@AirplaneDoctor_
I've grown to appreciate the donut shops that aren't part of a chain over the years, the just make better donuts it seems.

The former Whole Donut in Kensington is now called Swiches, but the inside is the same Whole Donut interior and booths, and the donuts are nearly the same as they used to be!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys eating a variety of pickles while manually washing my car.
@sirmister4411
Thank you for finding my long lost. Pickles. I took them out of my car to clean my mats the last time I was there. Thanks I’ll go by and grab my pickle. lol

I live in Australia and I'm really enjoying your videos. It's interesting to learn another side of America's social history.

Great video Tom! I know these vids probably do not get a massive amount of views, but it’s great to see places like this that many of us never knew existed. 🎉

The Whole Donut in Canton recently shut down and is now Luke’s Donuts which is a place I used to visit a long time ago as a kid in Avon. CT. There was a post on Reddit about the Canton Whole Donut and a guy posted that he or his father knew the owner and he had the old sign hanging in his garage. He posted the pics on Reddit. I occasionally stopped in at that location in Canton to get a coffee and the coffee was better than DD as well. Will be missed.

Great video! I literally live walking distance away from the first one, never took a look inside. It actually looks better in there than it did a few years ago. I recall seeing vines covering all the windows from the inside.

Whole donut cherry cake donut. Coffee light and sweat served in a porcelain mug on a saucer on the swivel stools. Winos smoking in the corner. Comfy. Best donuts ever

I remember some Dunkin’s way back had similar counters. Way back when these places did counter service.
@MillerVanDotTV
Yeah the counter was common. Green road in Manchester has one. May still be open as king donut. Indian guy that owned it retained the whole donut recipe fairly close to original but larger. There was an open whole donut in new Hartford on rt 4 until at least two years ago, coworker would stop in and grab me some nostalgia one in a while, blueberry cake was good too.
@rickcentore2801
That's not a bad location and a lot of cars pass by there daily. I'm surprised it's been empty for so long.
@Perfidious_Hollow
Just a tidbit of personal info since I saw you got a chocolate donut. My great grandfather came up with the recipe for the chocolate donut that Dunkin sells. He sold them the recipe right around the time they started business for $100.
@mgratk
Great video, liked seeing the deserted location, then the location that was open when you last visited it. Nice atmosphere. Dunkin's doughnuts were very good back in the day, when they were baked in-store. Now it's just a great coffee shop and I don't buy any of the food items. Thanks!
@madmerlot841
I don't think the roof will last much longer at that abandoned location. It's sad seeing places like that go. We'll see a lot more of places closing with food prices going up.
@Ralphie224
I stopped a couple of times at the Whole Donut on Rt 190...with a Dunkin Donut close by...yes ...they were very good.......
@ruby055
It was not a trademark counter it was off the shelf produced for many coffee and donut shops including many older Dunkin Donuts the original one in New Milford CT had the same style counter but the formica was different colors, this was in the 70s the company that sold it did so for like 50 years to many franchise owners.
@petersideris6216
The counter reminds me of a Mister Donut in Stamford I used to visit as a child.
@DavidGlaum
A lot of donuts are better than the ones at Dunkin’ Donuts
