Yes nice model I’m only a new modeller but it did bring back some memories as l started my footplate career at King Cross and would have driven most of them back in the day. (Glad they don’t replicate the terrible diesel fumes when we had to wait inside gas works tunnel to set back onto the train) 😂
Considering it's Accurascale's first loco (technically second I guess with the Irish model they released last year) it's mightily impressive from what I've seen. Absolutely raising the bar in terms of value for money and offering super detailed models at a reasonable price. Hopefully the 37s will be just as good as I have 3 coming my way and then if their Manors are of the same high standard, well then people will start asking questions of the major manufacturers over what their excuses are for releasing sub-par models at premium prices
Hi Matt, Very good and honest review of this new model from Accurascake. What we need now is one in N gauge for us guys that use this medium. All the best, Jon B.
Hi Matt, To smooth out the running try the following: set CV54=0. Then on a long stretch of track press F1. The loco will whizz forward & then stop. This will hopefully make it run a bit smoother. Please note: This is for ESU decoders only.
Hi Matt. I was hoping for my order for the same locomotive D9009 to arrive today. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday. It was nice to be able to see her up close.
Hi Matt. Agree with the slow start running, but what a model. Wish all classes were made to this level. Superb in my eyes. I have 5 and only 2 have the slow speed issue as you do. The other 3 are 100%. Good modelling and thanks for another brill video. Iain
I got D9009 from Rails, delivered on the 28.6.22 it had to go back quite a few little problems with it. 1x cab widow fell out, 1x chain snapped, 1x nose step (near buffer beam) missing and the speaker vibrates when setting off and horn sounds muffled and a small paint flaw near horn. Despite these minor but irritating issues it is a great model and great value. Rails quick to assist in returning the model. Hopefully will be sorted and then i can get back on the layout
Next Accurascale model that will be interesting to see will be the GWR Manor Class locomotives and it will have a comparison which will be a Dapol GWR Manor Class locomotive. Looking at this model I am expecting great things to see on a large steam locomotive.
Great review there Matt accurascale first locomotive is very good, I have 9021 Argyll and Sutherland highlander and it is fantastic, some of the negatives that I have are the lack of all lighting functions on analogue, on analogue you don’t get the engine room or cab lights which I think is a shame especially when other manufactured locomotives do allow DC users to have those features, a good example of a recently released locomotive is the heljan 18000 which allows all lighting functions on DC, another issue that I have experienced is the chains breaking and in fact it got so bad for me that a couple of days ago I glued the chain attachments to the body so they wouldn’t fall out, some other people on Twitter have reported this, it is overall a good locomotive but does have a couple of shortcomings, I haven’t had a bad experience with the couplings though on mine they are securely in place and didn’t come out when mine was hauling 6 mk2 coaches.
I got 55015 TULYAR and it runs really well at all speeds I got it from rail's of Sheffield I didn't get the sound fitted locomotive as I only have a dc layout and use the hm6000 controller with my mobile phone
Good review of a very nice model. Hopefully my KOYLI 55002 should be arriving Monday according to UPS, yes folks Locomotion still have this up for grabs at this moment all the others have gone.
Hi Matt. Why did you expect perfect running straight out of the box? Yes, you did make a couple of references to running in the loco, but rather grudgingly. Love him or hate him, my go-to guy for reviews is Sam's Trains. Yes, he does a test run straight out of the box, but always makes the proviso that the model has yet to be run in - this usually improves the model's performance.
Matthew no issues at all tho it new it might have get little problems but theses may be slight and can be lron out over time. On its running around the layout it sounds so suburb and be nice to have its charter soon. JJ
Got both preserved variants from Rails with sound...absolute perfection from Accurascale. In regards to moving at speed steps 1 or 2, perhaps try running it in for a couple of hours first and try again which should smooth it out.
