I’m gonna be that guy 🙃: if you had 300 IQ you’d realize it’s a quotient, not a direct measurement. 500IQ is technically functionally identical to 400IQ and both are technically impossible. Thank you for your time 🤓

On the topic of statistical analysis of Balatro, something to note: Firstly, I can't find anything other than some simulations. Secondly, analyze a single specific run, or what? Ideally automate playing the game to: 1. start game 2. Discard 5 cards 3. Take screenshot of hand (for late calculation) 4. Rinse and repeat Then run the numbers. Sounds like turbo nerd shit, or Localthunk can SHOW US THE CODE

The initial drawing of 4 cards to a 4-flush leaves you 9 outs out of a 44 card deck, which is going to hit about 61% of the time and miss 39%. So it's not as much of a lock as one might think. Of course since the cards are not replaced the second draw has a slightly better chance at hitting (about 66%), and so on. Side note: the best Thai restaurant I ever ate at was in Oklahoma.

I was one of those Ritalin kids everybody seemed to like to lampoon for the following decade or so. 😮‍💨 Synesthesia isn't a disability though is it? I think of it like aphantasia, in that it is more of an inexpressible perceptual difference.

Assuming a 1 in 4 chance to draw each suit, the odds of drawing 8 non-clubs is (3/4)^8≈10%. A 5 card redraw with no clubs is (3/4)^5≈23.7%. Both happening is 2.4%, and a draw and 2 redraws is 0.6%
