LJJ is a famous Korean actor who could barely string two sentences together in English. Seeing him speaking fluently in this is a testament to his efforts in learning the language, not an easy task

Well keep in mind acting and line delivery is very different from language in an interview too. I was always thrown off when I was a kid in seeing Antonio Banderas's grasp of english in films vs interviews. I guess my point is he might still sound the same as you describe in an interview, even though he comes off fluent on the show. I could be wrong, too - I've just seen that disconnect with other actors.

I think if anything, the jedi in this might actually find out the sith/dark side are coming back in this but maybe deletes the history from the archives since what we are led to believe that there are none at this time

22:06 yeah in the legend stories Han & Leia had three kids. Jaina & Jacen (twins) and Anakin. 41:11 I love how Joonas gets to have his own wookie. With Chewbacca he was following Peter’s lead on how Chewy’s personality is. With Kelnacca no other person has portrayed him before. 48:37 everytime I hear Osha’s name I keep thinking of the overseer of workplace safety.

I don't really trust the word of someone who has only ever been trained by a dark sider. But also, that Jedi reminds me of the type of cop that pulls his gun out during traffic stops - not exactly a shining example of a good Jedi and maybe even more of a foreshadowing of the type of Jedi we see in the Skywalker Saga.

The Inquisitors pointed out in "Kenobi" that innocent bystanders are the weakness of the Jedi. Mae threw the dagger at the bartender to distract Indara. You can hear the "squelch" of the other dagger piercing Indara's heart an instant after she stopped the first dagger.

Yea doesn't change the fact that her moves were very obvious and I saw it coming a mile away. It also doesn't change people have been surviving lightsabers sword to the gut and walk it off. And it also doesn't change the fact in the very next episode it is expblished force shields are a thing. So no matter what you say it doesn't change the fact that her death was unfair and forced for plot sakes.

@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord just because her moves are obvious doesn't mean anything, second part I agree with you, the third part it's established Force Shields do exist yes but look at the context around it the Jedi Master was meditating and he was able to have a Force Shield up at that time. Listen to only be something and you can do while calm and meditating. If you're throwing off In the heat of battle you're not going to be able to concentrate you're not going to be able to remain calm.

Look at Sol's face after he told Jeckie he knows Mae is dead. I think the Four hid Mae away and only took one twin to the Temple because there would be some kind of "issue" with training both. The Master found and trained her and is using her anger at the Four for his/her/their own agenda against the Jedi.

@@owenmackenzie579 My guess is the Jedi were responsible for the death of her family, not Mae. They may have sensed the dark side duality of her and had orders to execute her. (Jedi Dogma?) Seems like they knew who her family was and happened to be close by.... They pointed out that her training was started abnormally late.

We just saw Obi-Wan disconnect from the Force for a decade and struggle to get it back. Not sure it's such a surprise that a padawan didn't complete her training and who hasn't been practicing is struggling to use the Force again?

He disconnected on purpose and was so masterfull with the force it made sense he could do that. We dont know she purposely disconnected from the force or not. It would make no sense for her to do that because shes not hiding from jedi killers. Basically my point is comparing her to Obi-Wan doesn't make sense.

@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord the point is one of the most powerful Jedi cut himself off of the Force for 10 years and was barely able to move anything the first time he tried using the Force again. This is a padawan who didn't even complete her training and hasn't been training for 8(?) years, it doesn't surprise me that she struggles to connect with the Force or use it competently again.

@@Vulcanerd but she didn't disconnect from the force. And it would makes no sense she wouldn't keep using the force. Those are the 2 things that differ and make a comparison to Obi-Wan invalid. Obi-Wan only had trouble because he disconnected purposely.

Years. It's no surprise she has problems trying to use it competently again.

Carrie Ann Mos gave Mae a look as if to say, don't do this, right before Mae threw the dagger at the bar owner. At that point she knew she would die because she knew what she was about to do. The look was to say, you will have an opening don't take it. That's what I got from that.

I asked the same thing about the fire outside. So did Late to the Party. I think either the gas seen outgassing is oxygen, or there is a flammable fuel in the line, that has its own oxidizer.

Look at the 4 Jedi now. 1 took a job beneath her skill and rank on some backwater planet when she should be on the council. 1 took a 10 vow of silence as penance 1 took a teaching job instead of fieldwork. And the last is living in exile in a derelict ship They did something bad for sure. You could see it on Sol's face, Endara's surprise at seeing Mae's face. Plus how fast he took the poison.

Why would Yord's Padawan not be on the mission, too?!?!? How is he to train her if she is not there? We see Jeckie learn within the first two episodes. Even making a very good plan on Olega.

Uhm, special mission it seems she is his first Padawan, and she doesn't seem far along her training as Jecki or even Osha (although she has not used the force for 6 yrs). There were missions Anakin AND Obi Wan went on, and Ahsoka wasn't there. This is not a rare occurence.

Maybe it depends on who is in command of the mission. In the Osha capture mission, Yord is in charge so he is allowed to decide to bring his Padawan. In the current mission, Master Sol is in charge, and perhaps he decided he only needs Yord as part of the small team.

fire in space in star wars works however it's worked since the original trilogy and the prequels, which had fire & sound in space. everyone stop acting like you care/know about strict realism in movies. thor had 100 chances to kill thanos before thanos snapped. just enjoy art please before the apocalypse.

6:00 Spaceships flying like jets in an atmosphere don't bother you, but fire in space does? Ummm, okay. EDIT: 24:13 Masters and Apprentices are connected through the Force though, you could say that they are "attached," the overlooked attachment that Jedi know is unavoidable. Palpatine is connected to Darth Vader Anakin was connected to Ahsoka, still is as evidenced by her series Ahsoka is connected to Sabine Kanin was connected to Ezra Obi-Wan was connected to Anakin And the list goes on. That unique connection that masters have with their apprentices' gives them a uniquely deep perspective that others overlook/are blind to see. Sol believing Osha isn't surprising to me; it's par for the course.

i believe the gas that the pressure valve is spewing into space is likely air or oxygen or some kind of oxidizer. think about it we use rockets to travel in space so how are they able to burn? the reason is they use liquid oxygen. so you can start a fire in space so long as you bring your own oxygen. (the real strange thing though is that fire reacts strangely in zero g. apparently in space fire will form a sphere and they burn slower and cooler than they do in gravity.)

Fire is only possible in two cases when it comes to "space": (1) in case you are not actually in space but rather in a different atmosphere which allows a flame to exist, that is to undergo the equivalence of oxidation and (2) it is in space but there is a leak of gas, e.g. oxygen, closely around where the flame exists, this gas may be enough to sustain the flame while it feeds it.

I think the Jedi, particularly Sol, wanted to avoid Mae and Osha coming into contact. Mae might very well be the only other person that may know what the Jedi are lying about. A big thing about the Jedi in this show is that they are very manipulative. With people. With the truth. I fully expect OSHA to lose faith in the Jedi and join her sister. At least that’s what I hope.

I agree. These girls grew up together and were initially raised by the same mothers, so they will definitely be similar. Even identical twins separated at birth are often incredibly similar. Nature can sometimes outweigh nurture in shaping who we are.

I just don't give a fuck anymore what the internet says about a show. So many people being hurt and dramatic which is okay, but it's mostly not my opinion so I just watch it first and see if I like it. With this one, I did. It's fun to see the Jedi order as we've been told, as keepers of the peace throughout the galaxy. Gotta take the stuff the internet says always with a grain of salt these days. People like hating on shit, cause they feel heard and connected then. Don't take it too serious and have fun! :)

When Sol said he saw Mae die, I thought it was pretty obvious he was hiding something. He believes Osha because he already knew Mae survived. My own theory is the four jedi clearly did something bad and covered it up, he was supposed to not let Mae get away and he let her go because he couldn't off a kid. So he lies and says Mae is dead.

I remember my grandma told me, I don't care what they taught you in school but Anakin Skywalker blew up the Death Star and there's nogood and evil in Star Wars Don't forget major plot holes..nah.. plot craters 1.they Identify DEI stronge female also immediately from the other side of the galaxy by a random alien barkeep, what he'd probably describe her as black human female with dreads and they identify her out of billions of people who would fit the same description. 2. They send a Jedi Knight and a Padawan to arrest a assassin who killed a Jedi Master. 3. They arrest her and instead of escorting her with them, they put her in a prisoner transport. From their perspective she is strong enough to kill a Jedi Master. 4. Why the heck would DEI male Jedi Knight be streaming his cloak in the common area where everyone passes through? 5. The Jedi don't draw their weapons unless they're ready to kill, literally later on DEI male Jedi Knight draw his lightsaber to use as a torch. The characters and story are written as intelligent as the writers themselves are, and Disney Star wars writers severely lack the intellect to write something as lore heavy and beloved I.P as this.

I'm liking the show so far (I'm just 2 eps in) but one thing that's been nagging me is that for me the vibe of the show has been more Star Trek than Star Wars, and I'm a fan of both so this isn't a dis. But Jaby's point of the "smallness" of the production is a partial answer. It *feels* like a pre-streamer TV show in the use of tight sets-few exteriors, not even via Volume it seems. But I think bigger reason is that most Star Wars narratives begin away from the centers of power to follow a lone individual in their journey from a routine existence to one of adventure or great import, so that the world of Republic, Empire, New Republic, Outer Rim, et al is revealed in bigger and bigger swings of the plot.With the Acolyte we're thrown right into a police procedural so that the immediate setting is one with a clear and rigid hierarchy of responsibility (the Jedi Order), much like that of a Federation Starship. There's nothing wrong with that-it's just another angle or genre in the vast SW universe, like the Western vibe of Mando season 1 or the political thriller vibe of Andor. I guess that as someone who hasn't read the books I'm wanting broader world-building to distinguish this newly depicted era from the others.

I liked the first two episodes. I like the characters of Mae/Osha and very intriguing what happens. Overall I think the dialogue and pacing is weak, however I’m still looking forward to the next ones. It’s not a desaster, but definitely not a masterpiece either. Let’s see how the ride goes … so far 7/10 for me

I'm really enjoying the show as well! I did not like the opening scene because what jedi master wouldn't have noticed the second dagger? But the rest is great so far.
