You’ve had quite the evolution on this channel, went from Yu-Gi-Oh, to regular internet reviewer, to Hitman, to Yakuza, to PS2 Action Game Connoisseur.
Renting Berserk Guts' Rage from a Blockbuster was my first exposure to Berserk. It was a cool fantasy action game. Controls were not even an issue at the time of release. There's a variety of moves to use, depending on your surroundings. Jump attack bypasses any sword-bouncing off of the walls issues.
Seeing the Seven Samurai game on here is wild, I played this but it always felt like a fever dream because nobody else did. Glad to know that I'm only slightly insane.
blood will tell is definitely the most interesting of this batch i have seen people make fun of it for being wierd and anime and always found it kind of strange
Cvit, have you ever played Robot Alchemic Drive? Mech action game, but a slower one because it really emphasizes the sheer mass of giant mechs. It's basically "Pacific Rim: The Anime: The Game" and I love it SO much
Saw your note on Backloggd about Chaos Legion. Just note that the English version of the game received "balance" updates when Capcom released it in the US. Ostensibly to make it harder for Western audiences. They made the main character weaker to incentivize the player using the legions and added new enemies, but I think they also made upgrading the legions more expensive so overall the western version is more tedious.
Imagine having a copy of blood will tell, with the manual and in perfect condition. Then imagine you let a friend borrow it and they accidently leave it on a bus. I was so angry I wasn't angry. It was a weird level of anger that a person shouldn't hit.
And on the part where you have to push the final boss back I just used a super move instead of trying to time my combos. At least that is how I remember doing it. It has been over 7 years since ai last played it.
Been playing a lot of PS2 action games recently, and only played Swords of Destiny last week. I had to abandon it because I value my time too much, but I did get really far into it. You go through all of my frustrations with the game. Sword Time is a cool idea implemented poorly. Blood Will Tell is amazing (I'm one of those people that got it for like £15 a few months before it rocketed up in price) I've started to notice a pattern with games from this era, I also finished Onimusha 2 last week... Cool game, dogshit final boss.
Bumbles McFumbles did a very in-depth video on Blood Will Tell too sometime ago. I believe videos like these are a mash-up of some of Cvit's individual videos.
He releases a compilation video containing all the action game reviews he's done semi-recently (plus also adding additional info or corrections that have come to light afterward). Hence why this is Vol. 3. These compilations also begin with his "PS2 greatest console ever" preamble as well, to keep them more cohesive as part of this massive series (there's so many more games still that he's [most likely] planning on covering, it's honestly kind of ludicrous lol)
