Playing some BF5 Pacific in my BFV American F4U Corsair, exploring the Glide Bomb. Why don't the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zeros also have something exciting like this glider? Only in Battlefield 5

The fact that they gave the glide bomb to the AA version of the Corsair tells you that it's not meant as a tank buster but rather to take out AAs from a safe distance and provide some ground support...

I use it as both and have great success. More so with the night fighter, it has 2 glide bombs and I 1 shot aa tanks at distance if they don’t move

8:06 they should just be called artillery. the game just calls them stationary weapons. P.s the big circle is where your aiming. the little circle is where your ordiance will actually go

That was just the Anti Air gun lmao, it was a stationery weapon, later in the video, Niccaman actually sees the AA being used and says 'oh there's an AA gunner there too!' it was the same thing

From my experience, you can one shot a tank, with the proper momentum. I use the glide bomb directly on target for a one hit, and if you hit the ground just touching the tank, I usually go for 71-83 damage. but you can one shot tanks, I think. The speed of the plane does matter, though, I have seen that a side-drifting bomb does not have as much kinetic energy, but a straight run will hit like a truck. I lreant how to aim without the reticle, now it is going to be a full-on ballistic weapon :'D

I think maybe what you’re saying could be true but I believe if you have ever killed a tank in a one hit with the bomb the tank must of been already damage because you can’t kill a tank with one hit from the Stuka with its 1,000 lb bomb unless you drop your 4 small bombs first soo most of the time that tank would have to have its tracks damage and would have to have a lil bit of health taken away to be able to kill it in one go with the glide bomb trust me I’ve done this soo many times and I’ve never killed a tank in on go. They already was damage if I have done it in one hit

I still think the 8x rockets are best. They can go head to head with aa guns, can do significant damage to planes after the 6x hmg overheat. And both japanese and american fighters get them. You also dont have to estimate your targets location as much.

I agree. The rockets allow for faster game play and you can really work over tanks and especially AA without getting too close.

But you can snipe any camper with that bomb: go for a speed boost down towards the water, pitch up, and go for the ballistic trajectory. The major problem with the rockets (although I DO love them as well), is the convergence, making you effective at a specific range, but putting you in a possible hotspot as well.

@@bertrandsalaun3721 you can snipe campers with the rockets too...although lately my entire gameplay has been AA hunter and dogfighter so my teams other aircraft can bomb away unhindered. Lower kill counts but more fun

Seam to me the higher rank you are the quicker you can down the other plane , i got downed in 1 burst, so he could take out the whole air force in 3 burst . How is that fair , cant even deploys smoke or pull of a manoeuvre ??

A glide weapon is going to work based on velocity. The big circle is where the bomb would hit if you were full speed. Small one is where the bomb is going to glide to. When you’re slow or yawed they won’t line up. But notice when you’re doing high speed dives they line up.

It's buffed because of the reticle, but still ineffective. It needs a larger one hit kill radius or general blast radius

It had a better blast radio before the patch and was powerful against tank too if well aimed, now blast feels broken, same for it´s strange ways it drifts when dropped. Also the new reticle is kind ugly to look at,

It's a play on the Norden bombsight. One reticle was aimed at the target, the other, was the impact point of the bomb load. When the two aiming points converged. The target was going to be hit (theoretically). This is basically the same thing.

The bolder reticule is where the bomb will drop and the lighter one is the place you are aiming

In BF2 the commander could drop an attack marker directly onto campers, and then you could aim at the marker with your cannon in a plane from the other side of the map - taking people out well beyond visual range.

Recently I had a battle throughout the wake island against an enemy pilot with the glide bomb and me on the AA. By the end of the game the duel record was 3-3. All 3 of my deaths were from his glide bomb but at very close range.

For the reticles I’m fairly certain that the large circle is the main reticle but the smaller one indicates which direction and how far the bomb will drift from the big circle

The glide bomb hasn't been fixed for one shot kills on tanks, it still takes 2 hits to kill a tank and the small reticle is the bomb reticle, to get an exact hit you have to line it up, I love the new reticle system it makes it more skillful

3:24 you can do it in 1st person (i think) but the bomb wasn't reloaded and it was perfectly reloaded when you switched to the 3rd person.

The big circle is where your aiming but your plane isn’t pointed there yet so the little circles is when your plane is pointing in the right direction for where your aiming

I think the more faded circle is where your plane is pointing, but the other circle is showing where inertia will actually take the Bomb

I think the bigger gray circle is a flat aiming reticule that assumes the bomb will glide forever while the smaller white one is the actual trajectory, where the bomb will hit. When the 2 line up, it should mean that you're basically too close for the bomb to stop gliding. Remember, after a while, the bomb does not glide anymore and it just falls, like a V1. You could get a lot of range if you drop one from altitude and you will always be more accurate when the bomb hits at a sharper angle compared to a "flat, horizontal glide".

I'm thinking the new duel reticle is to take time to be accurate at range by obviously aligning both together. Rather then previously with the 2x500lb bombs for example could be dropped with pinpoint accuracy from very far away.

something like rolling up setting off the glide bomb which drags behind you a lil i notice giving you time to get ahead, ping enemy with a few shots flying over, he thinks hes safe cause you flew over and no bombs dropped, but then surprise! sneaky glide bomb

Nicc, some people use it like a torpedo or normal bomb not like you drop it from kilometer away and hope it hit right on target well you can use it like that but I recommend use it like normal bomb

Well in the first video on the glide bomb that you did I think you had an idea about how it was important not to use the rudder before dropping it. Maybe the two circles has something to do with that. Anyhow the two circles should probably align before drop to make the aim accurate. Doesn't the other bombs also have two circles that align?

Grey circle is where your looking and the wight circle is the area where the bomb will drop

The circle that is fixed is were your shots will got from the machine guns but the moving circle is the spot the glide bomb 💣 is gonna land when your turning

FYI they've needed the 2x 500 lb bombs, you can't drop them both at once any more and also aiming is much harder as the planes keep auto pitching up now.

I’ve noticed they added a delay to the bomb drops especially with the pacific planes and the 500lb bombs, before I’d be able to drop both bombs on target with no delay. Now I have to climb higher and lead the first bomb then the second and even then it’s harder to hit both on target.

Thank god they added the Night Fighter which can hold two of these. On its own, it only good for infantry and light vehicles.

They should make it so you have a first person aim similar to the bottom cannons and it has a very high zoom. Maybe the last specialization can be an even further zoom and you can bomb from above the clouds. Imagine the altitude upgrade with that.

pretty interesting. i think maybe you are supposed to send some mavhinegun fire quick to do like 10 damage, most average players arent gonna nove there tank from machine gun fire, then when they start to looktowards the shots they get to see the glide bomb hitting there face for the kill lol

So I figured out if you use the little circle the (brighter of the two) and then put the target in the middle of the little circle, and it get direct hit the reason there are two circles is for if you had the x2 500lb bombs and I think they just keep it there just for bombs in general? Idk but that’s what I’ve figured out and it works a lot better for me that way in my opinion of course

The larger ring is for where you want your bombs to end up like an aim system, the smaller ring is where the bomb will actually go if you drop it in that instant. So you have to wait for the small ring to move inside the large ring to drop your bombs where you want them
