The Aristocracy series originally aired on the BBC. Each episode explores a period in the history of Britain's noble classes. Focusing on the decline of this class in the modern world, each tape offers a glimpse into a world only the privileged are intimately familiar with. In this particular episode, viewers explore a golden age for England's aristocracy. Around the turn of the century, Britain's aristocracy owned 80 percent of the land and dominated Parliament. The program features interviews with current dukes and duchesses, as well as with leading historians. ~ Rob Ferrier, Rovi
BBC:
The Duchess of Devonshire, Sir Charles Wolseley, the Marquess of Anglesey and others describe their ancestors' lifestyles and finances.

Thanks for posting this BBC series, for a third world citizen like me living in Venezuela, to learn about the history of english aristocracy is very amazing, specially the ways the noble class learned that it was better to bend than to break...

Thank you, the idea of super rich or people whom wealth is equivalent to country wealth are exactly the same as aristocrats who were ruling european lands. Billionaires today play the same role financially while they kept their names hidden behind the scene, that always imbalance domestic economy and then lead to a great loss. Also there is no way to stop such immoral act except through internal force, and it must be very strong or external force which is worse case because the country become an easy target or pie for foreign people

*Awakening* ... and then they gained a forced empathy for the rest of the Collective, all persons, particularly the Taxpayers, those whom are the bread and butter of the 1% and all Business and Corporate Owners. We are all human and true Class is achieved within, in applying the Higher Mind, in achieving Wisdom. Material accumulation is merely that, Lloyd of stuff, Value is actually within and shared between people. Its a far greater experience of class, wealth, of living, that is found in people experiences and relationships of every nature. You'll never miss a dollar the your heart, like you miss another Soul Incarnate, aka a Person.

So you where a mask so you can pretend to some friends that you hate the system or that you are " cool". And to others another mask that show that you love history/art/culture and maby even conservative values. It`s normal to be like this. We are all complex, but it is also shallow and a sign of beeing " normaly" insecure and fake. People love distractions and love to see entertainment and shows of " the good old days" because it`s a distorted and manipulated view of the past. A distraction from the real life where we need masks to fit in. Today people can even be a CEO and use a Ernesto Guevara t-shirt. The next is maby the CEO whering a swastica as it`s some joke. Reality is that your masks, symbols is not reality. Reality is what you do. Whats " underneath" dont matter if your actions say othervice. The Italian Aristocracy does not have the exact rules as the English/U.K. Aristocracy, there are some differences. Yes, I do have paternal relatives in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England who are part of U.K. Aristocracy. I am from, by YDNA, the Italian Gerardi nobility family of Venice and Naples kingdoms. These DNA connections were done during the Catholic majority era.

A rather superficial introduction to British aristocracy, which was based on land grants from the King, which were heritable, along with the title. The initial grant was given to those who performed some meritorious service to the King, but the abilities of those who inherited the title varied considerably. The title of the video, "Born to Rule," overlooks an important correlative qualification; knowing the elder son who in time become a Lord, they were also educated to rule. Forced to wait until the preceding Lord died to become a member of the House of Lords, the aristocracy was typically late middleage or older, which made the House of Lord politically conservative and guardians of tradition in mores and law. Modern self-made billionaires are not equivalent to British aristocrats in education, a sense of duty to the country, or political orientation. Indeed, nouveau riche billionaires may be intellectually inferior to many ordinary people and more liberal. Nearly all of them owe their billions to having been in the right place at the right time with the right technical skills; they possessed of enough intelligence to use capital profitably, they are rarely learned men. For example, few modern billionaires have any real familiarity with classic literature, the history of western civilization, or the basic principles of American republican democracy -- which is why so many of them make fools of themselves in speaking of politics and social issues.

@@edwinthompson6510 doesn't negate what I typed , her family paid taxes everytime a new monarch came to power , or a new family member inherited the title. If your lady doesn't pay taxes that land will be confiscated by her majestys revenue service. There have been aristocrats who lost their estates due to debt and these were Anglo-Saxon nobility or landed gentry who predate the Norman conquest. So even owing your land for more than a 1000 years doesn't exempt a person from taxes. So no 1 owns their land if you pay taxes, only 2 feudal persons don't pay taxes in England ( at least they are not forced too in their feudal lands the duchess of lancaster and the duke of cornwall) the rest all will lose the land if they don't pay.

Spent force , basically lacking power and wealth to be like their ancestors. He was 76 years old here naturally the pronunciation will be off esp if there are teeth issues. Dont be misled by the dukes old grandfatherly behaviour, this is a luceferian satanist freem ason family , they practice ritual sacrifice. Fyi documentary was done to give the aristocracy a favourable spin , there were talks of abolishing the house of lords etc in the mid 90s when this documentary was done . These ppl have committed everything to get where they are and will do it again to maintain it .
