This is the "Guardians of the Galaxy" of the Critical Role universe

Hearing Travis speak like he just inhaled helium and Liam speak like he has a chorus of frogs in his throat is the best thing ever.

I was astonished by Liam O’brien’s voice, then Travis hit us with a pitch that’d make helium jealous.

To her great credit Marisha has to this day been the only main cast member to play a Bard since Sam retired Scanlan. And she absolutely killed it.

I can just hear Buddy holding his son after he was born and saying "Woah, you're Pretty."

The Owlbear is unironically a dope character. The combo Rogue+Barbarian is awesome and the idea of a batman wannabe skulking in the woods with an owlbear pelt on the back is both hilarious and actually pretty cool.

Buddy has an intelligence of 11.... Next on Critical Role: Buddy the Ogre teaches Grog Strongjaw to read.

I think these characters are perfect for live shows. They are not as serious of a group and the cast can relax and play up the comedy more for the audience, than they can with their main characters since much more is at stake in the real campaign.

Underrated line: Owlbear after finding the ruins of the duck pond: "Should've been a goose.... they have less to live for."

Owlbear being a Batman inspired character, but failing at stealth, was the best part.

I love that marisha intentionally pronounces things wrong because she's only read the stories, not heard them. That's a brilliant touch.

I don't know if Marisha gets enough recognition. Her character and the amount of work she put into all of it was amazing. The way she pronounced certain words was also hilarious.

Everyone looks like they are dressed to go out somewhere, and that somewhere is different for everyone

He's semi avian, claw hooting mammal of action He's a furry half owl with a prety big brain! He's got more than just man skills He's got an owl's beak and gives criminals chills And the ducks all swoon whenever they hear him say: "Hoo!" He's the Owlbear! Owlbear and Darrington!

Travis is a cleric named Macaroni, why didn't any say anything about Holy Macaroni, cant believe they let that one slip.

My favorite part of this whole session will always be when The OwlBear resists the fire damage and Travis and Co were like "You don't resist that" and he just smugly confirmed he does

Sometimes, I crave Macaroni Samsonite, so I revisit this one-shot, often. This one-shot has become a comfort show for me

Most underappreciated line: "Hey lady, get your own Ogre!"

Critical Role: The episode where EVERYONE gets to be extra, like extra extra.

Marisha Ray REALLY cracked me up this episode. Everyone was on their game for the humor, it’s insaaane.

I am impressed with the audience at the “now it's your turn!! (your turn!! (your turn!!))” the audience split up into parts and successfully harmonized and I am very happy!!!! I am also very happy about both the number of times they rolled 9s and also the fact that the whole audience would immediately shout "NEIN!!"

I am disappointed that Matt did not say that he has "Released the Quacken".

This is literally the equivalent of guardians of the galaxy for Critical role and I love it 😂

I love how Ashey's character is basically Gale.

Travis is the most wholesome teammate ever. The reactions he has when one of his friends does something cool and awesome are so genuine.

3 years on and I'm still desperate for these characters to return. Give them a full campaign. They're all just too perfect. I know the feeling of becoming too attached to characters played in 1 shots though. My group does a lot of really short homebrew adventures and I've loved so many of my groups characters.

Seeing Travis' face when Taliesin says that he's gonna rage is so great. Travis will always be a barbarian at heart and this just proves that.

This episode is just them flexing their voice actor abilities

I love how they're all dressed for wildly different occasions and still all look absolutely fabulous.

Can I just point out the awesome skill Liam has to come up with a character that wins the crowd's sympathy and favor within the first 5 minutes of play? Because that's incredible, and he often does that. It shows great skill.

Marisha is excellent in this one. This group was amazing and gave such a great one-shot. Probably my favorite so far. I hope for more Darrington Brigade adventures, with a slightly different group maybe?

Taliesen's ability to create a cult of almost 3000 followers without even trying is uncanny. I also very much appreciate his consistent summoning of sick electric guitar riffs for the best worst Batman ever's turns.

You know, Tal’s character is actually very well thought out, but even the best of characters would get their ass beat in a 1v1 with a monk.
