Man there are a lot of snide remarks on here, probably from a bunch of socially awkward man-children who are repulsed by someone who's comfortable and entertaining. LOL. Dude this was a good video. Keep it up.
you probably dont care but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
I got a grand canyon, and it is by far the funnest delay pedal I've ever had. And the looper effects are very nice, it's a high skill cap pedal, takes awhile to learn the match timing of the looping and delay tapping but once you can it is so worth it.
I look at different polls for the most popular delays and I cannot believe that I never see the EHX Stereo Memory Man ( the blue one!). That thing is nothing short of glory. Worth every penny to check out. You won't be disappointed.
Recently dove down the RU-vid rabbit-hole, so I found a bunch of pedals that blow the socks off your list. -Empress Echosystem -Bastl Thyme -Pigtronix Echolution2 Ultra Pro -GFI Specular Tempus -Pladask Elektrisk Tåken -Smallsound/Bigsound No Memory -Paradox Effects Oniric -MG Music Space City -Electronic Audio Experiments Sending -Quiet Theory Prelude just to name a few
I really like spacey and creepy delays with lots of character. I don’t have any real delay pedals but with VSTs nothing beats Bionic Delay, Cinematic Reverb (HUGE SOUND), Glaceverb. They can make even the most basic of tones sound out of this world.
The truth about delay pedals is that with the exception a few extra-delay type effects and a few subtle nuances they all do pretty much the same thing and sound pretty much the same as well. Once engaged with a band playing along, those nuances will disappear faster than a paid agent. In isolation, all kinds of little things pop out all over the place and comparisons are easy. Just play along with your drummer, bass player and whatever with the delay engaged and see what happens. Still, I like my Belle Epoch Deluxe for… I don’t know.
Also, almost nobody can really explain price differences since those circuits are very simple things in fact. My digitech delay, or any behringer or chinese clone could be considered a lot better if they were more expensive, thats crazy
Agreed with the ones that I have owned and played which would include the Strymon, Memory Man (played not owned), Boss, Carbon Copy but I used to own the echoplex pedal. I had been fortunate enough to have played around with the real thing. When I purchased the echoplex stompbox a few years ago when it came out, I believe that expecting a $150 box ( or whatever it was my recollection is that it wasn't particularly pricey) to be an authentic replica was naiive wishful thinking on my part. I guess I didn't give it a fair chance of being a decent delay because I bought it with a single purpose. There are lots of tape delay settings on various digital rack effects and delay pedals and none of them that I tried even came close to doing justice to an authentic echoplex, which was never really intendand to be an affordable consumer effect. It was always an effect used exclusively by professionals and priced accordingly. I found the pedal to be about as authentic as the tone of a vintage fifty or one hundred Watt Marshall super lead to the tone you get in your average Plexi overdrive pedal. Another analogy would be an amp model on a line 6 spider compared to the vintage amp.
What are your thoughts on Line 6 Echo Park? I recently got one used for about 60 USD and love all the features it comes with plus its compact size. It is one of my favorites next to the BOSS DD20
If I can find a way to deliver you the best high five ever from across the pond, would you consider hooking me up with the strymon? Or the Memory Boy? It will be a great high five.
I would murder someone for this pedal. No shame. I would kill for a fully developed big boy canyon. I also miss my DL4, my boss dd3 and my boss dd8. I just adore delay in general...especially now
You just got a lemon brother or powered it incorrectly which I don't know how you could have because it's one of the few pedals that can be run at 9, 12, and 18v. I run mine at 18v cause I have no more 12v slots but it sounds great no matter what voltage you use. Maybe you went over on your mah capacity. In all honesty you probably just got a lemon. It's not the most versatile delay but it is great at tge sounds it's meant for (slapback, spacey modulation delay etc.). My only complaint with it is that the (modulation an speed I think they call them) pots can only be accessed through the back so you can't change them on the fly which would make this pedal so much better. I'll probably mod mine I just have to work out the spacing. I've had mine 3 years an still going strong.
In general, power chords and fast, generic pentatonic riffs don't lend themselves well to delay pedals, imo. Better to use deeper and more mysterious melodies for that. Such as 'Subterranean Homesick Alien' by Radiohead. For me, it's all about the melancholic vibe. Hard to achieve when you're a shallow and flamboyant idiot showing off.
