Scobell was excellent. Within 2 minutes he had me convinced I was looking at Ryan Reynolds as a kid. I really liked the conversations between the Adam’s. Everyone’s got something they wish they could say to their past/future selves. It was a lot sadder then I’d hoped but only cause it brings out the onion cutting ninjas. I gotta ask the question here: how much “extra” did it work simply because it’s we are used to seeing all these Marvel Actors in the exact same role; I watched this and Gamora was blasting away, deadpool was doing leaps, flips and being sassy.. hulk was being a scientist, still screwing around with time travel. It’s Endgame but the villain is “Human Greed”.

The moment with Ryan and mark when he keeps telling him he loves him, over and over was so touching. It just sucks that he won’t remember when he gets back to his timeline. :(. But that moment made me cry a lot.

He won’t remember it because “Big Adam After the Mess was Fixed” won’t NEED to remember it. Since they fixed the whole time mistake, that meant that the future was CHANGED to Adam having no hate towards his father AT ALL. This “I love you” moment was only shared because Adam hated his father for “not being there”, but once the formula was destroyed afterwards there would be nothing really for his father to find, because it NOW didn’t exist. It’s like it never happened. That being said, if the father didn’t try finding something that no longer exists, he WOULD spend time with baby Adam. Therefore, he wouldn’t need that whole speech to be said in the first place because he would now be raised full of love. (Plus, once the thing was distorted, his memory was earased so he already forgot all of the hate and sadness he felt… *it never happened* 😉)

They really did excellent casting Walker Scobell to be the younger version of Ryan. You could really believe that they were the same person decades apart, from their appearances, to their sarcastic banter.

Na I don’t agree with the appearance but I’ve always been good at seeing faces. I agree though the kid did a good job at delivering lines just like Ryan would. But I’m sure they coached the kid hope to see him in other projects cuz I did like the kids acting

Throughout the movie, they say Sorian basically ended up wanting all the power and to be in total control and that he died in a car accident. I literally interpreted this as Sorian arranging an ‘accident’ so that she had total control of the project. With her past self dead, surely now he won’t even get into the accident in the first place?

I award you a Platinum Medal for Mental Gymnastics. As I can't dispute anything you said. I don't think I will remember this in the top 10 movies of 2022, but it is a very special movie. The Adam vs Adam relationship made the movie, if it had not been Walker, it wouldn't have worked.

I hadn't noticed how the opening and closing songs reflect the movie themes so well. I loved how it told a really human story of parents and children, in the context of time travel and humor and good fight scenes. And Walter Scobell really did channel Ryan Reynolds. They were convincing as a single character.

I had trouble with the dad still dying. Someone commented that maybe it was “his time to die”, i.e.predestination (things have to happen at a fixed time). This totally contradicts the premise of the movie where they are literally changing the future. So, I couldn’t understand why the father died now that Sorian was no longer alive to kill him. Totally confused me. The only explanation that made sense to me was that she didn’t ever kill him herself, just took advantage of the fact that he did? (Edited for clarity. It didn’t post under the comment I had open, so required further explanation.)

I had this same hang up too but then I remembered Ryan Reynold's character saying that the timeline had already been altered by Sorian in the first place. That they were just going back to "correct" it. I'm guessing his father was always meant to die. Of course, I could have it all wrong still lol

Sorian only steal his project, well actually not stealing since she is the owner of the project.. and adam father died cause car accident without sorian involvement.. if u remember the mature sorian only said that she kill adams wife twice but never mention killing him, and she cried when try to kill adams father implied that she actually never did it, so thats new for her and she actually miss him when he died.. sorian is not completely evil, I believe he start become evil after the dad died.. and he having time travel project without morality guidance from the dad

I think that's where the movie fails. By them changing the past to what it should be completely changes the paths of every character. If he died of natural causes it makes sense but it was a car accident. The chances are that he wouldn't still be in that same accident after the events of the ending.

Shawn Levy did a great job with this movie and Free Guy. He totally gets Ryan’s comedy and I think he’ll do a killer job with Deadpool 3

I think the movie works simply because of the great actors. It wasn’t the best, but had a great message. Ultimately, make time and tell the people you love that you love them while you still can.

Wonderful movie. First movie in 10 years which i never skipped few minutes forward every 20mins. Just superb job for all and everything . Cast, plot, music, 80s vibe. Some flashbacks about movies like “short circuit” or “Flight of the Navigator”.

I liked this cause it’s fantastical premise but the problems are deep for the complex relationships. Deeper than other movies just based off feelings and loss. It’s more real that what you would think the feelings are they change over time. Also, that the change is better and worse but never black and white.

The only thing that bugged me was the continuity error as the future security forces smashed through the back patio windows and pretty much ransacked the living room in the process but when the Adams and the dad came back everything was clean. Wth... 🤣 Edit: 2022 vs 2018🤦🏽‍♂️ Nevermind 😅

The problem I had with the movie was finding it. I'm a librarian, but somehow no libraries seemed to have the DVD. Likewise, Amazon only had one copy left of it, but they had to have Etsy sell it to me. In the end, I loved this movie like I love all Ryan Reynold's movies. But this one tied up all the lose ends where Definitely Maybe didn't. Green Lantern is the equal of this one.

I’m a 52 year old father of 3. I cried so many times watching this movie. To think of dying and my kids did not mentally make it is heartbreaking. I would reverse time and die a 1000 deAths for them to be ok without me. Great family movie

Here is my theory: The time gradually corrects itself remember, It took a few hours for the two Adams in the end to disappear. Every time it tries to be fixed, her older self will be there again killing her, because in the normal timeline she went back in 2030 to 2018 to get the benefits to avoid living a lonely life. The resultant mess then therefore never gets erased but keeps existing as "past events" to 2018.

The whole thing is a giant paradox filled with small paradoxes. In the true timeline, time travel was never invented so none of these paradoxes ever occurred.

Movie was awesome in every way and I wish the writers were apart of the Avengers endgame script for this version of time travel makes a lot more sense than what was portrayed in the movie for if you think about it if they had killed the 2014 version of Thanos it would have drastically change the events in Infinity War probably the same way events were changed in the other time travel movie called frequency with Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid!💯😉👍

Sorian’s demise was an example of the boostrap paradox. If you went back in time and killer you grandfather, you would cease to exist. But then if you ceased to exist, how could you have killed your grandfather? Since old Sorian killed young Sorian, old Sorian would cease to exist as seen the movie. But old Sorian no longer exists, how could she have killed young Sorian? This same paradox was also explored in Doctor Who during the era of the 12th Doctor (Peter Scapaldi).

I went into this thinking it was another movie like "Red Notice" Where it has an amazing unexpected mixed cast you thought you would never see together to distract you from the fact that its a bad bland movie they filmed quick and churned out... SO GLAD I WAS WRONG! The movie was GOOD! I never Got bored, they got the flow right, the effects didn't feel cheap, they put effort here and its a perfect movie for wanting something above average when bored.

6:29 no, there is only 1 copy of the formula and that's in the hard drive. The original in his head is not a "copy". Copy = duplicate of the original or duplicate of a duplicate.

At the end of the movie, young Adam tells his father that he needs him, that it's too hard without him... isn't that in essence, telling his dad he's dead to Adam when he is 12yr old? So, he doesn't tell him exactly when he will die, but dad now knows he dies by the time Adam is 12! Idk...

Hey think story I got a great thing to tell you and here it is what if the Korean zombie show All of us are dead took place within the same universe of the poplar Korean film squid game. I know it sounds crazy but I have made a video talking about 2 theroys that it could be possible and also there is an actor who did appear in both shows so that could be another awnser to support this theroy

It is good how the film didn't have Maya simply using Terminator logic, and kill Adam's mother (in the past) or Adam himself as a child to stop him in the future, resisting Maya and the government of the day. It has echoes of both Back to the Future (arguing about paradoxes, and one being in one's own timeline he shouldn't be and not knowing about ones future etc.,) and Terminator (pretty-much unstoppable bad guys from the future, trying to stop other guys from the future changing the future from the "bad" future to a "good" future). Maya's demise doesn't have the "hasta la vista, baby" feel to it.

Not to be a bummer or anything, but why didn't hit watch get attracted to the magnet or the gun? If the gun was made of polypropylene, polyurethane it still had the metal bullets in it. Lets hope the lack of explaining what they planned on doing, as far the fate of the crystal leaves this one open for a sequel. I thought it was a great watch as well as "Free Guy"!

The ending should be, when the young sorian died since and the old sorian dissappeared becoz of it then all of them should have dissappeared. But since loius reed is in his timeline then he should have remember all of it and the future should be diff not the same.
