The greatest American rock n roll / blues band ever. Greg Allman had the greatest blues voice of any white man that ever lived. He sounded black. The band was a guitar 🎸 🎸🎸 band .two and even three lead guitarists. No American band came close to these Cats. They created Southern Rock

I was there at this concert. Great band in a time long past. I saw them 4 times, 3 times before Duane died. "Whipping Post", "Don't Keep Me Wonderin' ", and "Statesboro Blues from the Fillmore East concert though were my favorites. There are only two original members left, Dicky Betts and Jaimoe. To all who are fallen RIP.

I saw them in Sarasota in 1969 when I was 14 at the City Auditorium. Totally blew me away. Midnight Rider. Then Barry sang the Hootchie Cootchie Man. But Elizabeth Reed grabbed me the most. I said to myself, "they don't even have to sing". I saw them EVERY chance I got. And they rented a house in the Myakka River for all night rehearsals. It was fantastic.

When B.B. King's opened on Beale St, that weekend was Memphis in May Blues Weekend (back when only 50k people or less showed up for the bands back then) and there was Gregg Almond just walking up the street (towards Rum Boogie Cafe, if you know the layout of Beale Street), gorgeous hair, walking like he had some place to be. Very nice, let us stop him to get an autograph. One of my very few brushes with greatness.

First of all I watch and support RU-vid reaction sites ie... (A&A, J aka J, Dicon, JEM, LiV and India) and several others. The one obvious observation of all the RU-vid music reaction sites is, that they are like Politicians and it seams they don't respond to their mass of RU-vid fans who watch and promote them and their sites, but instead have to chase their money from their Patreon (constituents) supporters. Who get their requests for reactions put to the top of their play lists. This is what happened to Radio stations and disk jockeys in the form of PAYOLA and Kickbacks !! These site need to concentrate on their YT fans or they will move on to other things besides these sites.

I don't know that they did a video of the whole concert or even if they did ANY video of that particular concert. You can tell that this particular video was splicing of several different shows because they aren't wearing the same clothes throughout. The Allman Brothers did so many shows at Fillmore East they where known as Bill Graham's house band. There are different albums and songs taken from more than one concert. Unless you did the production it would be hard to know which song came from which concert. Suffice it to say, the Allman Brothers where a great band and possibly the best jam band ever. Fillmore East also had great acoustics which was why there was a lot of recording done there by many different artists.

Check out the Tedeschi Trucks Band if you’re looking for bands that still play like the Allman Brothers Band. As a matter of fact Derek Trucks played slide guitar for the Allman Brothers Band. His wife Susan Tedeschi is one of the best female guitarists and vocalist performing this style of music today. Also check out a young artist named Marcus King/ The Marcus King Band. He is a good friend of Susan and Derek. Marcus’s first two albums were produced by Warren Haynes another former Allman Brothers guitarist.

It's amazing to me to watch Duane Allman play his guitar with that old cold medicine (Coricidin) bottle over his finger. After, I think it was, 1972 they made the bottle with seams in the glass and they didn't sound the same. They say each one had its own sound, so he'd sit with a bunch of them and try them out until he found the one with the sound he wanted. In an interview, Gregg Allman said he still had one of his brother's old medicine bottles that he'd gone to the store and bought for him, then watched him learn to play slide guitar with it. I also read in an article that a man who'd had another one of them for over 35 years as a concert keepsake gave it to Devon Allman, Gregg's son, who now has it back in the family. Very cool story.

That video was not All One Way Out. The only part that was One Way Out was Gregg singing. If you notice, Dickey shirt changed in the middle of the song. When the video showed a closeup of Duane playing slide it DID NOT match the music. Duane also had a change of shirt mid song. A lot of that video was not even from the Fillmore.

Jim Morris Yes it appears a few videos were compiled to make this one. Only a few of the Allman’s performances were caught on film unfortunately. Gregg’s vocals were even cut out of most of the live performance of Dreams. It’s sad we don’t have more footage of these six gods doing what they do best

When Sonny Bono and Cher broke up (but still had their Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour show), Cher divorced Sonny and went to Las Vegas one weekend... she met Gregg Allman, had a one-night stand with him, MARRIED Gregg in La Vegas.. a week later she regretted the marriage and divorced Gregg Allman, but NOT BEFORE she got pregnant with Gregg's son Elijah Blue Allman. When you see the accompanying music video for Cher's IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME, you can see a 13-year-old Elijah Blue Allman on guitar. He went on tour with Cher at the age of 13. (Elijah Blue was given his first guitar by Kiss bassist Gene Simmons.) The outfit Cher wore in the video embarrassed Elijah. The video was directed by Marty Callner, was shot on board of the battleship USS Missouri and portrays Cher performing for the ship's crew, wearing a barely there fishnet bodysuit with leather covering strategic areas that revealed her tattooed buttocks and straddling a cannon. Military personnel condemned the video, while some family groups protested against its broadcast, because they deemed it offensive for the Navy and controversial. Following these protests, MTV was forced to air the video after the 9pm watershed, making it the first music video to be banned from the network. No Navy officials were disciplined for their role in supporting the video, although reportedly the Secretary of the Navy briefly considered firing the captain of USS Missouri.
