@@gpwede9855, Outrage is an easier string to pull and easier to sell. Unfortunately, to many Americans are ok with it and keep voting the outrage machine in.
Rep Jackson is marvelous as a human being and a politician. He promised to visit all 100 counties in our state and he did it. Some friends and I had the honor of seeing him in one of his town halls and we are so glad he represents NC. Charlotte is lucky to have him.
When the Red counties* gets to FULL power and there's no non-loyal police, he'll probably get deposed. Unless we are ready for the capitol, with a military (loyal to the constitution and not a guy or a flag) on Jan 6th 2024.
Much like the persona we saw in Adam Kinzinger. We didn't necessarily agree with Kinainger's politics, but his measured, reasonable, calm demeanor made him a welcome member of the 1/6 Committee.
I love the candid way Mr Jackson explains how he discovered that explaining things to people truthfully but dispassionately is the best way to get his message across and that this is what people want, as opposed to the Reps’ fake outrage.
Speaking for many people I talk to, and my own opinion: we are exhausted by all of the “outrage and anger” rhetoric. What a breath of fresh air Jackson is!
What are your thoughts about the state elected official that flipped to the Republican party exhibiting the opposite actions promised to her constituents during her campaign? I am not familiar with the political context unique to North Carolina. We had a candidate that had previously voted for Trump who attempted to run in our Democratic party primary for Senator against Victoria Sparks. I did not believe him for a minute and believe he was trying to be a Republican Trojan horse.
@laryjohnson5736 dude, go troll elsewhere. The liars in Congress are MTG, Boebert, and every other MAGA cult follower. Trump lied more then 30k times during his failed presidency. We have the receipts for them, do you have any proof the OP lied? I highly doubt it.
Agreed he looks like a well endowed future presidential candidate and would probably win with his calmness, bipartisanship and good looks. Democrats keep him in your front view mirror.
This is the first time I've seen Rep. Jackson and already he's giving me Presidential vibes. The way he presents himself, his rational process, his calm demeanor, his tone and temperament... he already looks and sounds like a future President. This guy is going to go far and I look forward to seeing that journey.
Man we really need a leader with composure, intelligence, dignity. I'm going to follow him closely and make sure I agree or at least am willing to compromise with his ideas and beliefs. Hope to see more of him.
I'm not sure how to process waking up to this sensible talk. I'm going to go to work feeling a little out of sorts but in a good way. This young man has a new follower and I am so appreciative that this network is taking the time to highlight the many representatives out there like this that are doing the hard work for us and not making spectacles of themselves for personal gain.
As a part of Ms Cothams district and as someone who voted for her and has for years, I feel angry, shocked and duped. We love jeff here in Charlotte and NC. He literally knocked on everyone’s door in his district when he was running for the state legislature. Love his kind, open, straightforward updates.
Love Jeff Jackson! He was our only hope in NC when shenanigans were going on in Raleigh. He kept us informed every step of the way during big legislative battles. Miss him in our state house but glad he's getting recognition in D.C.
@@HRHDMKYT Pretty close to that, except straight with an attractive wife and good looking children. He has essentially nothing about him that a conservative wouldn't like, except for being a Democrat.
@@josedelatorre2569Thank you for your service and I want to apologize for all of the hatefulness that you may have received on your return stateside. I was born in the middle of the war (68), but I have heard about the abhorrent treatment towards the veterans coming back. No one who was fighting a war, in those horrendous conditions, on behalf of this country should not have been treated as though the war was all your idea and not those in power. Thank you again. A very grateful American!🇺🇲✌🏼

As someone who works at the VA, those words have come out of my mouth. I tell our veterans exhaustively "you have to hold this system accountable, because you deserve the best care possible." I am leaving the VA after 16 of the longest months of my life. The system and infrastructure are antiquated, which puts unneeded pressure on us providers. Thank you for your service, Rep Jackson. Veterans: please, keep demanding more from your Healthcare. Don't let the system get by with giving you the minimum.
I'm not a nurse, I'm not a medical professional of any type, all I did was to volunteer at a VA in Colorado. The care, concern, the respect due our Veterans was missing. So many were treated as if they were whiny children. It upset me to be a part of such terrible treatment. When I spoke out, I went from being super busy during my volunteer hours to not being needed.
Sorry to hear the negative experiences. I am a veteran who has profoundly benefitted from VA care and I have worked for the VA in California for 5 years. I can't adequately describe the gratitude and humility I feel to work with such compassionate, competent, and dedicated folks. I work in outpatient mental health, among some of the most challenging situations you can imagine, and in my experience the social workers, clinical psychologists, nurses, admin staff, and technicians truly honor the values of patient care and service. In my experience medical doctors may or may not be skilled in actively and attentively listening to and caring for patients. I also have the great fortune to work for a VA center that is recognized for excellence in care.
Here's the thing congress figured out: If they cut veteran care, the problem will eventually take care of itself. And a funeral plot, 6 gun salute, and a flag is FAR cheaper than continued care.
@@middle_of_the_roadIf you're faking outrage at all the senseless gun violence, the antisemitism & everything Donald Trump represents then you're a clown & should probably let the adults do the thinking for you.
Sadly nothing will reach the people who have succumbed to brainwashing. There is always a point when they make a choice. If I hear Jordan or Carlson I change the channel. I know their presentation is full of lies. Their raging rants are unbearable. The brainwashed are responsible for choosing to listen to what are clearly crazed people full of hatred. That's what they chose. They are culpable, they are not innocent.
Are you human? Look at the bright line between comments and likes the actual humans and the robotic circle-jerking sock puppets. About 15% might be human. But the google likes to censor the humans. Can you believe the google is profiting from the fakes? Me neither.
I have to keep watching this over and over because I can't get enough, it's so refreshing. He's right, there is a need for, and a high demand for calmly-delivered information. I hope we will see a lot more of Jeff Jackson in the coming months.
@@kelperdude Space lasers!! Hahahaha! GOP is leading the angry and uneducated straight down the "itd be funny if you were only pretending to be child" hole. Cheers bro! Hope theyre serving some sense!
Yay! Thank you for letting the public know this. It is so aggravating to watch these angry, bullying, and belittling people who use their time to pretend they want an answer to their questions, but never give anyone a chance to answer. It is quite rude to demand these people show up to answer questions, only to be made to sit there while these members of congress ask and answer their own questions in the most rude and demeaning manner possible. Is it any wonder our country has such a problem with violence. As a shy person who was bullied and belittled by my peers growing up, these actions by these congresspeople is quite triggering.
Karen, I was bullied in school as well. It's okay to not listen to the angry, outrage, hate machine that wants to destroy our country. I wish you well, my blessed friend. Vote 💙 💙 💙!
Intelligent man Rep Jackson is. We need more people like him in our government. Also, Thank you Rep Jackson for your continued service. So appreciated, and so honored.
Why, because you don't like her, and want to use the justice department as a weapon? That is exactly the sort of banana republic garbage Trump was pulling. It is wrong.
Jeff Jackson is the real deal. Thanks for helping get the word out about this incredible legislator. We love him here in NC and hope he becomes president someday.
He presents like a stereotypical politician to me. The kind that Republicans might vote for. For better and for worse. But he does seem to have some good substance underneath the bland exterior.
@@markschmidt4086 Funny his policies sound fairly progressive, I don't understand you people honestly. You think somehow if you cry a ton you will get this miracle candidate that's perfect. That candidate doesn't exist. When you vote to elect someone you should be voting on which candidate has more pros vs cons. Your perfect candidate could be the next person last choice, because we all have different lives and needs. It's the will of the majority that wins, not the loudest voice in the room. To get elected outside of select voting districts you must reach beyond just democrat and republican voters and that's all the extreme candidates get anymore. Independants don't want extreme voices.
I have been so angry with her flipping and denying her constituents. She should be investigated because I'll bet her bank account is flush with benjis.
I’ve been thinking exactly that. I think she’s been bought. When a rep. wants to switch party, they should go through an election. It’s a minimum respect for the people.
She should have had to resign bc the people voted for a democrat and what she said she would do when they voted for her. Anyone like her should HAVE to resign. Period.
That's just so wrong when she ran as a democrat than flipped, she is breaking her promises to all the people who voted for her, they should demand she resign just like Santos is being pressured to do.
No, in this country we vote for the person, not the party. If you want to vote for a party, not a person, move to a country with proportional representation.
Totally agree. It's connivingly deceitful to state that you represent one party but then switch sides once you've been elected. You've basically threw out your constituent's votes.
Thanks for interviewing our wonderful US Rep, Jeff Jackson! I have been a fan, supporter, and follower for a decade, and he really listens. He is intelligent and thoughtful, and open to win-win ideas and policies. We need more like him in NC.
Short staffed is an understatement. It was short staffed long before I retired from the VA in 2015. The ability of medical providers to provide the kind of care they WANT to provide has been undercut by the continuous cuts, hiring freezes, and such that they can currently only spend about 20 minutes with each patient. If you are a new patient to them that time is not enough to get a full and comprehensive medical background done at all. Their ability to provide in-depth progress notes has also been undercut. Lack of nurses, physicians, physical therapists, clerical support, maintenance, etc. hurts us all. I spent 7 years in the Navy in the 70's and have gotten my care at the VA here for the last 15 years at least. Prior to that I had a civilian provider. Working there and getting my care there I have seen both sides of the equation and it is not very pretty. Kevin McCarthy and his cohorts need to stop stabbing veterans and the VA in the back and keep the promises that this country made to every veteran who gave their lives to its service and protection.
Also getting hired at the VA is a cumbersome process. This is one of the reasons they are short staff. The multitude of paperwork and background checks is exhausting. I can understand the need because of "national security," but most Doctors and nurses can get better pay elsewhere with less hassle.
So happy to have Jeff Jackson representing us in district 14 here in NC. He is a man who is authentic, does what he says he's going to do, and is committed to transparency. I love his approach to politics and many others could learn a lot from him! Also loved watching his videos with his family during the pandemic, it really helped reduce the anxiety we were feeling during such a chaotic time. Many thanks to him and so grateful for all he's doing for us in Washington!☺️🙌
Just wanted to thank you for mentioning his videos with his family during 🦠shut down… i too am from Charlotte and have always liked him, but was unaware of his TikTok, popularity, or even his popularity nationally… I will be going back to see some of his TikTok‘s from that time, so thanks.
Wow. It is great to see a young person so involved. We need to empower him. Please interview him more. Give air time to those who are really trying to help. Give air time to what is sane. Give air time to people who have integrity.
Thank God. A stable, ethical, moral representative. State and federal politics have gone way off the rails as far as integrity and honesty are concerned. So many hateful, evil people wanting to tell the rest of us how to feel and live. We need more intelligent, stable people like this gentleman working for us.
I'm loving Jeff Jackson's videos. Here is one more politician who you can actually trust. Bernie Sanders, Jamal Bowen, Stacey Abrams, Katie Porter, AOC... There aren't many so let's keep up the support.
A cut to the VA budget sends a stark message to those who have served, are serving, or are considering serving. For when your country appeals to your loyalty, ask you to serve in its name, and then turn its back on you when you have body parts missing, have PTSD, or any other combination of ailments imaginable.
It is especially incompetent leadership to shirk our duty to our Vets. The callused refusal to pass the legislation to raise the debt limit ceiling and threatening across the board cuts is a dereliction of duty: imposing unconscionable cuts as if that would be "fair". Nothing could be further from the truth. It's an injustice to maintain the tax cuts benefiting the rich and not pursue a fair amount of taxes from the richest and large corporations. I suppose we need to provide some "dishonorable discharges" with our votes.
The republican terrorist party wants to destroy the US, cutting the budge to the VA causes people to not want to serve and not defend the country, and the republican terrorists can hand us over to Putin.
I moved from New Orleans - which has a beautiful VA and lovely staff everywhere you go, to Fayetteville Arkansas, where the VA is atrocious. I literally am thinking of moving because of it. I have some health issues. I fractured my hip, and it took me over a year to get surgery. living with level 10 pain for a year and a half, really changes you. I should've stayed in New Orleans, but the crime was getting so bad you couldn't leave your house. also, the VA in New Orleans would come and pick you up for appointments if you gave them a couple of days' notice. they had two or three vans going all day. I loved it. since I've been here, almost two years, I've only had one doctor in the women's clinic. the rest are nurse practitioners. 3 of them. not knocking NP's, but you'd think there would be at least one real doctor in our clinic. they overworked the one we had for a while, she lasted 8 months. I loved her.
Wow. Just wow. If you want someone to listen to you, whisper. I'm 65 years old, and I've been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you Representative Jackson. You bring me hope for the future of our country!
This man is hewl, calm and collected. He presents himself very well and I must say what he has to say is right on the spot. My God folks - he is a breath of fresh spring air for a very pleasant change.
Any politician that changes party affiliation mid-term should be immediately recalled, as they are no longer the representative for whom their constituents voted.
@@CowboyConan "Maybe they are. Maybe a lot of their constituents needed to redefine where they stood too." - Redefining where you stand is literally the definition of no longer being the representative for whom the constituents voted.
@@CowboyConan "I was referring to the voters, not the rep" - Unless I misunderstood your statement (which is certainly possible), you referred to both. You said "Maybe they are", suggesting that the rep is still representing their constituents after changing party. You then said "Maybe a lot of their constituents needed to redefine where they stood too". The word "too" means "also", so that sentence is interpreted as saying the rep and constituents both needed to redefine where they stood.
Rep. Jackson is a wonderful person. I can remember him sending out emails in our state and doing exactly what he does on TikTok, and I replied and thanked him and told him how much it helped me understand what they were doing within the state. He graciously answered me back and said he was glad that it helped. I won't forget that ever. How many politicians take time to answer people back?
