Over my past 9 years in higher education, I have found 8 techniques that maximize my results from time spent studying. For the past two years, I have studied more than I have in my entire life. If I am spending this much time of my life studying, I should use this time as efficiently as possible. Here are my favorite study techniques that help me study more effectively and efficiently.

it was very difficult. But I knew it would be. This realization was the best "encouragement" for any effort I made during my medical and surgical education: "Unlike other subjects I have had to study, this one is the most IMPORTANT. I must actually LEARN this, because this is what I am going to do." Take notes by asking question and answering, this will make you, Explain concepts in a simple way and active recall (closed book) (understanding + memory). Continue to build memory by using spaced rep.

This video brings me back to when I was studying in America and it was as easy as doing 20 problems or making some flash cards. Unfortunately, in other parts of the world it’s not so simple: so little of the study material is curated that you spend 90% of your time trying to figure out WHAT to study. The remaining time is devoted to cramming before the exam, and we all know how well that works.

The thing that helped me the most was using past tests or tests from the other class of the same subjects, sometimes the teachers use the same questions and sometimes they take questions exactly or concepts from questions from years in the oast

Interesting I usually re-wrote notes from an earlier class and thought that helped. I’m trying some certifications now so I’ll try the testing method. Makes sense since your mind is immediately trying to recall some information
