I think people forget that we were 1 injury away from Cedric being a starter a few months ago! Defence is key to our style of play so it’s important we have quality it that area. Also I’d argue that we need a right sided defender more than a left. Timber has way too much quality to be a rotational player with Ben White and going off last season I’d imagine timber will be our starting LB. That means that Tomi would be our only rotational option at RB and he’s always injured.
What are you talking about. We set an Arsenal record for goals last season. We lost those games because we lost the midfield battles. Rice did a great job of filling in for the injured Partey, but in the games we lost Rice struggled. He is not the ball progressing DM Partey is, and his passing map shows that he passes sideways and backward much more than Partey. You have also not taken into account that up until the Dubia break, Arteta was forcing the players to play a slow build-up style ,which did not suit our forwards at all. This club was built for quick build play where the forwards are receiving passes on the fly running at defenders stretching the defence. Instead, we saw White and company walking the ball forward, giving the defenders lots of time to get back to their defencive shape. Also, Arteta spent 20 plus games trying to turn Havertz into a #8, which is not good at. Once he was moved to the #9 position it all came together for him. Combine that with Arteta finally returning to the quick ball progression that our players are suited to. Our biggest need is a Partey replacement, a CB for cover in case of injury, and give the CBs a rest, a back up for Saka although Jesus could fill that roll and a new #1 keeper to replace Raya who caused 30 % of the goals scored against him through his mistakes.
@@TheGoonerTalkTV I disagree, we were dominant in all the games we lost except for the Fulham one! Score from the great chances that were created in these and we win the league.
@@TheGoonerTalkTV When 2023 ended, we were all lamenting the lack of goals and the wasted chances, we all wanted Arsenal to sign a striker during the winter window! Our second half of the season was filled with so many goals, it became our highest scoring season! Does that mean we should forget about the first half of the season? I don't think so!
I think it’s the other way around. Right back is quite stacked and we have very little on the left. White, Timber and tomiyasu all are right sided. Whereas both Zinchenko and Kiwior are not the strongest left backs for different reasons
These ridiculous Kounde rumours are designed ti fool us into thinking thatt Edu is busy. Mr Gaspar is just scratching his head while drinking wine - instead of going all out to ensure the signing Victor Osimhen.
