Here's my biggest problem with the swole comments, first women's champion was Asian, second woman's champion was native American and also Trans gender and then the third woman's champion was also Asian then yes we had DMD but after that we had Rosa. How is that not representation? I've always got the impression swole didn't get what she wanted. As for Lio Rush, he's not exactly the best person to look to for a measured and fair argument, the guys career has pretty much been one big temper tantrum since he left WWE

Sammy Guverra feels like he's Tony Khan's golden boy in AEW. With punishments he feels like a student who constantly gets into fights and doesn't get as big of a punishment as he should cause the principal is one of his parents. By this rate with Sammy he probably could rob a bank then Tony Khan says it's for storyline stuff. Tony needs to stop playing favorites especially with Sammy or else there's gonna be more fights with Sammy Guverra and someone will get seriously injured

I wouldn't have left out the last part of the Guevera and Hardy incident. Where Sammy went off the script and threw a chair at Matt's face and busted him open really badly. Also I remember one of the multi man tag matches, I think a member of Dark Order got knocked unconscious and everyone just worked around him. Ref never checked, they just ignored his limp body.

You forgot one important detail about the Big Swole Tony Khan controversy. Jade Cargill being booked to win the TBS Championship during that time which put her in a bad situation because some people though Tony Khan only was doing it to prove Big Swole wrong and that if he didn't then Big Swole would be right.

I don’t defend Tony often but I thought he was right the defend himself with that Tweet against Swole, she just sounds bitter and tried to turn the issue into something it wasn’t.

I felt like the whole Swole situation just came off as her being bitter that she was bump to the side for better female black wrestlers and then she tried to mask it as a diversity issue.

Lío Rush and Ryback need to make a team called the crybabies

The problem is that The Elite are all Exec VPs, and probably shouldn't storm into an employee's dressing room. There should have been a netter handling of Punk's complaints, perhaps a meeting at company HQ after a cooling-off period.

Agree about elements of the Swole situation. AEW has come a LONG way. The issue was that a lot of people in my community didn't understand that diversity neither began and ended with Black talent on TV. That Black talent winning matches and championships was a step. However, I feel people ignored the early efforts that AEW made to highlight Black talent. Most prominently, Private Party beating the Bucks and Scorpio being the MVP of SCU's rise to the tag titles in that tourney.

I feel like that Guevara/Matt Hardy match was the first time a sizable portion of the wrestling fan base turned on AEW, at least for a little bit. Up to that point, most fans had been pretty positive about what AEW was doing, sure there were still some bad storylines (Nightmare Collective anyone?) But the vast majority of people were willing to look over that because the rest of it was really good, especially compared to what WWE was doing. After that incident, however, it felt like a lot of the shine had come off the promotion. This really marked the end of the Honey Moon period, and when people started to be more critical of some of AEW's more questionable decisions.

Sad to say Sammy Guevarra is untouchable. He will get some suspensions but not that long. Tony And Jericho is really protecting this jackass. They probably think that WWE will get this guy and make him the next big thing or something.

Big swole is exactly what’s wrong with America. AEW is the most diverse wrestling company in the world and it suffers because of it. So the logic that they aren’t diverse makes no sense.

Agree with Big Swole or not, Tony Khan’s response was uncalled for. If someone calls you out for not being inclusive enough, you don’t downplay those complaints by tokenizing the few wrestlers of color you have. It just proves what Big Swole said-it just de-legitimizes your attempts to be inclusive and makes it all insincere.

Honestly AEW is heading down the same path as WCW. Mainly because of the constant injuries

For the record Darby Allin is an abhorrent person and doesn't deserve his spot in the company. Both an abuser and he sees no problem just paying homeless people to fight each other. I have no sympathy to anyone who still actively cheers for him knowing what he's done.

Everything is about skin color. Race is the most important thing about a person. Judge people on the color of their skin first then if you want to you can look at the content of their character but you don't have to judging them by their skin color is good enough. This is America since the 2010's and 20's. Hopefully it goes away😢

There have definitely been some issues in the first years of aew. I think they are learning on the fly which tends to happen with new companies or new ownership. I hope and believe they will learn and adjust but the realities of larger than life personas and imperfect humans means every promotion will have issues including aew. The best they can do is improve on how they handle them and de-escalate them as much as possible. We have historically seen it with other promotions such as impact/tna, roh, ecw, wcw, njpw, aaa, etc. Wwe has had over 40 years to learn how to navigate it and has had periods of similar issues and controversies, many worse than AEW has had. Another issue is that everyone has cameras and information good and bad spreads much faster because of social media and wrestling news and content providers. So those fights in wwe and almost every else are forgotten as there wasn’t as much coverage to saturate our minds with it. I can’t remember a single back stage or ring altercation including those resulting in sever injuries or death get as much attention and trend the way brawl out did.

Couldn't agree less with bringing Punk back. He seems to have a terrible attitude problem, totally went in on the company he works for after winning it's championship, pissed off a whole load of people and directly started stirring shit about people that weren't even being asked about at the press conference. The dude is also clearly injury prone now and doesn't seem to be able to keep either his mouth from running pissing everyone off or himself off of the injured list. Not worth the hassle with other wrestlers and not worth the damage control.

A big problem I have with "Big Swole" is that she wasn't very good, but also AEW has pushed black talent over white talent that is actually over (BPJ, Dark Order, Eddie Kingston, Wardlow, FTR) and the ratings dipped because of it. Wrestling is a meritocracy and slow moving Starks, Acclaimed, and Top Flight were on the path to get over but Swole just didn't want to give it time and let the company establish itself.

The issue with the big swole situation is the fact that pro wrestling simply isn’t popular with black people. There isn’t much of a reason to try to invest your product into a group that simply isn’t interested in the product. The reason you really can’t consider many black pro wrestlers as “the best of the best” in the business is because it’s just not an industry that most of us are interested in (yes, I am African American). For every Booker T and Dwayne Johnson (who is only half black by the way, and doesn’t say much about his African heritage), there are probably 10 John Cenas who have had much better careers, and a small part of that does involve Cena being Caucasian. There’s nothing racist about that, it’s just reality. I’m not saying that black people can’t be great wrestlers, because we can…most of us just don’t care about pro wrestling.

Bring back CM Punk? No. He proved he's difficult to work with. Airs personal problems when he could have avoided it. Embarrassed Tony Khan (granted that's an easy thing to do) Oh and let's not forget everytime he won the title, he got injured.

NO, do not bring back CM punk, yes he may still be somewhat popular but he's caused alot of problems when he was in AEW and everytime he has held the AEW title he got injured, so he can't exaclty be relied upon to hold the world title for any meaningful period of time. TLDR: CM punk is more of a liability then anything at this point and its best AEW moves on without him

It was even in the empty arena era IIRC, so literally there was no reason to take that bump legitimately and not do cinematic/pre-tape stuff. 1. Lio Rush seems to have problems everywhere he goes. 2. The Excalibur and Jimmy Havoc fight was over an unmasked Excalibur picture Havoc posted. 3. IMO much of the fighting in AEW was because Kahn wasn’t acting like a boss. When you don’t fear a hammer coming down on you, you tend to act like rules don’t apply. Supposedly Tony is now letting everyone know he’s the boss and not everyone’s friend
