This really shows how people on social media really do not reflect the larger audience or population. For every 100 fans that love Andrew Garfield and the Amazing Spider Man movies, there’s a million more people out there who don’t, are apathetic, or have just moved on with their lives.

It's not really so much about advertising as it is about convenience. The only ticket sales you'd see would be from people who never saw it on the big screen before. Everyone else is like "Why waste gasoline and money when I can just watch it at home?"

I remember when Avatar 1 was re-released before Way of Water that they both made it available in more theaters and removed it from Disney+ while it was playing, which encouraged people (including myself) to check it out that could've worked here.

So I don't know why Sony re-released the live-action Spider-man film after Madame Webb flopped. Did they really think that millions of people would go out to see them again?

I know this probably doesn’t account for much, but since the main fans of the movie are people who watched it as kids and are now grown up (so 17-24 year olds), showing this movie on a Monday night during the middle of college/university exam season maybe contributed to some of the low attendance

I got all my posters from all the showings so far. It makes sense. Plus the crowd reception/participation was superb from my theater from the Raimi trilogy especially Spider-Man 2002. Peter 3 has great fans, but Peter 2 films are more enjoyable in my opinion.

Considering I have one of the largest amazing Spider-Man videos on RU-vid, I feel the need to comment on this. But you have to understand about the Raimi trilogy is Raimi has kind of a following as it is and the original original Spider-Man movie kind of invented memes in a weird way. I don’t think this can actually be reflected on until we see the numbers for Spider-Man homecoming

I wouldn’t see any of these re releases, thats just a scam cash grab studios do, i already own the films. But if they were to release a continuation of any of these films I’d happily go back the theaters and also buy it digitally. And I think there are a lot of people in that same boat

I went to go see tasm 1&2 for me he’s the best in my opinion ik everyone else likes Toney then Tom and it’s sad to see how ppl clout chase him in no way home and now that they re release his movie and no showed up shows how ppl were lying but I’m a true tasm fan I remember going to the movies when I was 13 going to see tasm which was my first time seeing spider man in theaters even tho I already had seen the goat tobey at home with all 3 films I wish ppl really cared about the tasm films instead of them being all talk 😔

Well, this is to be expected. It's like the one spider man movie I have difficulties getting through in one sitting. It's not Andrew's fault he's genuinely my favorite spider man, but it's a bad movie like just plain and simple. It has some amazing moments, some great cgi and acting, but everything else is just a bore or for lack of a better term cringe.

The point is that their online share makes their number disproportionate and inflated in comparison to the number of people who disliked TASM franchise and gave their verdict by making TASM 2 such a colossal flop, to the extent that Sony agreed to share its golden goose Spider-Man with its arch-rival Disney!

1. Not all theaters are showing these rereleases 2. Most theaters that are showing these movies again extended the runs of these movies from just one showing on Monday to a few from Monday-Thursday 3. Even with the extensions, most of the showings are in the evening and when most people are still in school 4. These rereleases had very little marketing 5. What exactly makes a rerelease "successful"? Because not even the Raimi films crossed 1M 6. These were never going to make more than the Raimi movies (and I say this as someone who has Andrew as their favorite live action spidey) 7. The Raimi films didn't have big new movies to compete with, but now Andrew and Tom's films are up against movies like Fall Guy and the new Planet of the Apes film, and even the rerelease of The Phantom Menace

It didn't bomb though. You realize it was released to less than 500 theatres... If it released to 5000 theatres and drew this it would be a bomb. Every single SM rerelease has drawn less than a Million. And the Raimi films drew only slightly higher when they were facing April competition and no Star Wars or Planets of The Apes movies. Are you looking at the actual numbers or just seeing 500 and saying "it bombed." Because for a Monday (MONDAY) only screening in less than 500 theatres, the movie actually drew well.

there are multiple issues with this take, - the nostalgia of the tobey films, which i prefer, eliminate the want to see the tasm films - there was one theater near me showing it and i live in NJ which is super populated and I have about 6 theaters close to me\ - they are showing these movies on a monday night

The movie does not have good writing at all, rushed storylines, so many villains, no real character depth or growth that actually matters to the main plot. No real suspense or foreshadowing, and even emotional moments like Gwen's death is a complete joke and not enotional, however after her death yea it's emotional. This film has so many problems and it's sad you don't see that and instead decide to just call people children for speaking the literal truth

I the action is way better then the story that doesn't mean I'm going to make it my life's mission to suit on it just because of some inconsistencies it's much better of a movie then madem web, forbids, venom 2, and etc. I just came to expect much from Sony yall are still clinging on to the fact Sony is bad at making live action movies hoping it'll change I already came to that conclusion long ago so I just accepted this movie and when I started doing that I enjoyed it more. That's what I'm saying

I really don't understand the hatred for the TAMS2. Yes it has problems but it's still a great Spiderman film. Into The Spiderverse and Across The Spider-Verse are probably the worst Spiderman film's in my opinion. Great animation and good voice work but that's it.

@@spacejam8765 It’s your fault if you can’t understand why TASM 2 is bad, it’s pretty damn clear. The multiple plot-lines that don’t mix together well leave a unsatisfying conclusion. The departure from the tone of the first movie, trying to replicate the feeling of The Avengers and the Raimi movies makes it feel all messy. The completely awful villains that are Green Goblin and Electro. The terrible parents plot which shows that the filmmakers didn’t understand Spider-Man, Peter isn’t destined to be Spider-Man, the whole point of the character is that anyone can wear the mask. TASM 2 is only interested in building a whole cinematic universe with ideas that are to be explored later instead of actually making something worth watching. Both Spider-Verse movies are better in every single way.

TASM 2 is not as terrible as the Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies. Far from home and Homecoming was garbage. Atleast Andrew Garfield acted like Spiderman in that movie. Holland acts like a tony stark fan pretending to be Spider-Man
