I love the idea of this David, giving perspective on the split year races and the political climate with the sport is something that seems to be lacking in depth so would be great to see more of this

Definitely would love to see coverage of historic races at each track as the weeks go on, the same way some of the NASCAR RU-vidrs do it. There aren't many people covering IndyCar in the same level of detail. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely. As a relatively new fan of American racing series, I miss this style of videos on Indycar and/or IMSA history because it's precisely how I've learned a lot about Nascar.

@@BiffGreggle just don’t like his in booth domination……yelling over everyone else…..I listen to Indy car radio when races are broadcast, …. I can say the same about f1, Martin Brundle is very good, but gets yelled over. I understand the excitement, but Paul page etc, never yelled over his booth comrads….nether did squire or Jenkins…..nbc has they’re thing hey think everyone likes….that’s my take of it…..

My first IRL race was 2005 Pikes Peak. I remember there was not a single crash the whole day, including the support races. Danica mania was super obvious in the crowd that day. The race tickets were a birthday gift for my dad, I had stuck the tickets inside a Wheldon model car box, and then Dan went out and won the race. I still have the model, box, and the tickets.

The Andretti Green lineup from 04-05 in my opinion are the greatest lineup in IndyCar history. Maybe it's my bias, but This was my favorite lineup, DW, TK, and Dario are GOAT's and Bryan is a legend too

EXCELLENTLY done David. I saw this race on tv that day and I was amazed that the entire Andretti/Green team finished 1 though 4. It's something that is likely to never happen again. IndyCar oval racing is unique. There is nothing like that. It is what differentiates IndyCar from F1. But on road courses, IndyCar just can't compete with F1. And now that Formula 1 is becoming more popular in the US, it's even more important for IndyCar to race more on ovals.

@@kg0173 Indycar doesnt compete with Formula One. Indycar is North Americas permier Openwheel, Singleseat Autoracing Series. 8 Ovals, 5 Road, 4 Street, thats 17 Rounds and Id be happy believe me. @@paulanthonynelson2733 For most of the previous century, IndyCar was oval-based, with only 1-3 road races at best. Only in the 1980s did Indycar become more of a road racing series. The thing is that we want to watch the very best; that is where the money is. F1 has the best drivers on the road courses. The best formula-type, high-speed oval racers are in IndyCar. NASCAR is NASCAR, and it also produces the best road racing in the world. Believe me, IndyCar does compete with Formula 1. It's the audience.

Great History of the St. Pete Race Entertaining with a little satire. Does the Speedway have a PR Dept. Im a baseball fan and usually get my racing News from ESPN. There has not been a News story on Indy Car for the last 42 Days-In That time Formula 1 has had 83 on ESPN News. At 75 I've always been an Indy car fan (Johnny Boyd being my favorite), but its looks like I'm going to find a Formula 1 Driver-Does Bowels Seals Fast have a team?

I like this channel a lot. But I feel David that you're somewhat exaggerating how good the IRL of that era was. And like a lot of people, I don't appreciate your throwing Champ Car under the bus, in that casually dismissive way. The racing was generally better in Champ Car in this period about 80% of the time.
