Excellent review, have the same one plus 7 others on order from their batches and too be honest knocks the Bachmann version out of the park in every way, this is such a beautiful model and the best sounding Class 37 on the market today and nothing else comes close.
An excellent video even towards the end where the class 37 opened up heading through Jubliee Road international station plus from the start it just look so amazing and fantastic to look at by its quality sound and it's lights.
Hi Matt, Just to clarify which end is which. In most cases, the fan(s) are located at the No.1 end (exception to this are class 52 & 55 as they have 2 sets of roof fans). On a Class 37, the vacuum exhauster is located in the No.1 end nose as is the DSD isolation cock and the bogie brake release cock (cow tail). The air compressors are found in No.2 nose. So when working on these locos you never had a quiet cab, unlike the 47s.
Hi Matt, great honest review, i have 3 different model of this on order, they look amazing in so many ways, can't fault the value for money, i can't wait to get mine in May, thanks for sharing.
Nice model there Matt. I have to be honest. These are better than Bachmann. Not sure if these have the powered rotating fan like the new Bachmann model does but I think I will get an Accurascale model instead. I like how Accurascale are socking it to Bachmann and Hornby when it comes to quality.
Great overview of the model here Matt, from what I have seen so far it’s a nice model but the sound ones do have some shortcomings mainly the cold start sound which is missing, I’m personally going to go for the bachmann ones which right now the standard versions without sound are retailing for not that much more than the standard accurascale ones, they are also widely available, those are my reasons for sticking with and eventually buying the bachmann one, hope you enjoy your accurascale one, it looks great in the intercity livery.
You have to admit the Accurascale Class 37 is a much better loco thus your post is a bit strange to say the least considering you still want to pay more for the Bachmann version and there is a reason why the AS 37 has sold out everywhere and the Bachmann one hasn't but each to their own.
@@sapphirejunction8993 I knew you would be here eventually especially with how much of an AS fanboy that you are and the fact that you have had a prejudice against the bachmann 37 since it was first announced and is further proved by comments such as “knocks the bachmann version out of the park in every way” which ok is your opinion but even you have to admit both the bachmann and accurascale 37s are literally the same model with the same features and to be honest they have very little differences between them, if you actually bothered to read what I put you would see that I have said that it’s a very nice model and I’m not denying that, just because I would be paying more for the bachmann version which is a good model might I add doesn’t make it strange what so ever, bachmann standard ones now are retailing around the £189 mark which is excellent for a model like that and at the end of the day it’s my own money that’s being used to pay for it after all, so what if the AS one has sold out and the bachmann one hasn’t, you act as though that’s a bad thing so why is the bachmann one being available such a bad thing in your eye? Also so what if the bachmann one hasn’t been selling and has been reduced in price, again you make it sound like a bad thing but who doesn’t like the chance to get a great model for a discounted price especially in a hobby where things are expensive, standard accurascale ones without sound when originally available were £170 if I’m not mistaken so if I get the bachmann one without sound because I’m not dcc at the moment at the current prices I’m seeing them at I’m not even paying that much more for it and at the end of the day its a good model, sorry if it takes you a long time to accept that, but it is, it’s more than acceptable to have on a layout, finally it’s my own money being used to pay for the model and you have no control over my money or my decision so run along AS fanboy, it’s a bachmann version for me, you can’t and won’t change that.
@@sapphirejunction8993 Well it was obviously a waste of my time responding to you wasn’t it but then it’s not surprising because fanboys can never accept being told certain things, in future don’t respond to my comments if your not willing to read the replies I will give you, my original reply to you had perfectly valid points but of course you can’t accept them can you, enjoy the 37 that you currently have, without the cold start sound of course, I will enjoy the bachmann version that I will eventually get.
@@davidstrains4910 accurascale have said that the 37 Original project has a cold start, and they are recording one for the refurbished programme. They also have a wheel slip, something the B doesn't (and a stay alive, and twin speakers, and more detailing, better glazing, and two types of plough that look to scale, oh and cheaper!)
That sounds incredible I want my small layout set up for DCC but I don't think it'll be worth the investment not even 30ft worth of track on my small shunting layout
Fantastic isn’t it! I particularly love the flange squeal sensors so it only activates when on a curve!! If anyone can explain to me how the spirax valve sound works…? I can’t get that one to work
@Stephen McC I really hope that's the case and its not just triggered off the controller. I'm running mine on Saturday so I guess I'll know then, I asked them on Facebook a few weeks ago and they said they'd be fitted from the 31 onwards, sorry if I sounded rude, it'd love them to have it. I was quite suprised when I read their response if I'm honest.
Hi Matt, Good review of this loco, the sound quality is very good. In answer as to which end is which, the cab forward of the fan housing is Cab A or No 1 end and the other cab is Cab B or No 2 end, depending on which era you are representing... Take care, Jon B.
Matt Hi, I have the exact same model, but when I first turn the sound on it sometimes cuts out after 2 seconds and the only way to get any sound back is to remove and restore track power ?
@@Ste1952 Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work, I left it for 30 secs, 60 secs & 120 secs, but it still cuts out. I see @danielbonham9336 had the exact same issue but I can't contact him to see if he solved it...
