For the records, there was no time Ghanaian music dominated Nigerian music. You can say some Ghana music were popular and popping in Nigeria at a certain time, like vip, fuse odg..not that they dominated.. Again, saying Ghana movies influenced Nigerian movies should be the other way round.. stop lying to yourselves just to feel better..

I am from GAMBIA 🇬🇲.The guy wearing the black shirt seems not to understand what he is saying.. population has nothing to do with development in music..Look at Diamond platinum from Tanzania...what is the population? Fewer than Ghana population. Why is he making more wave that any of the ghanian artist today? My brother Nigeria is far above....Go work hard.. kudos to kidi anyway..he came to my country and filled our mini stadium persay .... Nigerians work hard bruhh...

I am always bewildered when Ghanaian pundits mention Tictac or MzBee as being huge in Nigeria... Huge for where????? Can MzBee compare to Tems or Ayra Starr??? I mean Tems gets invited to the big celebrity bashes in America! Ghanaian output generally is very poor, they might have one or two averagely popular songs compared to about 40 hot songs from Nigeria! For the short man in the middle, Nigerian artistes doing well are not just Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido! Take note also of Kizz Daniel, Asake, Olamide,, Ckay, Rema, Fireboy, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Omah Lay, Adekunle Gold,Zinoleesky, Zlatan, Tekno, Pheelz, Mavins, Ruger are all burning up charts and making waves! This was a total waste of time. Illiteracy even when they sound obviously educated. Firstly, VIP and TicTac never dominated nor influenced Nigerian artists. Nigeria's population is around 230m, not 270m. The population is never and excuse, but good music. If it's about numbers, how many Chinese and Indian artists do you know? For the records, Nigerian artists were making music for the Nigerian market and the world embraced it. We have never imposed our music on anyone. You guys should let us breathe. It's time most Ghanaian music pundits differentiate between being patriotic and being true to themselves. This guy just sat down there and was dishing out ignorance. This level of ignorance is crass. First BET awards that included Africans had 2 Nigerians and 1 Ghanaian as nominees, this category was won by a Briton and since then Nigeria has won it more than any other African country. When Nigeria won her first Kora award in 1999, no Ghanaian had even had a nomination. Note that Kora awards started in 1996. So when he was mentioning Kodjo Antwi I just smiled, because it's obvious that most Ghanaians live in self deceit.

Nigerians were the ones that built Ghana Economy in 50s and 60's. l grew up in Kumasi, Ashanti New Town in 60's and family moved back to Nigeria in 1971 when Ex President of Ghana "Busai" chased Nigerians out of Ghana. Ghana Economy went bad after Nigerians moved away and Ghanaians started moving to Nigeria and some these Ghanaians turned to "Shoe Shinning" around Lagos and Ibadan in Nigeria. Its all very laughable and indeed hard to hear from the guy sitting in the middle assert that nigerian copy from ghana or that ghana music influenced thd nigerian music. First, let me describe him as a pretender who represents himself to the public as one who is balanced or so to be seen unbiased and i will ask him to remove the cloak of shame from his face and state the obvious. Second, no one country between nigeria and ghana thought the other how to play music, and so he should stop wallowing in illusion. Nigerian music is fundamentally different from ghanaian music on grounds of culture and social composition. Nigeria with more than 250 ethnic groups with blended varying culture and tradition has more source of musical artistry to tap from than ghana is blessed with. Third, in the 70's when Osibisa group made waves both in africa and USA or in short thr world, it was nigeria that promoted them in africa, all radio stations and TV stations in nigeria invited and showed them to african public. Nigeria did not complain, instead nigerians felt africa was on world stage. Fourth, when Manu Dibango of Cameroon came on world stage with his master clasdic "Soul Makossa" nigerians embrassed the music with unequalled passion the track was played everywhere. At this time Nigeria was promoting musicians from ghana and other african countries such Mariam Makeba of South Africa to the extent that Ms Makeba was billed to play at FESTAC in lagos in 1977. Also during this period, Fela Anikulapo was popular with afro beat which music then upstaged every other artist, but ghanaians wete the first to complain as though they must be acknowledged the best ever. Off the stage, they claim nigeria learnt or borrowed from them. He mentioned PSquare as aping a ghanian artiste - to him every thing originated from ghana. England invented football but Brazil is thd greatest football nation of the world, England never for a day went after Brazil and demonise them rather they urged their football association to begin to develop to catch up with Brazil. Spain, Argentina, Getmany, Italy, France etc never had a word anger from England because these nations have relegated them to the bottom. Let it be known to ghanaians that better they spent on irrelevant issues of who is or not better between nigetia and ghana the more they stay left out and nigeria will continue to excel. I expected that ghana will have criticised the 100 of 1000s pop stars from America of over shadowing ghana musicians or claim that the style of america music was transported from ghana to USA. It beggars reasoning that ghana's worry is nigeria. My brother i think ghana has nothing rrasonable engaging their daily life so they spent good time talking about nigeria. Yet the complain has given you no head on.

I disagree with the man in black by saying nigeria have a numbers, i can still remember in 80s raggae music from Jamaica rained over the world, Jamaican is less than 10m people, what about makoosa from congolese country what is their population, in 90s makoosa is every where, therefore i totally disagree with the analysis of the man in black.

All these Ghana pundits as they call themselves don't know the music landscape in Nigeria, they always use their false music history to downplay nigeria's success. Sunny Ade the Lengend juju musician had a record of 41 years on the US billboards album chart, which Rema just broken. You can goggle it. Ghanaians are using their well to compare the ocean, when music and entertainment is mentioned.

Better free yourself of this we start everything. You people are illiterates in music history, better ask from other people their own perspectives. Better open your heart and stop your fishbowl mentality. You sit down somewhere and make false claims. They copied movies from ghana? Do you know that the first movie in west africa was produced in 1935 by herbert ogunde. Do you know that the first television in africa was in ibadan in 1958? And it came with western nigeria film schools??? Whereas ghana tv and ghana film school were established in 1965? Better stop these bunkum

You Guys are just Haters. Why would you say Wizkid's music doesn't make sense. You are completely wrong brother, though thats your opinion. The Ghanian music industry mostlybis about beefing each other whichbis not good. If Wizkid's music doesnt make sense, why is he ib the lime light world wide. The presenter of this programme, should have brought people with positivity. This guy with the orange stripe shirt is talking rubbish honestly in my opinion. Why can't you guys talk about another African Country as well. Why Nigerians all the time. Nigerians Artists mostly use their language or local lingua in their music. The Ghanian Sound is not right. Most Ghanians that i know of sing Dance-Hall music. Nigerian Artist are so versatile. , and their sound is different. We speak diff language guys. Go and check Asake dt sing mostly in YORUBA. Therebis a big diference

Reggae did not blow up from Jamaica per se. Large migrant populations of Jamaicans ended up in the UK and in the US. These migrants had great influence on the cosmopolitan cultures of New York and London. Jamaica is a very small country but they held a disproportionate share of the migrant black populations in New York and London. It was from there that reggae spread to the rest of the world.

Nigerians don’t have any certain blue print. Nigerians blend music. Ghanians need to update also. Also this man in black is saying nonsense, India and China is one the most populated countries in the world, so how come Indian or China genre of songs are not blowing up in Africa or other countries or the world the way Nigerian songs are blowing up around the world. Ghana 🇬🇭 Artist just needs to do Afrobeat songs or blend it. Afrobeat music is not only restricted to Nigerians look at King Promise he does Afrobeat, Nigerians don’t even know he he is Ghanian until he speaks his native language. Do Afrobeat and mix it with your dialect just like you do Hiphop and mix it with your dialect.

So the hustle is not any where close so artist deliberatelybring out the best in them to competition amongst themselve....lastly nigerian have a head start b4 most countries in africa, our community spirit is so so unique artist help out themselves less gansterism more of business
