Hilarious timing that this was uploaded minutes after the Star Wars youtube channel revealed Darth Jar Jar.

When he says: " she was my student.. let me be the one to bring her in. " he's obviously talking to the council. Which means... Yoda!!!

That quote from Episode 1 was false when it came out of Ki-Adi Mundi's mouth. They literally had just witnessed a Sith and the council didn't believe them. Perfectly shows where the Jedi were weak in their hubris. Previous encounters were obviously also dismissed, and it wasn't until Sidious that he could finally come out of the shadows since he had a plan in place to take out the Jedi. But he clearly had a master and had been in existence for how long? How long was Plagueis around for without the Jedi ever knowing? and who was his master? etc.

I guess anyone that sees that lightsaber has to die, or the Jedi try and cover up the truth...

I don't normally comment, but my goodness just seeing a reaction that expresses enthusiasm and an open mind toward a new star wars production brings me back to my childhood of just feeling unbridled excitement and joy at a new genre trailer. Life is short, enjoy what matters most to you and let others enjoy it if it works for them... even if it's not your thing. Big thumbs up to you guys!

When it comes to the sith can’t be seen thing, I think the title of the show hints that we may not see a whole lot of sith in this show. An acolyte is defined as an assistant to a religion or religious figure, essentially. So maybe the show follows force users who are sith worshipers

It's important to remember the Jedi council was already wrong about the Sith being back. Who's to say the Sith actually never left and Jedi who survived simply went into hiding for their own safety? Also, the jedi in Phantom Menace just chose to dismiss even the notion of a Sith return. Their ignorance was their downfall

Not Palpatine of course he’s not alive yet. Appreciate you guys bringing that up!

I’m calling it now, that dude is going to end up being the leader of the Knights Of Ren during this era…he looks just like them, and in the lore they’re stated to have been an ongoing order since before the Old Republic. The Sith can’t be out here fighting 7 Jedi during a time when they’re meant to be in hiding, this guy is going to be the *”Ren”* who is hired by the Sith to get rid of the Jedi who may be getting close to the truth.

Not necessarily. I feel the jedi will brush this under the carpet. Because when Maul is mentioned to the council only one member says its impossible. But Windu and Yoda don't speak up about it. I feel the jedi in this time are to sure of themselves!

I saw the trailer the morning of the 4th then saw the sneak peak at the end of the 4th and seeing all the sabers and force push on big screen was a treat

Am I the only one who isn’t thinking Sith, but Abeloth? The one Jedi’s eyes going all black, the dark sider with a helmet that’s got a wide teethy grin and the Dark Side Cultists? It’s not the Sith, It’s the Mother, Abeloth. This is setting up the villain for The New Jedi Order.

Yeah I agree, I don't pay any attention of the toxic hate crap. I always go into a movie or series with an open clear mind and I decide for myself. Yeah I'll listen to others, but at the end of it all I will make the decision.

I dont know if we can imply that they die. The scene where tkey say the line about not seeing sith they are literally denying that Qui Gon saw one. And the fact that he died to them was the proof that it was a sith. If they see someone with a red lightsaber i wouldnt put it past the jedi at the height of their power to deny that it was actually a sith

I think the trailer looks promising. And couldn’t the ”fact” that the Sith haven’t been seen in a 1 000 years be explained with the few Jedi that know covering the whole thing up by the end because the truth is deemed too troubling or dangerous in their mind? Or to not embolden others to question their ”rule”, stricken from the records? We did learn that just because something isn’t in the Jedi archives it very well could exist.

I've heard the chatter about the negativity around this show and I noticed a lot of the comments for this trailer on the official channel were pretty negative. I understand broadly speaking why people are getting into an uproar over it. On one hand, a lot of the recent material has been a mixed bag, but a lot of the hate is also disingenuous and honestly, Star Wars always has been a mixed bag. Sometimes, I just have to stop paying attention when there's a lot of criticism for a show that hasn't even aired. Judge it for how much I enjoy it. I am looking forward to it, but if it sucks, then it sucks and I'll move on with my life. I will say that it did spur me into listening to audio books for the main novels of the High Republic while at work. It's a nice change of pace from the depressing historical literature on Eastern Europe that I've been listening to lately. In any case, I appreciate your guys' positive and open-minded outlook and that's partly why you're my go to for Star Wars reactions.

I don’t see why people are so monumentally pissed over the fact that Ki-Adi-Mundi said that the Sith have been dead for a millennia but there’s a Sith in this show, a mere few hundred years before he said that in TPM. Since this show is a murder mystery and we’re getting heavy direction towards exposing the lies of the Jedi, I think it’s totally plausible that the Jedi tried covering up the events of the acolyte to improve their perceived strength and peace-bringer image. It would make sense to do this since the fall of the Jedi was happening for around 100 years before order 66. The Jedi were growing lazy and arrogant without threat for so long that since the events of acolyte likely shook the Jedi, they wanted to save face and deny it ever happened, boosting galactic relations with them and keeping the republic as a close ally. Also Mundi was known to be a real douchebag so I totally believe that he has no problem with lying to the galaxy. It all makes total sense to me, I think people are just looking for any opportunity they can to crap on it. That’s Star Wars fans for ya.

I honestly respect all or your responses to the trailer. There are too many people out here wanting to hate for no reason at all. I know WE all want a good story, development and so on. But all this pre-judging before something comes out and not having full context of the show itself is stupid. Has there been ups and downs in Star Wars yes, but before people complain watch the show in it's entirety then make an informed decision.

Like Aaron I got to watch The Acolyte sneak peak after The Phantom Menace in theaters. I must say I'm hooked. What still baffles me was that I walked out with my brother and he was completely negative about it. He couldn't even give me a proper reasoning behind it beyond whos involved in making it or that it's another live action Disney Plus show. Nothing about what was actually on screen. I was a real buzzkill, so I'm glad I get to watch you guys gush over it.

The knights of Ren taught me to be cautious with the hype about cool helmets, I really hope that this tv show is good and that they will lead to some old republic as well!

they advertised Carrie-Anne Moss for this show, and i've got the feeling she'll be killed in the first episode, they should have kept her as a secret to surprise fans instead.

There is reason for doubt in star wars live action series these days cause the recent shows have not been hitting recently. There is interesting premise here with this show but concern is not unjust. Give it a chance in the beginning, but batting down all opposing views is pretty blasphemous considering the Disney Star Wars track record recently. (Outside of anything animated)

I don't stay "In the know" with the star wars fandom because I find most of the fanbase to be insufferable anymore, but can someone please explain to me why The Acolyte is getting shit on when both of the trailers have been perfectly fine? I'm actually glad we're finally doing something in a different period from where most of Star Wars has been so far and yet....everyone hates it.
