Pro tip with isen set aside 1 or 2 units at a time to upgrade and cycle them this works well with Lurtz's banner upgrading power so they switch back and forth to replenish

You can combine troops, for instance combine a pike unit with crossbowmen - so that they won't get instakilled by a cavalry charge.

As isengard it's pretty easy to beat a brutal in this, but it is harder when you get double to triple teamed by AI

Why would you build 2 lumber mills right next to each other? You could just recruit 5 more labourers from the first mill and get the same results for way less cost
