Honestly, while I love 1993's Streets of Philadelphia (Philadelphia), I'm surprised that Will You Be There (Free Willy) wasn't nominated or won. Also, can you imagine if the entire 90s, Disney won for all their movie's songs, from Someday or Out There (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Go The Distance (Hercules), Reflection or True to Your Heart (Mulan), and My Funny Friend and Me (Emperor's New Groove)?

I don't understand why these "academics" hate Madonna that much. They have never nominated those Madonna soundtrack songs that were written by her. Live to Tell (1986), Who's That Girl (1987), This Used to Be My Playground (1992), I'll Remember (1994), Beautiful Stranger (1999), Time Stood Still (2000), Masterpiece (2011) should have been nominated for the Oscar. I'm just going to put this out there: Till It Happens to You (Lady Gaga and Dianne Warren) deserved that Oscar more than Writings on the Wall. AND Dianne Warren should have at least won two or three trophies for her excellent songwriting.
