The Aftermath of MetaZoo's Demise (Where Do We Go From Here?) 

I just don't understand why the main website is down but the marketplace is still open where you can still preorder products that will never be sent. I'm still fighting with my bank trying to get a chargeback.

Out of all the dead TCG's, Metazoo is one that could easily bounce back if someone out there could give a shit and make it happen.

I was a big fan. I had a play group and made a lot of great memories. Metazoo got me into card games again. I miss Metazoo but the thing I care about the most is getting together with people and playing. And Metazoo just doesn’t have that. I play commander now. I really like it

You know how long I've waited for another car rant video? Since your last one. A lot of good points in here man. I still love Metazoo and given the fact that there were sooo many Metazoo releases in the short life-span it had, there's still tons to collect. Now, at an actual affordable price. At least, that's how I'm looking at it. Super unique game and artwork. To say how invested I was in collecting is that I'm still buying as it continues to tank. One thing I'll say about the NomNom portion is that I did back heavy. Not to invest (although not opposed to flipping extras or stuff I don't want as much to get other things because I do thay with every TCG). From how modern TCGs are, if I want to set collect or chase bigger hits, it means opening a ton of boxes. I master-setted Pokemon 151 and it was a probably $1.5k worth of openings and buying singles. I sold all my extra cards to fund the purchases on singles I needed. With NomNom I did a strong backing because I do plan on opening pretty much all of it to see about master-setting. Always love the videos dude. Please make more stuff just going over Metazoo. If you decide to continue to collect, I'm right there with you.

Very good video again. Totally agree. It´s very sad beacause I really fell in love with Metazoo. I don´t feel like I wanna buy stuff from other TCG´s..MetaZoo or nothing! I think the best think we can do is to be happy about the time we had with MetaZoo and to keep it as a beautiful memory in our minds that we now can take with us for the rest of our lifes. I will definitely keep some MetaZoo stuff unopened so I can open stuff in 10 or 20 years, I´m sure that will be a nice nostalgic experience. And I will hang my binders on the wall so they can fill my room with nostalgia and beauty, I think they look really nice.

Hard to go back to pokemon at this point. I’m having a lot of fun ripping Metazoo packs, and so many cool collection pieces up for grabs.

In my spare time, I've been creating a new format and or rule set for Meta Zoo. Because there's something there, I can see the potential in it.

I loved MetaZoo the way you did man. I was a player and not an investor and man that game and the theme was everything to me. Love cryptids and building hyper specific themed decks and all that. It had so much casual and competitive potential. The towers idea was cool and brought to life something all Pokemon fans wanted in having something like a Gym where YOU could be the leader. I know most of the ppl who won towers and to know they can't defend their tower is insane. The fact they held an art contest, got everyone's hopes up, generated free content for them, just for them to pull the plug... Mike is a special kind of idiot. Sure we don't know the full story but I think his hissy fit way of ending the company will leave a perpetual bad taste in the mouths of the few of us left that give a shit about the game nothing else. He royally fucked over so many people. Really hoping karma catches up with him and those at the top and that if there ever is any sort of revival or part two (highly doubt it) that they are nowhere near it. I've seen the openzoo effort of open source MetaZoo fans moving it forward but it's just not doing it for me. Maybe another group will attempt the same thing and really knock it out of the park. Shout-out to the Harry Potter TCG revival team putting out new free fan-made sets to this day. Stuff like that gives me hope but MetaZoo should've never ended the way it did. My sense all along was that 90% of MetaZoo buyers were speculators, w 10% like you who actually love the cards, the lore, and the maybe the gameplay. The good news is the 10% can stay connected and maintain a community and interest. Re: Pokemon, the reason so many people buy it is becoming they have so many films, app games, video games, anime shows, and toys for so many years. Their IP is massive.

It definitely was not a scam. Mike is an introvert. There is no way if it was a scam he would of put his face in the public and done so many public appearances and interviews if it was a scam. The brand almost immediately catapulted into popularity from the beginning. He would of just stayed behind the scenes if it was a scam.
