Capt Hoover, held to the highest responsibility for his actions in real combat- yet no general has been held accountable for the Afghanistan with drawal.
At 54:40 How much would you pay for one of those counterfeit Japanese battle flags, made and originally sold by a veteran Guadalcanal United States Marine? I start the bidding at $1,000. First bid is probably 10x that.
"Halsey's Opinion that the Captain had made an error in Judgement". And history has shown just how good Halsey's judgement on all things seagoing actually was. The irony of "Halsey's Judgement" would show up later in the war when he killed more American Sailors than the Japanese by steering his full fleet not once, but twice into catastrophic Typhoons. And of course there was the incredible "Error in Judgement" that resulted in Samar.

@@halojump123 Good point and it's hard not to admire Halsey despite his errors but the guy I felt sorry for was Fletcher he fought 3 carrier battles at a time when he had almost every disadvantage and gave better than he got. Because King hated him he recieved zero credit and never got even close to the accolades that Halsey did. The Japanese had better planes, pilots, doctraine and torps and probably sailors as well but he kept us in the war and then turned everything around at Midway (with a lot of help from the code breakers and a little good luck). I wish someone would write a book about him and set the record straight once and for all my nephew is a Marine and they still talk about how Fletcher abandoned them at Guadalcanal. This is Neptunes Inferno chapter for chapter it had been so long since I read it I couldn't figure out where I heard it before.
Captain Hoover held responsible for his decision, in horrors of real combat- yet today generals are Not held responsible for the Afghanistan with drawal.
@@Bob.W. the US GDP surpassed the GDP of the Entire British Empire in 1916 making the Americans by far, the richest and sole economic as well as industrial superpower in the world.
Lead of what? Us were very much isolationists until the japs attacked Pearl Harbor. At that time, our army had the same size as romanias. The US wasn’t the world leader in anything.
@@bw1889 of course that is understandable when you are in the receiving end of your inferior opponents best moments. However, it does not hide the fact that the USA have the biggest economy, industrial capacity and raw materials of them all.
Sir, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We completely understand your concerns about the frequency of commercials. While we strive to optimize the viewing experience, it's important to note that RU-vid's advertising system plays a role in the placement of ads. However, your feedback is invaluable, and we'll do our best to address this issue within our control. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for more.
I don't know why you are experiencing so many. I am NOT paying for premium and I seldom see commercial breaks until at least 15 or 20 minutes in, and sometimes only see them at the beginning and end. Other times it will be a bit more often, but never more than every 10 minutes.
Another thing I have noticed because I seldom watch the video, and have the browser in the background, just listening. There are noticeably fewer commercials when the video is in the background. Sometimes I get all the way through the episode without a single commercial except for the commercials before and after the video.
