Amid Evil is one of my favorite games so I'll definitely take that ad a compliment :D I might also shamelessly "borrow" from AE's visual design. The final arena in the demo is a recreation of Solar Sanctuary.
its not your specs,its the limit of the engine even a 3080 will have low frames but as long as its 30-35fps its all good thats the original fps anyway when doom launched
Dude I saw this on trailer on facebook and i’ve been looking for it ever since then for the past week and then I saw that awesome Hammer on the Thumbnail of the video. It definitely made an impression This legit looks absolutely fantastic and people need to know about this more!
You will indeed! There will be a separate version that you can load as a mod for any doom mapset. We've been testing it with things like Sunder, The Slaughter Spectrum and Sunlust and it works really well. There will so be an SDK that you can use to make your own maps.
Looks awesome. The only thing I feel should be changed or at least given the option of changing in the settings is the Health/Armor bar. It doesn't seem easy enough at a glance to tell what your health and armor is at. ln my personal experience that is highly important knowledge, especially in slaughter. I'd much prefer some big ol' numbers that tell me exactly what I need to know and tell it to me fast.
The hud elements are still work in progress (and I'm pretty sure they've been made easier to read since I shot this footage?) but yeah, agree 100% with what you're saying re: readability. We might also add an alternative HUD that is more like the classic Doom style one
All releases will be free. People can support the game on patreon and there will be an itch page set up for donations which will be the primary point for people to get it through Hellforge Studios.
The game will have a large variety of encounter design throughout but there will indeed be a fair amount of slaughter. Regardless of style though, this game will be difficult on the high settings, including a challenge mode for those who like it extra spicy
@@Bridgeburner56 hmm thats too bad. i dont like slaughter wads. takes the fun out of doom for me. i dont mind a high amount of monster count. but slaughter aspects are just boring to me. never could get in to it. but anyway good luck on the project. i do want to play it though and thats something i will do for sure. so i wll see how it is in the long run. the whole idea and level design/textures looks awesome.
@@metalvideos1961 There will be extensive difficulty balancing including mechanics to reduce the grind required on lower difficulties. The goal is to make something that is as widely accessible as possible so hopefully you find something in there to enjoy :D
@@Bridgeburner56 o thats good. yeah i always play on UV. But i cant play pure slaughter maps for the life of me. I like mods who look awesome and are just nice and smooth to play though. look at mods created by Alexa Jones-Gonzales. one of my favorite mods from here is Shadows Of The Nightmare Real/Umbra of Fate And Unending. Anyway point is pure slaughter maps like the slaughter fest maps or chillex or things like that are not my things. so hundreds upon hundreds of monster's are fine. if the maps are nice and big. the layout is good and there is a fun game play to it. that is my cup of tea. the second secret level of Eviternity is a good example. thousands of monsters but the map is layed out well enough and its big enough that it doesnt bother me. But anyway i am still really curious about this mod. and i wil play it for sure. have my eye on this mod since i discovered it. so i wish you and your team all the luck and take your time to finish it. it really looks promising :-)
well i have downloaded the demo. but for some reason my pc cant run it. what are the minimum specs you need for high settings? or is it just not optimized yet. i run a 4790K and a 970. got pretty bad stutters on high settings. and low settings makes the game look awful. dark monsters. not much beautiful lightning. just dont look good in general. so will it be further optimized or will this be it. if so then i am afraid i cant play it. i really wanted to but if it runs like this i cant.
You should be able to run the demo with those specs (the last arena will probably chug a little) but if you're getting stutters right from the start it's being caused by something else. I know vsync has caused issues for people, Mr Icarus was getting stutters on his (beastly) machine until he toggled that. It could also be a conflict between your gpu and the shaders which has happened to a couple of people. If you want more help feel free to join the discord (link in the description). My coder knows a lot more about this than I do.
@@Bridgeburner56 i will try to figure it out. because its strange. i drop to 30 till 40FPS in game. makes no sense. mods like total chaos i run with over 100FPS easily. and i will say that that mod is way more demanding then this mod. ofc you have alot more particles effect and stuff like that but i dont think that should matter. i have played tons of mods like yours and never had this problem. and no i dont have Vsync on. so i have to play with the settings maybe a little. because the mod itself looks good thats why i hate not to be able to play it in the state that it is now.
