Saw this last night. It was so good. If I could see it again I would. In our production les Dennis was sick so Scott Paige (the Roman ancestor) took his place. Oh my god Scott Paige was fantastic!! Considering he was an understudy he really blew the crowd away, he got some of the loudest cheers! The whole production was perfect, the set was amazing and every effect was perfectly timed. 10/10.

I don't get why people are judging the whole performance off of this one clip, that was taken from one small performance. Unless you have seen the whole show, I wouldn't judge.

I don't see a lack of chemistry here... I'm really confused by the all the hate?!?! I think they did a really good job embodying their characters and adapting them to the stage. And The costuming is really interesting to me, the faded color of the ancestors is eerie and eye catching with overpowering the main cast who are primarily in black and white, costume isn't set in stone... also, the wigs look fine. I really enjoyed it.

I saw this in Birmingham last week and it was absolutely fantastic! Carrie was exceptional. I didn't think i could enjoy a musical as much as i did hairspray, but i think I've been proven wrong.

Carrie is amazing and the one that plays her dad the best by far ❤️

Having watched the show, I would say this clip (although very good) is not an accurate representation of the show...for one the cast (in my opinion) had brilliant chemistry, and I rather like the brightly coloured ancestors, and I didn't think they distracted from the main cast at all, if anything it gave the ancestors more personality; it also makes it that much funnier in the long run with some other characters. But that is my opinion, I loved the show and this clip was great but not exactly like the actual show opening number (which is AMAZING).

this is coming up a month after completing a run of the show in my hometown (in which i played Lucas), and it honestly made me cry bc of how much i miss this show. all the performances here were amazing as well, especially carrie considering her lack of involvement with this number!

Am I seeing things or is one of the ancestors wearing the Star Princess costume from Masquerade in Phantom of The Opera?

Even though Nathan Lane was the one who originated the role of Gomez for Broadway, I like more this version, since the reprise of "Crazier than you" and some things like some scenarios, songs and costumes are considered as "non-replica", making Lane's Original Broadway cast a Non-Replica Version Ironically.

For anyone saying it's slow, I think this was slowed down. I just saw other videos of them perfoming this and it seems to be faster like the original.

What is their pit, I know this is the UK version but they cut out so many random parts for no reason

No chemistry and what's up with the costumes for Wednesday it's fluffy its spouses to be dull and just sits there and pugsly is a middle aged man and it should be a kid and all the other costumes for him I have seen it's been a striped shirt and black cargo shorts )I would know I played him) and the wigs are horrendous, and the ancestors are supposed to be all white and gray but those are colorful! I am ashamed of the costumer they could have done a lot better with the hole show in General. Not trying to be mean but just some criticism from a big fan of the show!
