I definitely took some Sanity damage during the Treasure Hunts and the "Endless Curling Purgatory" 🤕. But if you all enjoy the video, then that's what matters! 😇. But i'll never forgive that evil Metalmamemon, though. P.S: There is one item that i forgot to mention: The Coral Charm (Megaseedramon's item) can be, potentially, fished out of the Dragon Eye lake. There's a 1% chance of that happening when you lose your bait to a fish. Apologies for the miss! I remembered all about this... Until i started Curling 🤕.
No joke I been playing this game since I was three or four years old and it wasn't until I was TWENTY-FOUR when I finally fished up a coral charm for the first time ever 🤣🤣🤣
I've been replaying this game for the last few days and I ended up getting the Koga Laws from the Treasure Dig yesterday. 😮💨 For the first time ever. This was actually my first PS1 game I got when I was like 10.
In my Universe people thought the Pokemon protagonist sounded annoying and the show bombed. Even Monster Hunter was more successful than Pokemon. Were on our 7th Season of Adventure and our 4th Season of Tamers just started. They released a card scanner App for the new season and I'm raising a Platinum Etemon on my Apple Watch. Seems you guys weren’t as lucky?
Yeah like imagining if youtube was as popular as it is now back when this game came out lol, this would be the type of videos people would make about it
I've finished DM1 multiple times, maxed prosperity and recruited all digimon, beat all bosses, cleared Mt Infinity etc. I've even collected all cards... And some of these I have never seen. I had no idea Calm Berry or Speed Leaf even existed tbh.
I play this games for years. Just recently found for the first time a ice mushroom... after 20 years and now you made this video and im sitting here wondering, there are nuts? berrys? chain melon in savana? What the f?
@@SenatorStink But i have a few hundred hours in the game, i would say more as the average player and still never saw a nut or a berry on the ground.. At least i got all digievolution items over time... i think But these berrys shatter my worldview a bit :D Got most of the ultra rare items but the food is complete new to me. The RNG is really something special in this game
Ngl, Drimogemons treasure hunt game is one of those things where if I made a digimon world game I'd have 3 Treasure hunt Digimon; once that unlocks the service, one that makes rarer items appear, and one that offers YOU the player a chance to go on a treasure hunting minigame
I've been enjoying the DW content man. The DW2 vids convinced me to go back and play it for RA achievements, as backwards as that might be. Was my first Digimon game, I've always loved it as unholy grindy as it is.
@@alexcebollero I've done my fair share of completions for almost every Digimon World game (except for Digimon World DS, that game was garbage, Dusk/Dawn were nice)
I used to be pretty good at the curling game as a kid, somehow I was much worse as an adult. Even after finally beating this game and learning so much about it, this is somehow the first time I've heard about Metalmamemon being a curling opponent. Good stuff.
i love how as you were talking about annoying sidequests that challenge mental fortitude at the beginning of the video you were showing a prime example of that very concept.............. i still have traumatic memories of it literally taking me OVER 12 HOURS to get the proper score on that blasted race years back, only to go over to the PS4 and clear it in just over 1 hour
Man, since I’ve start watching your videos about Digimon world one, I felt like playing it all over again… I remember that I was a kid, playing it with my father for hours and hours. He was pretty good at it! Now, its been seven years without him… But the memmories returned, and I can still feel the same way when my Digimon is about to evolve. Thanks mate!
I didnt know there were so many items you could get out on the wilds of digimon world, although I do remember getting one chain melon by chance from exploring in gear savanna in the many years I played! Good video, you have much more patience than I.
man your channel is so underrated, hope the algorithm hits you right, seems like you hit the spot with your newer digimon world related videos, im glad for you, 10k soon =)
HOw have I played this game several times over the years and NEVer heard of some of these items! I am so mad and so happy at the same time! *now I wanna play again*. Thanks for the great vid!
My first Digimon game was Digimon World 3 (or DW 2003 for those in the UK). My favorite Digimon was Guilmon as my first exposure to the franchise was the Tamers series. I absolutely loved the show and went back and watched the original series along with 02. I even played the previous games through rentals at my local movie rental store as a kid. Astonishingly enough, when I moved from my old childhood house into my current apartment, my copy of DW3 came with me along with my childhood PS2. This PS2 has been with me since I was about 5 or 6, nearly 20 years. Still works! I booted up my old save file and everything was exactly how I remembered it. The art style, the Digimon, the zones you traveled through, the story, etc. I miss those days.
Thank the algorithm gods for allowing me to see your content. I used to grind Digimon World back in the day. It was so much fun. Glad to see that there's lots of love for the classic games. They had so much personality, were full games, and were lots of fun. Hoping to see my faves get the respect they deserve. Missing the old days.
For the longest time many years back, I could have sworn I found a Chained Melon in that exact spot in Gear Savannah, but at the time googling did not get any results of Chained Melon randomly spawning. I chalked it up to me going crazy and remember wrongly, but now you confirmed my I was actually right. Thanks!
SO glad to have stumbled onto this channel! The PS1 Digimon games are so flawed and yet so nostalgic and fun Would love to see more challenge runs of Digimon World 1, or even 3 if you’re familiar with the game :)
I'm just glad to finally see dw1 played by someone else. I rented this game by far the most over any other game as a kid. I could not find a copy to purchase ever, but I always looked. I of course would only make it so far and if I didn't get the right mons in the right order it was like a dead end. I got back into this game when I found out about a year ago that there was basically a sequel and now I'm figuring out how to raise 2 instead of 1 lol.
when I saw you get to the part where you won the 3rd Metal Armor item i felt so bad for you I wanna give you a hug. have a good day man, I enjoyed the video very much. keep up the good work!
I- To this day i didnt know a lot of these holy- ... Thank you for your absolute service in showing all these items!! The curling purgatory zone tho 😭. Incidentally out of all the rare food items i think the only ones ive ever come across were the blue apple, orange banana, deluxe 'shroom, ice mushroom and, out of just barely wandering around savana? Heckin' Chain Melon 🤣 (it completelly caught me by surprise there during a newer playthrough years after my first).
The DeluxeMushroom if I remember correctly had a weird reoccurrence for me when I played DW1 so long ago. It showed up in a certain amount of frames away so if you find it and go a certain amount of frames away, you can come back and find it more easily and farm it more easily. I could also be very wrong mind you but I remember farming those and getting plenty of them when I found out where they spawned. I may also be a masochist farmer for doing so when I was young. Funnily enough this was the first game I got when I got my PS1.
The wildest, and rarest item I managed to get from DW 1 was through fishing. I got the Coral Charm one daw after wrapping up training my Centarumon. Fished at the Dragon Eye Lake (the one with the vending machine woth a regular rod, kept fishing till an item snagged along the line pulling back) and then boom! Coral Charm in the flesh! Young 12 y/o me was estatic and gave it to Centarumon and easily can opened the game till Seadramon passed away after fighting in the Misty Trees.
Great video andd topic. I know I got lucky and saw some. That curling bs was so annoying and def didnt bother. You put so much time and effort. Keep up the good work
I've been playing this game for more than twenty years and have multiple playthroughs on my channel, and I didn't even know that some of these items existed.
That intro made me laugh, these videos are awesome man digimon world 1 is such nostalgia for me, i friggin sucked ass at it and maybe got 2 ultimates using a guide but i loved every minute
Wow!!! I remember the deluxe mushroom as it was yesterday 😂😂 I had a couple of them but my game was 7 or 8 or more years and u hadn't beat machinedramon once!! I remember I was afraid of the mount infinity as child so I was doing anything but that😂 I never knew what they did. I was keeping them in the storage
tip about the Digipine : - give it to your digimon - don't give him any food until he dies. (let him be starved) You get permanent boost effect even he digivolves.
When Digimon World already drives one crazy, it does it again. I didn't even knew some of these items existed. Reminds me when I found Marble Meat in Next Order. As for the Metal Mamemon thing. I guess he wanted more Metal Peas to form a Metal Pod.😅 Crazy that he has all the Mini Mons/Pea Mons evolution item. Then again he's the best one. Thank you for the video. Hopefully the madness is over...for now. 😁
I'm pretty sure the Deluxe Mushroom in Native Forest "behind the Toilet" means the one top right of the Screen where you have the Double Battle. There's a normal Mushroom Spawn, and right next to it a Deluxe Mushroom Spawn. Like with the Etemon Screen where you found it, there's a normal spawn right next to it too.
The rarity of most of these items make me think that they were never intended to be found in the same playthrough. They're neat to come across though almost all of the items aren't worth hunting for. I am surprised that you called the prickly pear "mediocre" though. It's a very useful item for fixing your digimon's weight for specific digivolutions as it means you have a semi-reliable way to reduce your weight without making care mistakes. I'd also consider it to be the counterpart to the big berry.
I found admirable how many japanese media try to teach the player about some of the fundamental ideals of the japanese people, be patience, persistence, fortitude and etc but some of these are beyond insanity Cuddos for your persistence you are awesome 👑
Nice, cool challenge. There were a few ones I've never seen before, namely the Calm Berry, the Muscle Yam, the Speed Leaf (I really disliked Freezeland and avoided it as much as I could, only going there for max bits and recruitments), the Rooster, and the Small Spear.
Funny story: I only used Drimogemon's service once in the years upon years I've played this game. The item I got from that single time was the Torn Tatter.
More digimon contents! Omg ima gonna subs this guy and hope he continues doing more digimon stuff or even more playthrough. Also for those 4 items 2% chance items drop only 1 of them can drop at time and they OVERLAP. when i thought getting Terraria's Coin Gun/Rod of Discord or Terraria Calamity's earlier version to get Halibut Cannon from abyss creatures was rare with that 0,01% or whatever chance is that was incredibly rare... 😅
Apparently you can guarantee the spawn rate of *Ice Mushroom* if you sleep and save on the spot where Birdra Transport drops you at Freezeland, restart the game then load the save where you left off.
I didn't know all those stat boosting items and few other existed before I played randomizer. Also I'm surprised flaming wing and rooster are that rare because I got them a lot as a kid
I was really hoping you will include that 1% item for digivolving to megaseadramon while fishing. That was the item I kept grinding to get back in the days but to no luck.
It's funny that there's a weird duality where Digimon World 1 will let you break the challenge by making it easy to buy stacks of cheap floppies to spam in and out of battle. While also being the best way to increase Digimon's happiness/discipline with a floppy if they refuse it and you scold them. But when exploring the game is incredibly harsh on item finding, by making food items that don't even have that great effects and can't be used in battle incredibly rare, and then also gives a bunch of them drawbacks. As if raising happiness or discipline a bit, or reducing weight a bit is some gamebreaker. "Better make the Mushroom that increases happiness rare, though we better balance it by a decent chance of making them Digimon sick" "But let's allow the player to stack and spam HP/MP floppies in battle and trivialise everything with no draw back"
Something that I remember happened to me that I have never seen anyone speaking about it is a store that a betamon opens in the upper left area before The dragon lake. Really I remember this happening to me playing so many years ago
all the rare stat boosting items are done to balance boosting items (I think) because the chips are limited outside the expensive trades w/ geckomon. And the other stat boosts give negative effect like lowering life span.
As soon as you unlock centauromon the happy mushroom is worth it. But you will get way more of them then you actually need. Based on the assumption you don't intentionally farm them, as you get enough of them anyways. Seriously, 10% on that many screens, you will get enough.
Given how much backtracking and re-exploring this game actually demands without a guide or a lot of experience with this game, some of these screens will be visited enough for the player to see most of them at some point. And though yeah, their odds oughta be higher for what they actually do, I think they're more meant as little lucky rewards to give you something nice every now and again than actually farmable items. That being said, Happy Mushroom, the bananas and the golden acorn are the only ones I actually ever did find by myself when I was a kid.
For the last curling game you should just evolve a digimon into metal mamemon in front of him. maybe having a metal partner could help you get the other items XD
Man, I never found any of these items besides the Happyshroom. The official guide I had didn't even mention these... Then again, that guide didn't even have the Digivolution requirements for the three Mega Ultimates (H-Kabuteri, Phoenix, and M-Seadra) in the game. :/
