+patnstephen2 are you sure? Ru mentioned her on drag race recently and spoke about her in a positive way and as a potential influence for the queens on this season for one of the challenges
+Lewis Andrews Grapevine talk is Ru once made a remark about how she writes and performs her music and they have not really ever gotten along. BUT neither can deny the other's contribution to the art and perhaps they have cooled a bit. BUT Ru is the sort to point out someone's accomplishments regardless of personal "rivalry" Mutual friends have often told me they just can't share a stage.
This made my world as a sixteen year old boy!!! I recorded it on VHS and watched it over and over and over again. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever scene!
She was absolutely the most fabulous drag queen that ever lived. She took drag to a whole different level of performance art that I haven’t seen anyone else ever go near.
+Diana Rosa Lyppie is amazing. Always puts on a great show. Recently saw her play Queen Aggravain in the Off-Bway production of Once Upon A Mattress and she was wonderful. HILARIOUS!
Such excellent work! I saw that John Epperson would be starring in a new play coming up in New York City, and then it popped into my mind, "Isn't he Lypsinka?" Turns out he is. Don't know why that little factoid stuck in my head, but there it is. Fun to go through some of her great performances.
Yes Indeed. John is a wonderful actor and Lypsinka is a terrific vehicle he has created. We saw him play the evil queen (As Lypie) in Once Upon A Mattress off Broadway and it was so hilarious.
Yep... So Awesome and Lippie performs it wonderfully. We went to see Liz Callaway at 54 this past week and Marilyn was in the audience one table over from ours.
Jay IU -You're %100 correct there if that's true, and what little i see(a couple of shows at fund raisers each year),the "classics" are giving way to... Ah,well, time moves on,i think that's the way it has to be looked at.
If someone would know all the quotes that would be amazing!! Ofcourse there's mommy dearest, but I would love to know the Get out of my life get out of my dressing room quote!
Hey! This dude was on Greed (the first of the five Super Greed episodes)! He was dressed as a guy on his Super Greed appearance but i came here just to see my favorite Greed contestant, nice to see that he was doing this before his Super Greed appearance though.
Lypsinka (John Epperson) is a Lip Sync drag artist who has been working in NYC for over 30 years. The voices in the comedy bit are various Movie Stars clipped from a variety of films. The singing voice is the great Marilyn Maye. 89 years old and still keeping a full calendar of performances across the nation.
+Jose Rosales The GREAT Marylin Maye... Type her name into the RU-vid Search to see some amazing stuff. She's still working and still in FAB voice at 86.
