Mr Wobbly he has indeed. I’m currently working as an engineer in remote Western Australia (as I speak it’s 2am in the morning - doing night shift). A contractor has just arrived onsite who’s under my care, an elderly gentleman... and guess where he’s from?? Yes, Norway. Can you imagine me now showing him TMF’s vlogs. I’m also bombarding him with questions etc..I actually drove from Budapest to Sweden a couple of years ago, so now I’m in the process of planning to ship my S1000XR from Oz to London for te 2019 summer riding season.. TMFs vlogs have been very influential with planning of such a trip.. even without his drone 😂

“Come all this way and not been able to get it up…..the drone that is.” (~1:18) I suppose having watched a rather large portion of your videos and getting a feel for your personality, I thought that comment was hilarious. Anyway, thank you for taking the time and spending the effort to take us along with you on your moto and aero travels. Thank you so much for these beautiful videos! We actually crossed that Arctic Circle place a few days before you, with our GS and GSA, on our way South from Nordkapp. We can confirm: it‘s absolutely stunning! What we can recommend (because we did so...) is to go all the way to Nordkapp, also through Lofoten and go through Lapland/Finland. Different scenery, but still stunningly beautiful and remote. Best regards from two Germans in Sweden who lived in Beaconsfield - Buckinghamshire for four years! 🇬🇧🇳🇴🇸🇪🇩🇪

I know, I could never forgive myself if I ever came across a bridge like that and didn't actually cross it (a few times!). :D It must be an epic feeling and the scenery is breathtaking. I am feeling a lot better now I have had my Friday TMF vlog fix. I think the BBC weather forecast for the rest of 2018 is likely to be broadcast along the lines of “it will be mainly very sunny and clear skies wherever TMF is riding so all head down and follow him !” You have been very fortunate with the weather both in Scotland and Norway and in the nicest of ways……… the sun certainly has been shining from your rear end this year. Well done on the 88k subscribers

@TheMissendenFlyer
@TheMissendenFlyer 6 лет назад
Well views count more than subs as far as revenue from Adsense is concerned - but that represents very little anyway unless you're in the 100's of thousands of views per video - for some reason having a larger number of subs gives channels credibility with potential sponsors....and those I could do with!

Fantastic. Again so very familiar. The chance I will ever get to Norway is so small unfortunately. Bridge Spotting such a “English” hobby.I recommend Ballachullish Bridge if I remember right it’s of the Girder type you seam to like, I’m a fan of suspension bridges myself nice to get a photo, The foot bridge, I’m 60 year old but no way I could resist getting out to the middle and trying to start it swinging, Love the coast route, I have spent 30 odd years working ferries on the BC Coast. Never tire of the Scenery. I can pretty much always find a spot for a Bike. I do see a lot of European tours pass through.

When I did a tour some time ago to Spain/Portugal, we all had inter-bike comms - supplied by the tour organiser; on my own bike, and with my riding buddy, we had our own inter bike-comms which made a world of difference, and, also came in very useful as a safety feature - on one occasion, big time! I'm sure the standard of b-to-b comms has improved since then; anyhoo, would always go with comms than not. Just my 2 cents. YMMV Lovely views. Norway looks fantastic, like, lots of other great places - each with their own special blend of loveliness and uniqueness. Loved the drone footage; and that was a great catch at the end! Nicely done! GG

@moderatefkr6666
@moderatefkr6666 6 лет назад
PandaPapa146, comms are much more appropriate if you're riding with (CLOSE) friends or partners. But if you're riding with virtual strangers, do you really want their chat? I wouldn't. It's like the rule on ops: "Keep RT to the minimum" or better still: SILENT RUNNING! Personally, I'd much rather ride alone. And if it started raining, the necessary rise in my attention level introduced by the new challenges would only serve to make my day more interesting. The last thing I want in those circumstances is chatter in my ear. Same story with great scenery. One mans vista is not always another man's idea of perfection. In the event of emergencies, there's the mobile phone, or other road users. Or you can sort yourself out without involving others in your drama. Been there, done that more times than I can remember - in all manner of situations from the depths of a snow storm in -21 degrees in a vehicle not equipped for snow, to cliff faces on mountains. No, I didn't film it? Wasn't that type of occasion...;)

Absolutely amazing pictures, I would definitely add this trip to my bucket list. This was not the idea I had about the Arctic Circle on the Europeanside, having been when I was in Canada back in ‘86, north of Baffin Island in a place called pond inlet. It was a beautiful scenic place but no civilized roads to be found. This was the perfect area to ride a Ski Doo LOL. Keep on filming and giving us a taste of what places like these are like. Thanks

@moderatefkr6666 6 лет назад
loke 4880valhall, Morten, whilst I understand you were paying TMF a compliment, I'm personally hoping he wouldn't accept a job with the British Brainwasing Corporation, especially given its propaganda agenda, dumbed down presentation policies and horrendous bias on every subject. This is why the work of independent content makers is so important. Sure, TMF is sponsored by a few companies. And the medium: RU-vid/Google has at this point in 2018 turned into something equally as bad as M$, and it's primary purposes are intelligence gathering and individual monitoring and tracking, funded by advertising and the data on us that they sell to corporations and intelligence agencies. But despite all that, those who take the time to make such great content as TMF does, with excellent production values, do indeed deserve to be praised - but hoping they land a job with the mainstream media is like watching a wild animal and wishing it was in a zoo! I lived in your wonderful (expensive) country for a while back in the late 1980s. I loved it. Lovely people (especially the girls;), ferries, amazing scenery, ferries, midnight bike rides, ferries, snow, ferries, challenging roads, challenging bureaucracy, ferries, and great memories. Peace

Thank you for sharing TMF. The material you've captured and the production values are top notch. You've also convinced me not to go on an organised trip. The idea of convoy riding appals me. Indeed, I'm not sure I'd want to do Norway on a bike only. The prices are still insane, possibly worse than when I was last there. My option would be to do it in a stealth van - with the bike stored in its own compartment in the back. Big van. That way I could stock up on some essential food items before leaving the UK (saving maybe 25%), save 100% on hotel bills, spend more on fuel and ferry crossings, but have the option to use the bike for pleasure based excursions of as long or short a duration as I like, as well as in any direction I choose - without affecting any schedule or hotel destination deadlines. I'm sure there were many places you'd liked to have spent more time. I got the sense that the schedule reduced the holiday experience. A van will also allow me to avoid having to ever ride the bike on the bloody E6 when it's slowed by busy traffic. Personally, I'd want to mooch around the north for a day or three, as well as take excursions up to the tops of some of those mountains. And the only German concrete emplacements you can find along the strategic fjords are well worth taking some time over. However, knowing the Norwegian laws, I wouldn't be surprised if stealth camping is illegal. But fuck that. A parked van is just a parked van, right? The only question now is which bike to take. I think a BMW F650 Strada with semi off road tyres would be the best.

Fair enough Moderate Fkr - each to their own and all that, you do the stealth van, I'll stick to hotels :0) Thanks for watching and for stopping by - TMF....
@moderatefkr6666
@moderatefkr6666 6 лет назад
Don't get me wrong TMF, I like hotels. I've stayed in many of the top ones, some of the most luxurious, as well as some of the more 'interesting' all over the world. Indeed, I used the Intercontinental, Park Lane as my base for a while. But looking at your trip I realised you and your fellow bikers were on a treadmill. Whilst there was apparent room for some improvisation along the way, it was strictly limited to what could be achieved BETWEEN scheduled hotel stops. There was actually very little scope for improvisation or meandering off course or changing direction, other than taking the scenic route to avoid what any normal person would naturally avoid anyway, yet at a potential time penalty! And you guys paid a fee to someone to make this happen!!?? I guess I'm struggling to see the value, never mind the adventure. I guess I also remember a time when cheap flights could be obtained by turning up late to airports all over the world. Miss a flight, and the staff would do everything they could to get you on the next one - without a fee, and on the original booking! I've also travelled a lot in Scandinavia, mainly by car and aircraft. I've parked at my local airfield in Norway, flown to Oslo and then to the UK, not certain precisely when I was planning to return. The car was fine (other than a flat battery) 6 weeks later when I returned by ferry. I wasn't charged. Travel used to be a lot more free, less organised. Randomness wasn't just possible, it was part of the experience. Yes, I've spent a few nights in airport lounges waiting for the weather to clear. But it never crossed my mind to seek compensation. But that was all part of the real adventure. Finally, you may have a picture of stealth camping as roughing it. What most people do is convert an ordinary LWB Sprinter to a fully equipped camper van - inside, whilst maintaining the appearance of a commercial van on the outside. That's the stealth bit. This allows the stealth camper to park anywhere - without attracting the attention of the "NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING" sign enforcers in fancy dress costume. The advantages over the organised trip are obvious. It allows a much longer trip, infinite variability, shelter in the event of shitty weather (although, for me, the adventure only really begins if the day throws up some form of challenge), a base that costs nothing, and the whole experience can be repeated at will, anytime, in multiple countries, over and over again - for no extra fee. It's a no brainer really.

I took my drone all the way to Switzerland and up into the mountain passes to get some amazing footage and only for me to get to the top of the Furka pass and the it decided it wanted an update before I could fly it. Obviously no internet so I never did get the footage. Such a shame as it’s spectacular up there but such is life. Great series by the way 👌

Not sure on the rules using a drone up there - certainly can’t use them in ski slopes in the alps....I’m finding it hard to find places I can easily fly my drone legally these days, especially abroad....

TheMissendenFlyer they’ve changed the law now if the drone is over 250 grams you need a licence to fly it. DJI have not long released one which is exactly 250 grams funnily enough 🤔😂

Awesome landscapes and roads, a true feast to the eyes. Can`t wait for the next ones when you go down the Atlantic road, hopefully that`s the next part of the journey!! Also, your dash sticker it`s a great idea and not daft at all, I`ve seen other videos in which the riders use yellow arrow stickers in their screen, left or right! The Arctic Circle moves depending on the degree of the tilt of the earth’s axis. The earth’s axis tilts back and forth in something called the Milankovich cycle within a range of about 2.5 degrees every 40,000 years. Currently, the Arctic Circle is moving north by about 50 feet per year. I never would have known this except for watching “Itchy Boots” on RU-vid. So, keep the motorcycle adventure touring videos coming.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to compare the information on your channel vs. Itchy Boots. I just happened to see Noraly’s video from the same cheesy tourist spot first. Since I didn’t know the Arctic Circle moved, her mention of it interested me enough to spend some time on Google. I subscribe to both your channels and enjoy them both immensely. Cheers from Southern California.
