The rear hatch is not aligned properly. Above the "GT 63" badge, the hatch line does not line up. Even if this is a prototype, why on earth would Mercedes let that pass?
These videos are all pre recorded and come out on the day the embargo ends. They usually shoot these videos many days back, before releasing them. That's why it appears that they are everywhere.
@@peanutbutterjelly1368 Doenst change the fact that we _are_ at all these places almost same time, because they need to be shot at some point and often (not always) the recording schedules are even crazier than the publishing schedules =)
I dont like the center console, I feel like it is just lazy to just put a tablet on the middle of the dashboard, it could have been amazing if they had done some more work on this part of the car
Actually all of the inside to looks cheap and I color saturated graphics is just too much just feels so like some old Windows graphics. Its needs so restraint and editing.
Thomas, I did not want you to get into that incredibly small backseat. Wow! I guess this is a preview of what the new interior in the AMG GT 4 door coupe would look like? I like the new AMG GT! Excellent review!! Thank you, Thomas & crew!
@@Anti-FreedomD.P.R.ofSouthKoreaYup, their designs are not very appealing. The only Mercedes that actually looks good is the GT, but since they copied design cues...

Thomas' reviews are an art form and every artiste suffers for their art. I'm also pleased he did not try the back seats with the lady who was filming to keep things respectable for family viewing. Hahahaha
Gt 8 or 9 yrs ago ,was a 10 outa 10 piece of merc art on wheels , do this one in a deeper high gloss grey. Just like my family and dog I LOVE IT ❤.ps rear bench is a dog seat .
Mercedes knocked it out of the park with this one! Very “Porsche” like evolution of design rather than a revolution. This car has always been very beautiful and I am glad Mercedes kept the classic design theme.
This car looks so good. Front grill with chrome star harkens back to designs of yester-year! I thought the GT was being replaced by the SL? Thank you Thomas.
I'll say it. I don't like it. Yes, it looks nice. I prefer the previous model much more. The fact that it looks like an aged version of the new and elegant SL doesn't help either. The tail-lights look straight out of an ESQ - and that is no compliment. Yet, it all works. Nicely. And that is the problem. It should look raw. Intimidating. Unique. Special. And on all those marks, and at its price-point, I don't see it being part of the stable for long.
Surprised by the AWD really but I suppose as a grand tourer it makes sense to have that for improved adaptability. As for the clock, I think an analog one would have been better.
Porsche is the benchmark in this category. I hope the GT is on par with price or even cheaper so as to sway people who are on the fence between Porsche and AMG, the buyers Mercedes is after (Porsche buyers will always buy Porsche's). Unlike the SL, which is crack money for no good reason since it's definitely NOT a Porsche beater.
They nailed it design wise. I think this car will give potential Porsche 911 turbo S buyers something to think about. Personally the GT with its v8 is a no brainer.
Didn't know the old one had been around for that long. New one looks very similar, perhaps too much. Without videos telling me it is new I would not have noticed.
I agree. The interior is definitely not special and unique like the previous gen. I like some elements of the exterior, but some are a downgrade (like the tailights).
Looks really nice from the outside, however I find the interior unresolved. Propping a tablet screen against the dash looks terrible, the new DB12 interior seems much more integrated and looks so much better.
looks nice from the outside. but are the serious clavierlack on the steeringwheel🙈🙈🙈🧐🧐i hope that i saw not correct…that would be very cheap material in such a sporty car
Congratulations Thomas! Now you are definitely No.1 car reviewer (at least for me😅) Beautiful car! And that engine makes it even better and as we CLEARLY know now is that the v8 is Mercedes-AMG’s top selling point would love to get the NA, but that’s a fight for another day🙃
I don't know about the front lights. Reminds me of the previous Gen W213 facelift E Class. It should've been more sleek and thinner. From the front it looks surprised.
We all the know the 911 will still be a better car. But better looking… not anymore… this is stunning… on par with an Aston…. If it’s 9/10’s of a 911 on the road it may be worth adding to the garage for a bit of a change…
This looks fantastic. Mercedes does coupes really well. I like the new SL and GT. The interior is sleek, with no big ugly screens. And the exterior is safe from the extreme aero design given to their EVs.
I’m sorry, but not my taste for a GT. It lacks AMG dna reminds me more of an Audi TT and that tablet protruding from the centre console feels completely out of place. I wonder what AMG was thinking.
It is interesting to see this review right beside the one for the Alfa Romeo Guilia QV. To start with the Mercedes, this is one of their best looking cars for a long time. I would prefer it without the huge rear spoiler. I see the cramped rear seats as a positive advantage giving me an excuse not to carry passengers or other things I do not want in my car. As ever I do not like the modern Mercedes UI/UX, but it still looks good. I expect it goes really quickly. However I prefer Alfa’s take on what a quick car should be. You expect and willingly forgive imperfections you would not in other premium marques. There is then just the engine and the drive, including a bit of untamed behaviour when you want it. Just much more fun, and less expensive.
@@JStryker7 I suppose the question is whether you would want the AMG GT in the first place, low mileage or not. I would rather have the Alfa regardless of the price comparison. I would perfectly understand those who say the Mercedes is technically superior in every way; I just do not find it as desirable as the Alfa.
@@PaulMeier-cu3ds you can always buy a giulia qv used. At $80-90k it’s smarter to buy the already depreciated amg gt. I have no need for rear seats so there isn’t really a downside for me
