination of food. Which I have never heard of. But I’m definitely going to start that. And changing my whole diet. I love when she also said if you don’t love you, you can’t love no one else. Move and nourish yourself. Sit in a chair and move. It’s our journey and nobody is going to have the quality of life for you-but you. Thanks for sharing with us this awesome podcast this was a game changer for me. When you know better you do better. And I will end with this Good Food, Good Thoughts, Good Attitudes, Water, and love yourself, your body, and love others. This podcast was absolutely amazing 👍🏽🥰🙏
I just came across this video today and really enjoyed this topic! (My favorite). I've been vegan since 2012, 85% raw and 15% cooked. Chef Babette was talking my language and really inspiring! This is my first time learning about her. Great interview! Thank you! 🥝🍎🍍🍏🍌🍉🥑🍓🍇🥦
This was amazing! Episode 197 of switch4good podcast with the fabulous and miraculous 72 year old Chef Babette was outstanding. I have been a fan of Chef Babette for a few years now but this was the most comprehensive reveal of her story that I have ever seen. The interviewers were very skilled at asking the right questions, leading and pacing to get Chef Babette to cover all the details while at the same time allowing her to fully express and be her vibrant and passionate self. She’s exactly 10 years older than me and I want to be like her when I grow up! Thanks for presenting this powerful woman and her crucial health information. I see your channel content is all about self improvement and I was so impressed with the podcast that I have become a subscriber. Keep up the good work ladies! This definitely gets 5 stars.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I live in LA and had no idea about her restaurant! It doesn’t even come up in lists about vegan restaurants here. Google is a lie! We will go this weekend.
Been many years ago I found out about this lady. Just didn't do what she said to do. My mistake. A lovely person and soul . Our story is similar. Knew I needed to clean up my Die Eat as well as other areas of my life. Mind body and spirit go's hand and hand. Thanks for sharing this information much appreciated
I loved this episode with Chef Babette! I identify with what doctors but, there's one thing I dislike going to doctors I have had is they expect a yearly mammogram, blood analysis every 4 to 6 months! I asked what could I do lose weight and exercise is the only advice because I have HBO but not a diabetic that is the only advise I am given... But if I am sick there's is always a drug I can try! I tore my minicus on my right knee, two years ago, then visited my doctor, I was referred to a surgeon, he x-rayed my knee, but never touched or looked at my knee, but said I needed surgery! He was not going to see me again! He didn't care about my pain to examine me, so I sort therapy myself, after 14 months and herbs I am healed. We do not have health care in our country it's more like I heard as someone said, we have sick care!
A review? Yes! Absolutely! Great interview. Chef B. is an inspiration. I agree with her on the whole idea of Seniors getting prescriptions for less, but not getting educated on real food. This is about all of us taking care of ourselves and our planet 🌎. Four Stars ✨ and beyond.
Good man, your husband. Being truthful , no one should lie about ANYTHING!, If I ever come back to LA. (I was raised in Gardena..) I knew Inglewood good.. I will look for your restaurant!
WOW this was powerful and encouraging and I’m interested in trying Vegan food after watching this video. I missed Chef Babette’s 72nd Birthday because today is Sun Feb 12th, 2023 and this video was just shared with me recently!!! Happy Belated Birthday and I clicked the Subscribe Button and I am looking forward to following and watching more of the podcasts.
Absolutely amazing I would not believe it had not been for you tube.. I love to see kings 👑and queens 👑living their dreams.. good luck on your healthy journey :-)
