"One foot on the platform, the other on the train" explains a lot about this video. He is portraying a man who has been arrested and is telling his story while walking to the train, which is taking him back to New Orleans to be tried for his crimes. He faces a future of wearing a ball and chain when he goes out to work as a prison laborer.

I feel that you have been unfair to this reactor as he only paused for a few seconds twice at the beginning and did not pause again just gave his reaction at the end. If you had wanted to listen to the song without interruption then find the version that is not a reaction.
