I saw one of the nights of the live at the fillmore shows for my first show. I had never heard them up to that point but what an enlightening experience their set was. It changed my life forevermore. Ive seen them 49 times total. And never heard them do a bad show. I was blessed to be able to experience their music through almost all of their incarnations.

My father returned back from Da Nang, Vietnam in 1971 & got assigned to Langley AFB in Hampton, Va. Once getting settled in school & making some cool folks, I got wind that the Allman Brothers Band would be playing at Hampton Coliseum and admission tickets were $5.50- $6.50- $7.50. Seeing the dual drummers, Dickie Betts & Duane Allman playing at centerstage & Greg Allman set at left stage performing all their songs off Live @ the Fillmore East. I can close my eyes listening to this & re-live that ceremonial evening before Duane's misfortune. Praise the Lord for me finding this~!

Wow I'm Blessed to see them several times over the years. What I would give to see them again. Watching this still gives me CHILLS down to my core !! I had a really cool uncle that was only seven years older than me and started me on the live concerts experiences when I was just 13. Then I started dating my forever husband when I was 16 and we have continued the concert journey ever since and I'm now 59 and he is 60. Yes long marriages still exist. We still continue our concert journey, what is left of it. We never had kids so we never had any distractions to see the best of the best at any given time. We just caught the Eagles with The Doobie Brothers again. Highly recommend that show. I live in a log home with towering ceilings. One of the best things I did was install terrific speakers that will make the windows vibrate.Good thing I live in a rural area when I have the windows raised ,lol ! It's a miracle we still both have good hearing 😅

One thing I have to reminisce about is seeing a13 year old guitarist open for Buddy Guy in a funky legendary concert venue in Tampa Fi. called Skippers Smokehouse . He played a Red Gibson SG then too. He was the only teen in that band they were older players but very good. They played Whipping Post and my hair stood up. And later he was invited on stage to play with Buddy and he shined. Buddy smiled from ear to ear . One of my best concert memories in 51 years of concert participation. Oh yes! @@garyordo886It may be a morbid thought on my part, but there have been many a good blues songs written about all three of these conditions, sometimes individually, and sadly at others simultaneously. One about the tragic losses endured by the Allman brothers band over the years would be a fitting tribute to the fallen, and possibly a cathartic one for those left behind. I can' t express what this finest singularity means to me especially at "In Memory of Elisabeth Reed". Three world class soli and Gregg and Butch and the wonderful rest of the band.

That surely has to be the very best version of “Why Does Love Got to be so Sad” ever recorded. No idea how those three worked out their individual guitar parts so well but just amazing….

What an amazing recording. Thanks for posting! 2:09:41 - a slight misstep by Eric, for which he immediately atones with a terrific solo. 2:24:30 - EC loving what DT is playing.

Actually, I'm Debi's husband, Bud. I've read through these comments and believe I must be one of the oldest here. I first saw the ABB in 1970, in Raleigh, N.C. when Dwayne & Berry were alive. Now I'm 70+ and still listen to the greatest Southern Rock band, PERIOD! I live in Texas. I got to see Stevie Ray, Roy Buchanan, Billy G, David Gilmore, Derek Trucks, Leo Kottke, Danny Gatton and many, many more. But I consider Dwayne Allman to be the greatest white guitar player ever.

Mr. Bud Peterson, you've seen some of the best & I'm envious. In 1970 I was too young to see that concert. I'm from not far south of Raleigh, but a little closer to Wilmington. I only turned 16 in Sept. of 70 so the parents wouldn't let me go. By the time I got to see The Allman Brothers (1972) sadly, Duane was gone. Don't know if you remember but the song "Layla" was released that same year (1970). I've been crazy over music since the Beatles & Ed Sullivan. So when the Layla album came out I was just gone. Every song, "I Looked Away", Thorn Tree in the Garden", "Layla", all of them were phenomenal to me. From that time forward I have been enamored of Eric Clapton. I've been to see him every time he was within 200 miles. I thought the term "Clapton is GOD" was blasphemous but truly believed he was the penultimate of the guitar...even though every time I saw him live, the songs from that album just didn't sound quite the same. I put the difference down to it being a live performance, small change ups, not being in a sound studio, whatever. Anyway, a year or so ago, someone on youtube posted a breakdown of the song "Layla". In other words, in this video you get to hear Clapton's guitar & nothing but, then Duane's guitar & nothing but. I was so blown away. Everything I had loved, everything I had believed to be Eric....was not Eric at all. Don't get me wrong, I still love his music & think he is one of the greatest guitarists ever. But since I heard that video, I've paid a lot closer attention to Duane's playing & I have to agree with you. Duane Allman had a way of making the most beautiful sounds come out of a guitar. His abilities with that instrument are unsurpassed. I could listen to him play for hours on end with no accompaniment whatsoever. It is absolute beauty to my ears.

Funny how much Derek watches Clapton's hands work the guitar. He shows a lot of appreciation for Claton's abilities.

Eric Clapton came to America for the money. Butt the BBC. Is quite a few blues players. Like Savory Brown.., Alvin lee.... .my thoughts go to Eric as a Stretch he gave us more like BB. King to stay and play p On Pandora has an education on arts. So take the alzheimer's on a trip ..find the era. The patient knows it's cool to see the reaction. When the music can shake them awake.. The patient has to know you. But it was so cool. They were asking for song. Ray Charles + Willie Nelson.. song name is . Seven angle's.
