THE AMERICAN BULLY BREED STANDARD 

Now if only people would follow these standards.... I wouldn't have a problem with bullies if people would stop breeding these "exotic" lines with severely bowed legs pointed out shoulders, bulldog type short muzzles, etc.. At least these ones look healthy, although I disagree that their gait is effortless. I think there is too much mass atop such short legs, which leads to joint problems too, but the dogs in this video don't look bad compared to what i've seen!

If this is the standard then a lot of breeders got it wrong. I prefer the pit bull/ Staffordshire terrier looking bully. Not the exotics english / french bulldog type.

This video needs to be circulated and posted to every idiot on RU-vid claiming to own an "American Bully" or an APBT that is clearly an American Bully. Although I feel like this breed has inspired many owners of pit bulls to breed his or her own version of an "American Bully"... This video outlines what the breed should be like. The dogs look healthy, well proportioned and even tempered. There needs to be an understanding that these aren't Pit Bulls they are American Bullies, and there is a big difference between the two breeds. Keep spreading the knowledge and clarify things for these idiots.

The American bully standard (classic) should be the only bully. With the exception of maybe an XL. All other bully types are garbage and ruined the old Skool gray line gotti type bully.

I just rescued a dog and decided to keep him with my other rescue from last year . I was wondering what his breed is . He could be a mixed breed . He has short legs and big body . These medium versions are beautiful, I don't like the xl/xxl ones, they look too much like mastiffs, their lose/floppy skin doesnt look athletic at all.

But what breeds are combined to acheive the breed standard?...apbt and what else?...this is the problem, most people think anything mixed with an apbt is now an am. bully. And the breed standard doesnt help to quell this misconception, by the breed standard, you can cross anything with a pit as long as you end up with the right traits...and now you have an am. bully...THERE IS NO CONSISTANCY WITH THE "BREED".

Almost all of the dogs in these videos look different. If you showed multiple labradors, golden retrievers, whippets, e.g., you'd find that all the dogs would look similar in structure. These dogs look very different from each other and yet are still classified as the same 'breed' and are being used in a video demonstrating the perfect standard.

All the exceptions for imperfections in the XL and extreme variety bullys is hurting the breed. Imperfections shouldn't be accepted in any class, all classes should be held to the same standard.

Get any book you can find THE World of Dogs ect..ect...ect you will not find any bullies in it the breed is not recognized. Not recognized means not excepted. So what standard are you talking about. .

Here's why dogs like these get such a bad rep, PEOPLE are AFRAID of them because of the way they look and guess wut dogs are animals and they can pick up on that fear threw that sixth sense. THAT IS WHY the dogs are said to be somewhat aggressive and bossy. so I would only recommend these kinda dogs to experience dog owners and people who know what they are actually doing rather than a novice noobie

Hello i spend hours of time with my purebred choclt lab (beyond friendly) i have him trained to near perfection. He is getting old (10yrs still enerjeric)and i would like to consider getting a bully as my second dog due to their size and mellow attitude , i was wondering and would appreciate if abybody could tell me if a typical fixed FEMALE bully ( brought up right ) woukd generally get along with a MALE lab.

I love pitbulls but I mean their ears AR super cute and just kind of makes me sad. They're so prone to ear infections.

so basically they are just a scary looking lab that are gentle and loving unless you raise them wrong and train them to fight. I grew up with pitbulls when I was little, before my parents were divorced, my father was very immature, bad tempered, and really shouldn't have dogs or children so you could probably imagine how the dogs turned out, in fact one of his dogs ended up dying in a vehicle on a summer day because he forgot to take the dog out of the car. I am truly glad that I am out of that situation but it has left an impact on my family where we are terrified of pitbulls or any bully breed. I am starting to believe they can be great dogs if treated right, but my mom has lost all trust in them. I really think people should know who they are before getting a dog. You should know what you are capable of handling. If you are a docile person and kind of just go with the flow I think a lab or a small dog would be good for you, but if you are an alpha person who can control situations and will take the time to train your dog a pitbull or agressive breed would be good for you. Not saying that all pitbulls are agressive just saying that once they do get agressive it's hard to control them.
