The sound is awesome. I can imagine how much better it sounds in person. The main dial looks just like a speedometer from the mid century cars. Beautiful machine.
Just got mine and was highly impressed with the price vs quality if you thinking twice get this model I'm no turntable or vinyl expert but this unit performs extremely well for the price .
I cant believe after years and years of watching these channels that only now I found you. My new fav channel. Nothing against the other guys but its so refreshing to finally see someone who isnt bitter, sarcastic and snarky on everything. Your passion and joy showing us these interesting machines is truly delightful. Appreciate your positivity! Happy New Year all, Aunt Barbara adores you!
Although I appreciate the vintage music, you should test modern music that's a little more base heavy too. Or something like a Prince album to bridge the gap as well since a lot of the older music tends to stay away from the low end musical notes
I agree I was thrown off by the old music .Makes the quality seem less as these recordings are not well done in the first place due to old technology .You need a recent recording to get the true sound of how this product performs @@Recordology
I have never owned a Victrola turn table and this unit looks and sounds awesome! I am also a nostalgic nut and will certainly be purchasing one of these units. Thank you very much for the review. I really enjoyed it.
My wife got me one for Christmas. I only wish it had AM and I would really love to have Short Wave. No, I am not joking. I would run the antennae to an exterior antennae. You should have played a 78 record. I have an actual Victrola from 1920's and I love the sound.
My turntable arrived yesterday & I tried it in the evening as you do. I absolutely love it! The sound is quality across the board & the bluetooth feature is awesome, it played everything on my phone, meditating apps, RU-vid, the lot! Definitely worth getting! 10/10! 😁
I decided that I wanted (needed) a new turntable and I’ve been looking around online and this video convinced me to purchase this item. Looking forward to receiving it from Amazon. Thanks for the review!
Yes, it's two speakers in the sound bar; each one pushes 5 watts, which makes the system 10 watts total output. (Input power from the wall socket is around 25.)
I bought the same machine and found this video. I'm really happy with it too. I played motorhead and led zeppelin, so it does pack a punch for sure. Great video, great unit.
Very helpful video, thanks! I ended up buying this exact same unit for my mom , and the Victrola Gramercy 6 in 1 for my girlfriend. I thought both units were the same besides the right mounted dial on the Gramercy, but I was wrong . The Gramercy had an added vintage feel with textured real wood feel and smell along with the wicker basket type of cloth on the speakers, very nice and definitely worthy of a separate review of the mid century series.
I got one of these for Christmas. It’s honestly amazing and I love it! The only thing is I’ve read reviews on older Victrola players and people say they wear out the vinyl quick so now I’m wondering about his one
These type of players can wear out records faster but its not something you are going to notice in all likelihood. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Record-ology hey, do you know of a way to adjust the tonearm on this machine? My tonearm doesn’t seem to be weighted enough and it keeps bouncing around, causing skipping! If you know what to do please give me a shout!
@@ChesttRockkwell those types of turntables won't track that well. If bass is too heavy on certain records they will skip. If there's any imperfections like scratches it will skip too.
This is the one i got awhile ago and i got to say i love it. There were other ones like a 8 in 1 but i stuck with this because its cheaper and i only wanted the cd,cassettes, and phone functions
Thanks for the review! I purchased one of these units on 12/23 for $119.00 and I love it! The records sound much better and not tinny like on all the other Crosley models I have collected. No, it doesn't rattle the floors and windows, but it sounds good enough for a small room. The record speed is pretty accurate also. I wasn't planning on buying another record player but after seeing your review, I had to run and check it out. I don't regret my purchase, finally someone came out with a decent player.
If you are manly playing records save your money and buy something in the 200 $300 range (recommend a fluance rt81) this will allow you to upgrade and change your setup down the line
I somehow overlooked this review but this a nice looking unit. It also sounds pretty decent too. Should be ideal for those that want an all-in-one solution.
I got the Victrola Cambridge (very similar to this), and I can't recommend it enough. Sounds really really good. I bought a LP60 at the same time and returned it. I have a home theater for dedicated listening, but for a casual hobby and when you don't want a speaker setup (our kitchen), this is an amazing value.
I just received this for a birthday gift and absolutely love it. It’s a stunning retro looking player. Good job on the review. Has anyone been able to connect wireless headphones to it via Bluetooth? I’m not sure if it’s possible.
Hi! How does this compare to the Victrola 8-in-1 Navigator? My most important aspects would be the 1. overall sound quality of the speakers, 2. LP and 3. CD players. Thank you.
Great Turntable,Sound and Performance Wise! And,best of all,You Can put a additional Mp3 Player or CD Player or other units via a cord which is optional! Costly at $89,but worth every penny spent! 3 Speed Turntable too! Excellent Bass Sound! Bought this off Walmart.com.
Put on another record player zb Sony 330 on the line output, sounds great, much better than the original ceramic record player, you can set it on top of this machine !
Hello, love your information videos, but I was just wondering why they didn't put a rewind button on the cassette player, that bothers me when a cassette doesn't have a rewind button, again thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching....... GREAT QUESTION! So I have been told that there is only one company that makes cassette mechanisms these days. They offer various models but you are correct - this is the base model. The reason it does not rewind is because it only has a one direction motor. To get around this, you just flip the tape and fast forward.
Lenoxx electronics in Australia have the same thing must be one machine with a different names around the globe. I have the CD117B very much the same thing. I paid $40 for it as new old stock in the box, the tape player is one weak area on the machine but over all they sound good for what they are.
Thank u for your review , I just bought one ☝🏽 and love it. I’m replacing it , (has a little scratch I don’t like) and because the one they sent me , wobbles my record a little . I’m gonna purchase one of those weights u put on top , and a slider. I’m thinking 🤔 it wobbles because of the belt . Can u make a video of types of belts to buy or even stylus , to change out ? I heard some of the factory stylus are not the best and it’s better to buy one separate and change .
i got my gfriend one for $129,99...very pleased with this...on the back is input for aux..blutooth also..get one or 2..you wont be disapointed...AAA+++++
have you tried this out with heavier records? Like Zeppelin or even some hip hop? I am choosing between this one and the audio technica lp60x but i like the look of this SO much more, so if this works well and doesn't skip on heavier tracks it's a win for me! Also, how has this lasted? Is it still working well?
It looks like mine. If so, it's the Empire Mid-Century. But knowing Victrola, they probably sell this model under five or six different names in front of Mid-Century (the main product name). Mine is in a fantastic color known as Farmhouse Walnut, though it's also available in Farmhouse Oatmeal (which is slightly lighter) and was the color I preferred, but the vendor was sold out of. The color option of the model you're reviewing was labeled as Metropolitan, and there was also Gray (which was almost as dark as black). I absolutely fell in love with the overall design of this model, which is the reason I bought it. The only problem is the volume rheostat isn't the most accurate, but that's a common Victrola trait. My prior model, an Aviator Signature, had the same problem. (If it hadn't gotten fried by a lightning strike, I'd still have it.) I love this Victrola, which looks vintage and modern at the same time. And though it's only pushing 10 watts through the apeakers, it's plenty loud.
I love your videos, also I'm fan of stereo sound of the microphone u use because of course I watch this using headphones, thank you for ur amazing reviews ⚡
Hi record ology, this really is a good all in one unit. The only thing that prvents me from buy this one is that it has no am radio. I feel if you are going to get an all in one, include the am radio.
You can SEND BT to it (Phone, tablet, etc) But it does not transmit BT to an external speaker. However, you can connect a speaker via a headphone cable. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Just got this record player and although this is my first vinyl player ever I can’t help but notice that the turntable music sounds slightly high pitched to my ears. Like only a semi tone or so higher but it’s high enough for me to notice
I meeeaaaaannnnn, it'll play records and it's affordable. But I'm not sure victrola turntables are really the best for long term usage, I mean the tracking force can't be very good for any record.
Around 5 grams - for moderate to light use will be fine. Won't damage anything. People enjoy this for the aesthetic and the fun of interacting with physical media (sometimes for the first time in their lives.)
I hate to be picky but I wish it had sd or usb slot to keep playlists of music on it constantly. I want a rádio without Internet. tired of. ads when I Wana listen to. music for hours / fall asleep to. music ♥
I just wanted to say as a total nostalgia geek I really enjoy your channel. I also have had frustrating experiences where I’ve returned 2 record players that had low quality sound. I decided to go ahead and order an all in one unit after returning two single players. I spent hours researching and ultimately chose this one for quality. I was going to try the 50’s retro Victrola because it has an AM radio in it but went with this for quality as it seems like more round space filling sound. I really want to thank you for reviews like this one. Shopping for a unit can be really confusing. There are literally negative reviews online for every brand out there on sites like Amazon. It can make it hard to feel confident making a choice. In terms of all in ones you’ve helped seal the deal for me. My Victrola should be here in a week or so. I’m super excited!! Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words! I would encourage you to be patient as these mass produced units need to be replaced until you get a good one sometimes. The mass production and occasional bad unit are what keeps the prices down.
I have had this unit for about 3 weeks now all the features work wonderfully. I’m using this in my bedroom and have been so impressed with the sound quality. Super happy with it. 🥰💯
just got one from Bed Bath and Beyond. Love it, had to get the floor model so the stylus was a little off. but just ordered some new ones from Amazon. Love all the other functions so far :)
Got my 3 pack of stylus's (stylie not sure of the plural) anyhow got a 3 pack of them off Amazon Prime (ran like $13, not bad at all for 3) and yep that did it. First vinyl album played was Duran Duran's 1984 Arena, found at the local goodwill for a buck. And it sounded great! I hadn't listened to a vinyl album since about 1987, and boy did it bring back Memories. My fiancé Dani had never listened to one, as she was a post vinyl (at their popularity) kid. It was neat to see how much she was digging it too, and this record was older than she is. Sounded fantastic... even with a few pops etc. All part of it. :)
Get that shrink wrap off your LPs ASAP! It will warp your vinyl over time, especially if the LP is not stored in the middle of other records. Great video and information!
Sounds great but no AM setting for radio and does not record on to your music library on your computer. I loved that it has that old radio shack look. Hope they make one like this that records.
I just bought one for a gift.. it showed up with the transport screw screwed in.. is it possible any damage could have happen in transport? Having a hard time with the needle skipping
That appears to be an off the shelf turnable part, the Crosley 3 in 1my mom bought 20+ years ago has. It sits collecting dust, as no one has a use for it.
Just bought one of these. Great sound and lovely machine. One thing I noticed is the plastic base moves a bit where the speed adjustment is. Especially when changing speed from 45 to 33 you have to do it gently. Is this normal?
Man I am falling in love with this. Is this an upgrade from a suitcase player? Would it also be possible to switch out the red tip stylus for a better quality one?
You can upgrade the sapphire stylus to diamond but it wont improve sound quality - only durability. This is a slight step up from a suitcase player. Thanks for commenting!
I have a Sirius xm radio in my home and was wondering if I could plug that in to the back of this record player? Would I be able to listen to XM on this?
Have you ever reviewed any combo units like this that give you any basic EQ control at all. The only one I’ve found so far was the Crosley one that looks like it’s from the 70’s . 1972 I think?
Good question - I don't think so. You could use the output into a device with EQ however..... Did the Crosley 1975 have a tone adjust? Its been a while.....
Yes. It has a bass and treble knob. It’s kind of a sticking point for me if they don’t offer any kind of EQ on the unit though I would love to get a smaller one like that that’s all in one.
