I feel my heart is being broken up when I see Armenians living in different countries lose their identity. This is a nation who should evaluate his history traditions and culture. But we are always being deleted from the earth and again starting to breathe without air. This is our traumatic experience from centuries ago....i beg you my Armenian brothers and sisters never lose your identity you are Armenian you have always remember that.
Armenians were there before the British came to Calcutta. Emperor Akbar married an Armenian lady who was the mother of Jehangir. As a result, her father who was the judge in Agra got the right to sell salt throughout the north India and Armenians build warehouses along the river Ganges like in Varanasi, Patna, Kasimbazar, Chinsurah, Falta and Kolkata. As Armenia was a small country, Armenians gave the contract to protect their trading fleets to the Dutch and the Dutch gave the sub-contract to the British. Armenians had trading warehouses in Chittagong and Dacca in Bangladesh as well.
@victoria louise You should have maintained your Armenian community race in India. Its okay to mix but we need diversity in race in large number. We have Jews who came from isreal here. But if you all do not maintain your independent race then yall are not fair to your community. You should respect your community.
@@Drzakkubaby-naikhe is from Azerbaijan a country of islamic extremism... They don't know about diversity, preservation, peace... They only know how to forcefully convert people in islam and if anyone protest against it, they will slaughter him... Kindly read about Armenian Genocide in ottoman empire.
Thanks to my Bharat for providing sanctuary and safety and protection for many groups over time. These groups may have inclinations to move out of Bharat now (like Jewish, Parsi Zoroastrians, etc.) but I hope they don’t forget Bharat’s importance in their survival.
The most beautiful community of all times. We want more and more Armenians in Kolkata. We will thrive in the company of ethnic Armenians. By defaults, they are our brethren, so to have them in great numbers is for our common benifits. I know them to be extraordinary people!
The story of Kolkata never starts with the arrival of British. It started long back in 500 BC, Kolkata was a world famous port city (village). It was primarily a hindu/buddhist (& other dharmic religions). Ports of Gujarat, and some southern indian ports were also very well known and active port cities. In ancient times, the Armenians and the indians (bharatiyas) were very close and friendly. Both armenians and indians used to travel to each other's lands. And study, trade, marry, live.
Which port was it . What was the name. Where is the proof. Without the british india is still a mughal empire and bengal nawabi state. If you do not have any proof try to desist from making stories
@@ABO-Destiny long before British entered India the fate of mugals were already doomed at the hands of Marthas. Marathas finished of the mugals..British ended the defecto rulers who were ruling just for sake of ruling. Marathas finished 95% Islamic rule in India.
@@ABO-Destiny "where is the proof" look up wikipedia. Maratha kingdom. Look at the map before Martha rule and during rule. During the maratha rule green map is fully safronized. Also look up who ended mugal rule in India. Answer = Marthas. Indias history is 1000s of years old. It is called bharatha.
There is nothing to be alarmed or worried. It’s nice to know historical fact’s. In India, minor languages and cultures dissipating as they are all moving to bigger cities for better lives and economic reasons. Literally I read somewhere on wiki for every few days a language and a culture completely vanishes because there are no more people to speak or write it, there are those many languages and cultures in India. Hundreds and perhaps thousands of them are unofficial and only spoken languages.
As a Sanatan follower and a staunch Bharatiya, in our conscience, we always welcomed Armenians in our territory of Bharat (India). The christian of Portugal has antagonised many Bharatiya with their aggressive conversion attempts. Still the Catholic churches are doing the same cross Bharat, specially in southern part. But, the Armenian church, the Syrian church and Orthodox if there is any has always thrived and been welcomed in the land of Sanatani Hindu. Armenians has added diversity to the never ending diversified culture of Bharat and has never imposed their idea of religion among any other just like the Parsi. The single important fact why Armenians are always welcomed are that they *are a persecuted community* in their homeland, predominantly by the Ottoman Turks. Just like Parsi in the hand of Shia Islam of Parasya and Yahoodi who fled to Bharat in last centuries.
@@ashog1426 brother, we Indians do love Armenians. Especially the Hindus. We love your association with us, and yes, we always wish your bloodline to grow by leaps and bounds. It's best for humanity.
She is not ashamed. She doesn't feel attached because her upbringing did not happen in an Armenian culture. I am sure she has respect and regard for her Armenian heritage as much as Indian. She has very few Armenians around.
@@teja8086what brings Armenian blood if you have no active Armenian culture ? It's a failure of the Church and the community leadership. They should make Armenian culture more attractive for Armenians and non Armenians.
I went to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, and have seen the first Church of the world (built on top of a Hindu temple of Mitra, which still exist in the basement), where on the wall there is a silk carpet, which was gifted by the Armenians of Chittagong in 1680.
Mithra was a hindu god since when? If mithra was a Hindu god egyptian Pharaohs must have been your ancestors. Cant stand these idiocy , opportunism any more
Obviously it was Bengal who helped Armenians that time who are still residing in Bangladesh and Kolkata ofc. Thanks for understanding. Love from Dhaka, Bangladesh
@@Drzakkubaby-naik Vanga kingdom/ the oldest Bengali kingdom was established in around 1100 bc. You can find that in any history book or even in Torah or Mohabharat
So nice of her to say that, but a regime which do not respect her own people how can they respect all other communities, diversity. In Bengal only one community is identified as Minority rest all 3rd class citizens.
Read the book, the theft of India. It was recorded that Shah Jahan had brought 4000 Armenians from Kolkata , they were forced to convert to Islam. Most of the women were taken as slaves . And men were killed.
Armenia first invaded by the Christian Crusaders next Islamic Ottoman. The true secular people who says it obvious to marry in different community and accept local culture have to be migrated quite similarity with Hindus.
@@siddeshnaik2296 How Armenia was Hindu state armenia far from indus valley civilizaton you need to study world history and Roman Senate the ancient form of Parliament assembly
@@user-yl5zy5tt7g crux of the documentary was that Armenian people who migrated to India because of the Armenian genocide have contributed greatly to the city and have married into the local communities making them indistinguishable from the local population, their children do know that they have Armenian ancestry but now to them Kolkata is their home since they were born and brought up in this city. Armenian students who come to Kolkata for University exchange programmes and these Indo-Armenian do know of their common link but still find each other different as despite being Armenian both were born and brought up in different regions. My thoughts: I know Armenia has suffered a lot in this cruel world, as an Indian I just hope my government will back your country in every way possible, we might not be a rich and powerful country, but we have big and honest hearts and India will always be your second home. I hope this helps you out, have a good day.
This is India know for cultural preservation sure we will preserve your culture but first you should identify yourself so that people get to know more about you and here you are free to do all your cultural religious act
I think some Christian Aremanian try to focus more on the religious community rather to the original root of their ethnic groups. We Sanatani people belive in humanity so welcome all. But this video targeting Hindus it's very shameful..
And no azarbaijan never existed it was created l02 years by Bolshevik and Artsak karabagh always been Armenian. Baku is Armenian. Read history books and see the maps search the truth before you give your opinion.
Is there any connection with Armenians and Nair/nayyars of India?Nairs of kerala (Now they appear as hindus) is showing j2 haplogroup 36 percentage which is common haplgroup among Turkey( Ottoman empire), Iraqis, Azerbajan and white jews and so on.... Nairi is used by Armenians as a first name for both boys and girls, as well as a name for a variety of products and businesses ranging from restaurants to movie theaters, magazines to publishing houses, hotels to cognac, and even computers. In the United States, especially in areas where there are large Armenian diaspora communities, many businesses, including beauty-salons, bakeries, and grocery stores bear the name Nairi. A famous example of this would be the "Nairi" brand of Armenian brandy produced by the Yerevan Brandy Company.
the lost tribe of Armenia ? if they really care about the Armenianship, or whatever they name it that ego -- if they believe it is really a serious matter for them that they can't hold to their Armenian roots anymore -- so answer to this huge problem is there is no so called "genocide" anymore in Armenia, therefore they should simply move back to Armenia, and revive sense of community and protect their Identity of Armenianship. Must sacrifice of moving back to Armenia, will it be a big deal for the lost tribe of Armenia to protect their roots ??
@@pardummukhiya9104 Because armenians origine from India. They came to our region from India. Armenians fathers are the indians. Nowadays Armenia is Azerbaijan lands.
