100% agree with everything you said. It points more natural to me and just feels more accurate than my Glock, not that I can't be accurate with the Glock. Just that is requires a bit more concentration on all shooting aspects.

That heavy trigger takes a lot of rounds to get it shot in and then it is a bit softer. You need to break the gun in with rounds fired.

Couldn't agree more. Do need to shoot it more, but with current ammo...forget about it lol

Agree with you there and they do seem to have gone up to about $500 now. :(

@@TheGeekyNerd even $500 is better than $1000 even as high as $1300+ a new SIG Can't even get a used SIG for $500 at $750 at lowest, average $950 for the P220-P229 and variants. $500 with those factors in consideration is not bad. Even $700 new for the other SIG P220-P229 Inspired gun out there, the Ares Rex Zero 1 of Slovenia beats the SIG price-wise. I like the Zastava better between the two.

I got a cz999 compact in 40 s&w with a ported barrel.

Quite possibly; know Mecgar makes alot of mags for different arms manufacturers. Nothing on them is marked Zastava or Made in Serbia so probably right.

@@TheGeekyNerd the mags are made by zastava themselves. One look overall confirms these lack the overall high end finish and detail that make a mecgar. The mags have a thick phosphate finish that seems ugly and crude but it’s functional. Everything about this gun is ugly but functional

Will need to the find an OEM mags, do not know of any cross compatible ones.

Magazine is the same as Beretta 92 mag. Take one and drill D shape hole in the front as on the original Zastava mag. Believe me, I'm CZ 99 owner from Serbia.

Well there is open to interpretations. However what can be more of an AK pistol than one made by a company that makes AK's lol. It is very similar yes, however the features and function are very different. Also give it has looser tolerances like an AK makes it more reliable than a Sig IMO.

@@TheGeekyNerd here’s your info dump to cover everything on the 999 since my original postings on other chats were removed by RU-vid ( apparently i urinated in somebody’s corn flakes and they got mad). The 999 and all its derivatives are actually based on a combination of some sig P226 elements but it’s mostly Walther P88 under those sig looks. In 1989 Serbia wanted to replace the aging M57, M70 and M88 tokarevs with a nice new modern sidearm. The gun they built had more features then ours today. They had a small device that poked your hand when you dropped to 3 shots remaining in the mag. They had a switch to go DA/SA or stay DA it had ambi controls etc. it was shown at the shot show in 1989 even though it was engraved 99 by mistake. In fact prior to the air strikes of the mid 90s and the bombing of zastava arms there were us police departments looking at the 99

@@TheGeekyNerd I knew that was coming lol. Zastava is great and I will be eventually getting a CZ to go with my ZPAP92 & MAK 90 but you know what I know😏😉. One gun that is actually highly unique and VEry accurate is the Stoeger Cougar 8000 or Beretta Cougar 8000 the 9mm they are especially nice, check those out nice rotation barrel twist function upon fire that locks barrel into place improving accuracy you will like it.

Not really, they copied the external looks and took some elements on the trigger design, but still a thing of their own. Different mag release and changes on mag design, different de-cocker system, changes on hammer and I believe barrel is also a bit different.

I would say lesser precision, cheaper, and a bit rougher overall. Still plenty accurate thought in the right hands and IMO is more reliable than a SIG due to the looser tolerances.
