Adam, you are doing exactly what I've wanted to do my whole life: just drive all over the country into remote areas, exploring hidden towns and historic off the road locations. Unfortunately, I've never had the time away from work and/or the financial means to do so.
@@QuincyDisneyVegan I may soon. I'm looking at early retirement in the next few months, and once I get paid for my excess vacation days I have accumulated (75+ days), I'll be better suited financially. In the meantime, someone please bring gas prices back down to sane levels!!
I can dig where you're coming from bud me too I'd love to go out and travel, I can't even afford gas anymore it is insane. Somebody hurry up and invent something that will run a motor without oil that would be a good deal.
Adam, I can't express how much I appreciate what you are doing. You are the eyes to alot of people for what ever reason, can't do what you are doing. Thank you for sharing your blog and your travels. Great job
I went back and watched an older Woo adventure, and have to say it is awesome to see how you've honed your craft, and production abilities over the years. Keep doing it, Adam. Thank you for taking us on the journey.
You are going to places that I will probably never see in person!! That is one of the reasons I follow your channel!! Thank you for filming your adventures!!
In 1939/40 my dad and a couple of friends started mining gold in Cherry Creek. He registered for the military draft at the schoolhouse you filmed there. He ended up getting drafted into the Army and was stationed in California when the war started. He never made it back to Cherry Creek but did live a long life.
Pronounced "Ee Lee" It's one of Nevada's hidden treasures and a "must stop" on any road trip on US 93, 50, and 6. You might say it's "centrally located" as in "the middle of nowhere." The Railroad Museum came about in the same way the McGill drugstore. The mining company shut the place down and walked away leaving everything exactly as it was while still operating. How cool is that!:
“Even in decay there is beauty”, love it. ❤ I love seeing old dilapidated buildings with nature taking over. I’ll miss these type of videos when you decide to “retire”. Especially the trains. 😢 until then..carry on. Shall you. 😊 thank you Adam. Also just watched the WB ranch video! 💚
Thank you so much for covering Ely and McGill!! Ely is an overlooked, adorable town, and McGill’s old drugstore museum is one of my favorite stops. I really hope you make it inside someday.
Wow, this really takes me back…to seven weeks ago when I was in this part of Nevada. I absolutely love it out there. Lots of people just want to do Vegas, but I’d rather drive around like you and see these kinds of places.
hello, i'm Jorge, a pilot from Lima peru, working with LATAM airline. i came across your page here through the utube suggestion for me so i thought to write to you. where are you from? Write me when you can and do have a nice day and may God bless you..
Adam this is a great video!! Classic Woo adventure taking me places I haven't seen before and places that need to be seen. Taking the time to appreciate and explore awesome places. Remote hard to find places and movie locations. Back to your roots, I love it.
Good morning Adam, like the travel your doing love seeing the things I probably won't see in person. But you make that happen when you vlog it for us to see on RU-vid...much appreciated. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🙂📹
Sneaky good Adam, my favorite since the Empty Towns and Backroads in Louisiana and Mississippi vlogs. With copious levels of fascinating obscurity - perhaps only to be found by your discerning eye - the true skill of your storytelling shone through. I love that you appreciated the detour to Cherry Creek must be made. Blending the right amount of humanity with the right about of scenic serenity makes your travel viogs one of a kind. Much appreciated from Down Under.
When you’re walking around these abandoned places, I’m so afraid that the maniac is going to just pop out when you least expect it. Keep your head on a swivel, Adam. Love this series! Stay safe.
That's why he never tells where he's going next, unless it's an organized event. That's also why he no longer shows his car, because when he had his RV people easily found him even at his home in Hollywood and showed up on his doorstep unannounced.
Sometimes I have pulled of the highway and listen to the total silence. Not a peep or anything else. Sometimes a jetliner flying over heading to who know where, but thats it and of course the very occasional car, or truck.
Nevada has plenty of ghost towns. I've seen guide books on where they are. Many would need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to. I have hiked to some of them. Never thought much about snakes and other dangerous animals, but have been well aware. I carried a small first aid kit with me on most of my hikes.
Loved your video! Thanks for traveling around Nevada. I lived here in Nevada but have never toured around like you have. It is great to see what is out on those remote roads. Wonderful to see Nevada.
I'm sure you've been told this before - and maybe you've thought of it yourself: But you should write and direct the ultimate Americana Road Trip film. Could be full of suspense, drama, comedy, happiness, and intensity all in the same wonderful time frame. This is by far the best road trip material you've presented to us. Thanx for the ride. Take care.
I love visiting Ely. (It's pronounced Ee-lee) My favorite part of Nevada. Thanks for the look at it again. You're a lot better off there than here in South Florida this weekend!
It's great to see you so excited for something, like a little kid, makes my day LOL.. glad you are staying on the road for now, Florida is due for some bad weather. Safe travels and keep on vlogging!..

I wish I had enough sense to do what you are doing, back when I was younger! My dream was to buy a box van truck and make me a tiny house in it, and, just hit the road! Now, I get enjoyment watching you do what I wish I had done! You're funny, and, informative! I look forward to where you're headed next! Stay safe and enjoy your life! SHALL YOU???? (lol)
This was great! I viewed the Warner Ranch upload before this. So many rusting relics... My favorite 47 Ford F1 tow truck with a Willy's on the roll back. The sheep and the snowy mountains was so cool. A enchanted moment and post card worthy. Safe travels and have fun in SLC looking forward to learning!~Cheers
I have traveled that area and because of the elevation, snow starts in October in some areas. Vegas is at a much, much lower elevation. You can almost see it while traveling south, it sort of feels like your on a slight downward slope as you head south.

Morning Woo!...was hoping you would make it to Oregon...always a good morning with the Woo Drugstore time machine for sure, Lovn this Travel Series so much. That burned banana could be dangerous too like a bad cartoon..hahaa. Warner Bros Ranch is Incredible to say the least.
Absolutely loved the Warner Ranch video that you uploaded last night. Not only was the content fantastic but the pure joy that you and Scott showed was wonderful to see!
Bummer, to bad Ely RR museum wasn't open and didn't see "Dirt" the famous shop cat! Glad to see a glimpse. I was in Nevada for a train convention years ago. It was too long of a trip to get out there in a day and back on a bus.
HEY ATW...HOW DO YOU DO IT? ON THE ROAD, DRIVING IN the middle of nowhere. Sometimes with not even a radio to keep you company?!! You do bring the most incredible visuals, cutting edge story telling of days gone by of the human condition! Every vlog you produce is as important as the one before! Sometimes showing the very last moment of life in places that just sort of froze in suspended animation! You are the pinnacle of your craft, bringing class, intelligence and unmistakable production of "HISTORY as told by WOO"!
I grew up in Wells, NV. Back when I was in High School (early 80's) my best friends grandmother lived in Metropolis and we went to see her a few times. It was a cool little place then, pretty vacant but cool. Thanks for showing this part of Nevada as most youtubers just drive right by it not knowing what a little gem it is. Too bad you didnt spend more time in Wells though.
When I saw a notification last night from adamthewoo, I had to make sure my eyes were working properly and then I had to check out the video and I'm so glad I did. I'm a big fan of Christmas Vacation and it was so neat to see that house and the pool! I was also fascinated by the other TV and movie history that took place in that area. It's such a shame that it's all going to be bulldozed.
Do you feel uneasy at times when you’re at these remote locations when nobody else is around? You know you ought to feel safer BECAUSE no one else is around but you can’t help it. I found the story about Metropolis was kind of sad but everything else was as interesting as ever. And kudos to you for getting to fulfill something on your bucket list!
Adam-- Great stuff from Ely (E-Lee) Nevada! Nevada is so much more than gambling... Some great history here...One note about the collapsed basement in Metropolis, NV-- In 2008, the Wells, NV. area had a severe earthquake...The Wells, Nevada earthquake struck northeastern Nevada on Thursday morning at 6:16 a.m., February 21, 2008. This event was a very damaging magnitude 6+ earthquake that had a epicenter 5 miles north-northeast of Wells...
Spent quit a few nights at that bar in McGill. (McGill club) The towns big employer was Kennecot Utah Copper, which closed in 1983. Some of the office buildings are still up on a side street near the RR station. SR93 is a truck route south. But most trucks go west on US50 from Ely (EEEEEEEEEly) to SR 318 which is a short cut south and easier road for trucks with no hills. Nevada Northern runs steam trains (and diesel), either west or east from Ely. Great tourist town in the summer.
You should have stuck around at the Nevada Northern. They operated their steam crane yesterday(6/01) to unload a prime mover(large diesel for an Alco locomotive). Not something you can see every day.
I wouldn’t necessarily worry about running out of gas, especially if I’m keeping the tank full, but I’d be more worried about things happening to the car like some kind of malfunction or flat tire or something like that and if you’re in an area without cell service 😬 i’m sure you’re getting a full tuneup before you hit the road 😎👍
Hello 👋 from Washington ! You got to come back to Washington, and visit all the Islands here. They have history , beautiful places and in the summer… All those islands are beautiful. Some of them have hunted places. You should be working for a TV station. I love how you explain things , how you visit this beautiful places that no one wants to see. Even my family back in my country El Salvador, are watching your videos !😳👏👏 I told them about it …. AND THEY LOVE IT. ! Good day and God bless you. Be safe , be well .🙏🙏

@Jorge Giacchetti Hello ! Usted está tratando de comunicarse con Adam Woo ? Creo que el mensaje es para él. I think there is a way of doing that . Hello to all the beautiful people from Peru 🇵🇪 Blessings to all of you !
Thank you! I have always wondered what it would be like to live in one of these ghost towns...out in the middle of nowhere. Of course, if you get sick and its 200 miles to a hospital...could present some problems. California seems to frown on people living in such places..costs the state too much to provide emergency services to people living in remote places.
Ghost Towns remind me of the fellow who bought Cerro Gordo and has been living there for a couple years now. It would be cool if Adam were to stop in and see Brett’s town. (Sorry if I got his name wrong ;__;)
I love your videos. I used to hitchhike back in the early 70's. I've been to some of those cool places. Keep up the great work my friend. - I can't believe that I'm 70. Peace brother-
Good Morning Adam, I enjoyed the Warner Ranch footage posted yesterday. Had a question as to if the Ranch was demolished when you were given the go ahead to release your footage? Sadness feels my heart as we loose that part of my childhood memories of television and film. Looking forward to Scott releasing his footage as well. I lived in the Northeast corner of Utah for 2 1/2 years. As matter of fact my son was born in Vernal, Utah. Will keep watching to see if your travels take you close by that area since it has been 28 years since I have been there. Thank you again for all your interesting content.
Lovely. I am from the East Coast and I have family out west. I always loved driving from LA to Vegas and all the detours and stops along the way. One of my favorite random little places is Searchlight, Nevada. I just think it's so cute there, coming from the Philly area. So small but they even had a post office. Can't wait to drive through again.
If you head up north in Utah, would be nice to have a chance to meet up with AdamtheWoo. Lagoon, promontory point and the great 25th street many locations around the Ogden area to gaze upon.

I was up before 5 am this morning catching up on another segment of the newest "Fast Times with these guys" video from @malfuncsean 's channel. and I finally heard the story that Adam shared along with @ScottonTape about the SUPER SCARY experience they shared earlier this year on the lake bed while trying to get footage of the Dirty Dancing stairs... WOW!... All other Woozies scrolling, Sean's whole vid is worth a watch, but if you're pressed for time, Adam and Scott touch on the lake story around the 46 minute mark. As all other kids that grew up in the 80's we were all somehow taught to hold an odd fear of drowning in quick sand, swallowing our gum, and getting sucked into the Bermuda Triangle, of all things, (heh), and I have to say I am still mildly traumatized by this lake story hours later. Eesh! . I hope one day Adam and Scott consider doing a full length vid on this, maybe revisiting the site where they became lake mud brothers for life? , lol or sometime during their sit around podcastey semi-retirement years maybe, of all that *really * went down that day. Thankfully, 🙏 ...omg omg omg.... Adam the Woo and ScottonTape DIDN'T go down that day..... and Grimm Life didn't have to....nevermind...but .duuuude...*shudder"...

A man after my own heart , I love all these little places.. i will be boondocking this hyway when and if we can get into the states from Canada again.!!
I was born in the Ely hospital and grew up in McGill. My grandfather's grave is in Cherry Creek. My father and his siblings rode horses all through the White Pine wilderness. My favorite thing was feeding the ducks in the pond outside of the Ely library after getting ice cream at Economy Drug. It has so much history for my family. I'm glad you got to enjoy it.
