Literally discussed 2 of these points with my husband today. Me "learning more" is a form of procrastination. And tired of everyone reaching out for an implied ask. Done and done. I don't consume any social media with the exception of watching Alex videos for my daily dose of insight. Pumped about this.

Quote from Steve Jobs. People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no the the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t don’t ask the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things. As Alex said.. you don’t see progress until you are 70% 80% effort just to see the glimpse of progress… if you have 10 projects going and working on them 10% each… you will be fragmented. It’s best day no to all. And go all in on one thing.

That was actually good advice, funny thing is as a recovering self-help addict I realized that many self-help methods just keep you occupied without being actually productive. If you want to do something you have got to commit to it 100% and prioritize it over all other things, even if those other things are self help methods. It took me a while to realize that but now I focus 100% on my Filmmaking career and I could finally deliver the last months

I've seen this guy's videos on youtube, but have only started watching them. The season of no video was powerful. Tomorrow is day 39 of a 40 day water fast I have been on since I had a moment of clarity in my life 39 days ago. I woke up on a Sunday morning, upside down on my bed, hanging halfway off, hungover, after a saturday night that wasn't even too bad, considering my other wild weekends. I felt alone and disgusted with myself. I realized that for years, I've given my all to everyone around me, and nurtured their lives when they had absolutely nothing, only to realize that when you help people to their feet, that's when you find out if their hearts are genuine, or if they will be there for you when they have the means to stand on their own two feet. I found out the hard way, that wasn't the case. I had a moment of clarity in that moment on the bed, looking out through barely open blinds, where a very bright sun was shining through. Before this moment, all I could think of, was how many people were up, dressed, going out to church, brunch, and maybe to the beach to enjoy their wonderful week with friends and family. And here I was, thinking that I was going to lie in this bed all day and all night, depressed. Then, not to sound cliche, but a loud voice spoke to me and gave me instructions for an entire reset. The first order of business was to fast for 40 days and 40 nights. This was a multi pronged approach to make a radical change in my life. And it had to be radical, or else I was going to fall into the endless cycle I always fell into when I made declarations of change in my life. So, I didn't tell anyone what I was about to do. In fact, one of very first things I did with no hesitation was delete my Facebook account. I went to the store and bought me a 6 pack of Fiji water in the liter bottles, and up until now, I have only consumed water with electrolytes and select vitamins, such as a multivitamin, vitamin C, a B complex and nothing else. I'll have 50lbs. lost in 40 days (at 38 now) and I have never had so much mental clarity in my life. I deleted all of my streaming apps, I bought an Audible subscription and now have over 20 books on there, I go to the local bookstore and have bought books, and have made a list of the top things I will accomplish. Every other goal is not in my thoughts anymore. I gave up toxic relationships, bad food, alcohol, going out to events, and pleasing others. I am hyperfocused on me and me alone. I am not a simp, and no longer care who I offend for not doing things they want to do, loaning them money, or giving them my time. I could go on, but see I have already written a small book in your comments. I just felt so passionate about this, that I hope that I could help inspire someone else to snap out of it, and build up yourself and your vision, and not be the supplement to others lives and building up their empire and not my own.

@Andreabay90

that's actually kind of comedic. especially the accountability coach at 6 pm. I like it. :D obviously, nobody would have time to do all these things, and its not realistic at all...
@TickleMeTimbers
@TickleMeTimbers Год назад
You stretched the morning out 5 hours longer than it needs to be. You can accomplish all those things within the first hour of waking, and put in a 6 hour work day before even having lunch and going on for the rest. Nobody meditates for an hour, working out an hour every day is overkill by any standard, I have no idea how you spend an hour in a cold shower, or why it takes you an hour to eat breakfast. Nobody spends an hour visualizing and another hour goal setting. Nobody spends an hour writing in a gratitude journal, or any journal for that matter, or another hour doing affirmations. In fact the only realistic thing on your list is grocery shopping. A lot of these things are actually 5-10 minute things. So you managed to make a reasonable daily routine look utterly ridiculous. But if that's how long it takes you to do basic things, I am not surprised these things don't work for you. Don't get me wrong, I don't do half the things on that list, but that is so far beyond an outrageous characterization of people taking those kinds of practices on. I could do all those things, add a 6hr work day to it, and still have plenty of time to do whatever the hell I please.
@eazy2195

If something is important, you say no to everything else. That's how I was as a student. I wanted a guaranteed bright future, no struggle, so I said no to socializing and fun. While other kids were chatting in the lunch room I was reading over my notes and finishing homework in an empty classroom, so I have no social skills now. Got into an elite university for engineering, then the Great Financial Crisis hit. I was burned out, but nobody was giving jobs so I could move out. So I moved out to China. Now life should begin as a normal person, making friends, having relationships for the first time, cooking gourmet dinners, never again pushing myself or staying up all night to finish something. Government policy kept changing and people turned on me, I went from running a business to teaching in some high school just for the visa. Life is uninspiring, I have to move for the visa, so no more coffee shops, no more friends, just living alone in some dump of a city in my 30s without any money or career. I'm here to experience exciting adventures, not push myself, I don't want to harm myself losing hair by pushing myself to stay up all greasy and sweaty finishing stuff nobody needs ever again.

Sounds like a good way to realize you wasted the best years of your life chasing a dream that might make you rich but might not make you happy. Grinding out your career should be worth it for the places it can take you along the way, not for the eventual promise of wealth. Life happens and all that work could very well turn into nothing, and you could easily get passed up by a schmuck who was at the right place at the right time. Priorities are important, so make sure you spend your limited time wisely. Don't waste it on cheap friends, experiences, and dreams.

I’m really glad I didn’t stop a few videos back when Alex said that you need to stop consuming videos and get to work because I would have never came across this video. Obviously it’s important to act but I’m in my season of learning.

Love this. So many masterminds & seminars, so little high networth. Glad you said this as I feel like an outcast when I've thought "I don't need to travel to masterminds. I know what I need to do!"

Thank you! I love that 4am to 12 pm productive time with zero interruption. Some of these may seem radical , but what an Olympian does to train for his/her performance is deemed radical also. And here I am texting away on social media when I should be EXECUTING. Bye guys good luck to you all.

Thanks & you 100% right you you have to execute. You can go to all the seminars, read a million books, but until you execute nothing is getting done

1:20, 2:45, 5:40, 7:10, 7:57 You don’t need that much more information you need execution. When you find that you can’t move forward because you lack information, that’s when you go and actively search for the very specific information that is needed to move forward and nothing more 8:48 everything else on maintenance so that you can put max energy into the focus point and actually have it grow instead of spinning your wheels trying to do everything complete focus, sacrifice everything that isn't moving you forward because if it's not moving you forward they're holding/dragging you back

My perspective towards my work routine has been totally altered after watching this video after all others. I am amazed with the blank space. Thank you for that. I'm more happy working, and doing more, also. Ain't that some shit huh hahaha

This is crazy I should hear this after already coming to this conclusions for myself, I kept myself in a position where all I had to do was the work that needed to be done, sure my social needs are lacking a bit, however it’s not of importance to me I get enough social attention from my engagements within my work meeting new people getting to know their story and then I’m back to work 🙌🏼 I got nothing else to do but keep learning and working

I love this, it makes complete sense that the problem is not to create new habit to will make you successful because that’s just an excuse to keep doing the bad habits.. I somehow convinced myself that I needed to workout and get healthy to quit smoking but the reality is as long as I keep smoking I’ll never go an workout and get healthy and becoming successful. Thank you Alex I think it’s time that I quit once and for all and commit to being healthier 🙌💯

I needed to hear this. I convinced myself I needed to keep going to networking events to help build my business and looking back less than 5% of new business came from networking events so I’m taking a major break and focusing on what actually works.

7:11 I love the second one, I needed more execution not Information and once you know what needs to be done, anything that you're not doing that is getting in a way of accomplishing what you want 🤩 Thanks for this Vid, Probs to you.
