I am 76 and am owned by a 27 year old Egyptian Arab mare! She is the most loyal, kind, loving horse ive ever known. Arabs are exceptional horses capable of learning and doing about anything.
When I was a child I fell in love with horses reading Walter Farley's The Black Stallion series, and I've loved horses my entire life. Sadly I've never been financially in a position to have my own horses, because the amount of land and type of property one needs to support horses, it costs at least a small fortune. I'm also visually impaired, so boarding horses wasn't even an option for me, because I lack the ability and freedom to drive myself to a boarding stables. Maybe (I hope and pray) I'll be lucky in my next life and the universe will gift me, with my horse dreams, come true?
The only books I read was Black Stallion.I couldn't afford a horse either. I ran away to the race track. Where I cared for horses for 30 years. Best life ever.
Yes the mare are preferred. It's said the Prophet Mohammed tolernated only the most obedient mares for his campaigns. They were denied water, but within sight/smell of water. Turned loose they'd ran for water. But when hearing the war bugle, 5 out of a 100 stopped, they were chosen to mother the breed. There's other stories too. The Bedouins slept in their tents with their horse.
Arabian horses are really the BEST , they are so powerful in Long distance run and they have big lungs and big hart which make them keep running , I own two Arabian horses and two Thoroughbred horses and i love them all 😍❤👍
Pretty proud of your satan religion huh? Its allowed?i guess so.well 666 to you to honey and you can Not ruin a horse with your devil logic.Rule, yes RUIN?No.k.
@@lovehorses2669 you are much lucky than mine ,because my first time saw an Arabian when i was 27 years old ,and then i fight hard and got the chance to Belgium to see the horse stud
My first experience with seeing a horse was when I was maybe 3 or 4. I would look out the window and see a horse drawn wagon owned by a junk man. I would say to my mom oh mommy isn’t he beautiful well that poor old horse was sway back and pretty much worn out but to me that horse was beautiful. Guess I was borne with a love for horses.
I was in love with horses the very first time I had seen them, but mostly from my dad, who had a one-man horse. I have no idea what breed this horse was, but this horse wouldn’t allow anyone to come near it in order to saddle it or anything else, my dad had to take care of it himself. As the story goes though, my dad silently came behind the horse, and he didn’t allow enough time to allow the horse to acknowledge his presence and the horse had kicked him in the face, broke his nose, where he blacked out and fell down onto the ground afterwards. The horse had picked him up somehow and had taken him back to the farmhouse, and laid my dad down on the doorway step, where for the first time, the horse had allowed one of the family members to hitch him up so they could take him to the doctor. After they had loaded my dad into the buckboard wagon, and got onto it themselves, the horse ran the whole distance to the doctors and no matter how hard they tried to slow the horse down, he wouldn’t stop for anything. My dad’s mother, my grandmother, told this to her son after he regained consciousness. My dad would tell me this story many times to me throughout my childhood and always said to me, “Remember to always let the horse know you are behind it or you could end up like me,” then he would proceed to wiggle what was left of his nose, wiggling it from left to right and placing the tip of his nose to each of the sides of his face upon his cheeks. I grew up respecting the horses and their powerful muscles and with their abilities of reacting instinctively to predatory dangers. I also read many books about horses, riders, etc., including the Black Stallion and Island Stallion series, besides from various other authors, TV and movies. I also rode many horses but one of my favorite horses to ride was one called Tony, who was a half Arab/Morgan cross, he had a rocking chair lope ability which was quite unique and comfortable for long rides, I fell in love with him instantly and he would responded to everything I had asked him to do. Also, being everybody’s riding horse in a riding club scenario, he was NOT being treated or cared for properly, and if others rode him, he would fight them and not listen to them. If I would have had the money then and a decent place to keep him, I know my father would have let me have him. He died one winter and I cried for him for many days, which lasted a few weeks. We had connected as a rider and horse should do so and had built up that trust between us. RIP Tony…. I will always remember and love you, I wish you could have been mine. You are sorely missed and one of best horses I ever rode ….. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Thank you for sharing your and your Dad's stories. His horse sounds amazing! So sorry for what happened to Tony. I hope some day you find another heart horse.
I owned an Arabian gelding when I was young so I'm biased. They are beautiful, smart, loyal and have incredible endurance as history has shown. I'm not a fan of the western style tricks. Like making them slide onto its haunches and do fast spins. I'd rather see the beauty & brains.
Horses are the best of God's creation, I've loved them ever since I was a little girl. I never had the opportunity to have one or to ride. I so enjoy these videos I guess it's the closest I'll get to .y life long love the horse.
I too grew up on Farleys Black Stallion, Flame, and Satan. In fact I purchased them as an adult. I have loved horses all my life and was gifted, literally with a 1/2 Egyptian Arab 1/2 Saddlebred filly. She was flighty, spooky, floaty, and taught me how to really ride. There is something magical about the Arab. The closest I have found to them is my Foxtrotters.
WOW! YOU have my hair standing on end. My Grandmother died and left me money and I bought an Arabian/Saddle bred! I bred her twice and her first daughter was as much of a Saint as any horse can be.
Very nice! Haven't seen a video about Arabians this well done since "Drinkers of the Wind", which was made by AHR in the 1980's. I've not found it online (there's a breeder vid by the same name), so one of these days, I'll have to upload my copy.
Try Margurite Henrys movie with Orlando Bloom starring.'Race the Wind' i believe.80s he was a kid then Pretty good story consistent with Truth, imagine that.maybe Ride the Wind.i was a kid in the 60s when i 1st read it.
@@katherinepoletto1547The book that Marguerite Henry wrote was King of the Wind, about the Godolphin Arabian, a foundation sire of the thoroughbred. Did she write another about Arabians?
As an Arab and an Arabian Horse owner I hated those competitions they do in America. the Beauty about horses is when you look to the horse in the eye and it’s somehow know your feeling when you are happy they are happy and they do a little dance and when you are sad they round there nicks around you please don’t abuse your companion
I never had horse but yes I can see that in horses, it seems so true. They're really proud animals and I think it's unfair to put them in a competition like this. The way you described relationship of horse and it's owner is beautiful. ✌️
I have to agree with you. The way showing has developed removes the horse from its natural gait and movement. The emphasis on halter showing pushes breeders to breed for certain characteristics which are great for the show ring but would consign the poor horse to a horrible death in the desert. The Arab horse is a riding horse and that is what should be looked for.
@Atlas.You spoke to My Heart.it is Not about Show or fancy Dress.it is YOUR Connection to Your BEST Friend. Arabian horses raised with the ancient badwen arabs along with their kids. So they took the badwen behaviour. They were living in the same tent and considered this beautiful creation as a part of the family. Very loyal very affection they never forget who hurt them. We have another beautiful creation lived with arabs as well “Arabian Mau cats” with long ears and legs and very small face
Ohh.i wld love to see the ccats.loyal too,i bet.i apologize to you but i do Not think Arab horses should be used like this.in a tent YES i was taught that 49 yrs ago and it stuck.Hisallah.kat.
@Mel Hawk Im not that educated on the lines but i have some names on the sires side .Ambara , Wielka Zorra , Indraff , Kalana , Swahlowl , Nazeek , Balala JKA . Plus Comet and Bask . This is some of his lines .
Ahhh! That's my neighbor Bobby Boggs of Midwest Arabians with the National Champion Stallion (when they are talking about him being the equivalent of the Arabian Triple Crown Winner). They are the nicest people with the best horses!!
I was fortunate to have a lovely gaited bay bit o bask daughter. I got a fabulous mule out of her who also is gaited. Best trail horse out of all the horses I had over my lifetime. Unfortunately, due to my own health problems I never got a chance to ride my beautiful Arab mule.
My family has few Arabians horses in Ngaous Algeria. they Use them for Fantasia festivities every time a go there I ride my cousins horses it’s just unbelievable
2:38 I would like to correct her definition of Arabian because it is not correct. Arabian is another variant of Arab (in English) and is written in Arabic as عـــربـــي, so you can either say Arab horse or Arabian horse. And the word Arab/Arabian is derived from Arabic الـــعربـــيــــة which means very clear and free of faults or error. Great content nevertheless!
We love Arabian horse unconditionally not because they are beautiful Brave and smart and playful and love their owner because in the holy book the spot on the Forehead of the horse bring you fortune goodness and the only horse that ask God every morning that their owner love them more than their family and their children is the Arabian horse so that way Who owns them cannot live Without them🤍 🤍Greetings from Dubai 🤍
I'm suspicious on how they get those Arabians to trot so high. It's almost like how they get Tennessee walking show horses to do it. Only a few breeds naturally high step.
The Tennessee Walking horse has a beautiful natural high stepping gaite, but there is a sick, abusive perversion called “ the big lick” . Amd how they get horses to do that his abuse , and people are trying to get it completely banned. Frisian horses and Arab horses have high stepping natural gaites , completely natural no training. Even foals will do the high step .
56 yrs. with Arabian Horses. Started reading horse books before I started school "King Of The Wind" along with "The Black Stallion" were my major instigators. Owned nationally know horses. Wouldn't trade Startip Arabian Ranch for anything.
The Arabia horses the divine there is more then three blood lines an they looked different an the thoroubr bred but when match with the pure animal sometime racehorse is second rate or better if later keeping 🐎🐎🗝️🗝️😜🤓🥰🥰
Id bread a arib stud a tall good looking mustang from the roundup and bread them for racing and youd probly have a great horse you know are mustang from living wild last 100 years had to develope a few endurance jeans
Arabians must be shown in their natural state. No artificial hair added to mane or tail, no nicking of tails permitted. The soring used in the TWH industry to produce the Big Lick only works on a laterally gaited horse, on a diagonally gaited (i.e. trotting) horse it will show as lameness. And why anyone thinks that any horse that can step over a corn cob has surely been "messed with" is beyond me.
I agree. Even though I have 3 Davenport Arabians that are direct descendants of Homer's 1906 importation they have lived a totally different life.(1) they get more to eat than just a handful of dates and camels milk. (2 )not having to run full speed ahead for 20 miles to an all out war, then 20 miles back. (3) not living in harsh conditions as the Arab desert. But still beautiful, easy keepers, extremely intelligent, loyal animals.❤
I had an NDL gelding NDL Bongo, that I purchased in Ct 1982 for the sum of 1500.00 His grand dam was full sister to Bask. His Sire was Relax. Brought over in utero from The Polish Stud by Mike Nichols.. He was the only horse I ever owned. I did Competitive trail and he always took a prize. Mostly he always took care of me. I miss him more than anyone or anything. He was perfect.

HORSEMASTER'SHIP BUNK.the only decent part was the kids.and that bastard about mustangs.yea its ok to let sheperds and sheep by the thousands.go thru.no horse.
I think if a horse show's ton's of potential and he is sacked because he is not quite up to pedigree standards, is that the horse and owner's fault, then who's fault is it? I guess it boils down to who owns the breed and if you feed him organic or not!
It's Egyptian Horse. The first who used these horses were the ancient Egyptians, and the drawings of these horses are on the temples to this day, and among the most famous of these drawings were of Ramesses II with his horses. Also, the bones of these horses have been found in Egypt, dating back to the era of ancient Egypt The name of the Arabian horse was not given to the horse until thousands of years after the Egyptians used it, and the one who gave it this name was not the Arabs, but the Persians. And who saved these breed was also Egypt, because Muhammad Ali Pasha, the ruler of Egypt, collected the rarest breeds and built large farms for them in Egypt. Most of the Arabian horses that exist in the world today are of Egyptian origin, and thanks to Egypt for saving them
Loooool This joke really made me laugh so loud 😂 and good luck to convince anybody that pathetic lie Horses were important only for warriors, and because of The ancient Egyptians were not warriors in any level, nothing would make them care much about bloodline horses or even to have one , they were more interested in cows , not to mention that Ancient Egyptian was sub Saharan 😅
@@iTZzEroK An expected answer from someone who knows nothing about history. During the New Kingdom period, Egypt was the most powerful and largest empire at that time. And read about Ahmose, Kamose, Ramses II, Thutmose III, or Ramses III, and you will know that you are nothing. The first wars dated in history were in Egypt. As for this type of horse, the Egyptians used it in wars for chariots. Come to Egypt and see the history and murals. Read some history before speaking, because you are not at the level to talk about Egypt, because you are nothing, my friend. And read some history about the Arabian horse and know its origin because it was not the Arabs who named it Arab, but rather the Persians who named it after the Egyptians used it for thousands of years. Go drink some camel urine. Non-civilization and history talk lol.😅
My family bred pure bred Arabian my brother Mike VILLASEÑOR(r.i.p) He was a trainer ,judge and general manager of Arabian Horse times …miss my brother and being around Arabian…

Arabian horses come in three classifications Egyptian, polish Basque....Basque is the pivoting factor in the bloodlines...I have owed, bred and shown these great horses..I have LeatherandLace Equine Rescue in Washington state...specialize in OTTB, unruly, emotional breeds..Hot breeds.. Not all horses can be saved, nor do all want too.... I am very vocal about abuse ,neglect in the equine world...These beautiful, delicate, spirited, horses have been abused, more in the United States of America than any other...Reason:The Bible.... I am the granddaughter of John Wayne of stage and screen...
Sorry, but your 3 classifications is rubbish. The Arabian breed originated in the Middle East in what we now know as Syria and desert regions to the south. This is where the Blunts obtained their original horses from; it is where the Polish lines originated; it is where Homer Davenport obtained his stock from. If you are engaged in equine rescue then I applaud your efforts but please start by campaigning to get rid of those horrendous Park classes for Arabs. The gait is not natural, it is obtained by training them with weights on their hooves and is a travesty.
@Willa Belle Absolutely agree. Some years ago I was talking to an American judge who was married to an Australian. Her husband had tried to ride what is termed "English Pleasure" in the US. His comment was that it was neither English or pleasure. The saddle is so far back on the horse that it damages the spine and Tennessee walking horses are exactly the same. It should be banned for cruelty.
@Willa Belle Although Lady Anne Blunt rode side saddle for most of her life. It was only in later years that she rode astride a horse. At least the weight is centred on the horse. The costume class is a joke and gets more gaudy by the year but it is harmless unlike the hideous exaggerated action classes and the western action with the artificial head placement so low. Showing has a lot to answer for.
There is a difference between a celebration of the horse and displayed in a blasphemous manner....The Arabian horse, like other breeds, are prized by king of kings..Most ,if not all, have names to reflect the great honor of this stead....
Then you should know about Royal status and ties to the Arab world....Thank you for your complement and your honesty.. I will foward this to friends in the middle east...I am respected by many...I can ride like the wind, train, rehabilitate the worst of the worst...Pedigree, oracles have shown breeding is everything but there are those who chose to abuse there status, presented to the world as fraud... I am true to my breeding, status, with a background in horse Management/Husbandry, accountant...👑🐎🇬🇧🇺🇸👮♀️
