Here is a hint for your bedding. If you use different colors of embroidery thread for each room and stitch a short line parallel to the hem on the long side of the sheets, you will always know which is the long side and which sheets belong to each other and to the room.
I was just about to say the same thing, a friend of mine always kept each bedding bundle inside one of the pillow slips for that bed, so everything was always together.
Abby, I take a permanant marker and put a K, Q, F or T on the tag that's sewed on the inside seam of every sheet. It helps! Also i LOVE all white! Get some wispy white linen curtains and lovely light rugs. Endless possibilities!

I think a warm cream paint would work well with the pink marble fireplace mantle. You could wallpaper one wall with a subtle cream/gold/ blush pattern. Your curtains could be solid or with a subtle pattern in a rich fabric (silk/linen/velvet). Good luck with the assessment of the cliff 🙏😍😘
Your bedroom should be the place of solitude for you! Whatever color makes you feel the most relaxed go with that! I was thinking the same thing. This is the one room in the chateau that is all Abby’s. Whatever makes her feel calm, comfortable and happy is what she needs, in my opinion.
Love the idea of the white walls...chic, elegant and easy to accessorize! I would invest in a larger mirror for over the fireplace, gilded....but as large as the mantle. You can add huge potted palms in the bedroom for a bit of south of France vibe. You'll be able to find an amazing armoire and a highboy would be a good dresser option due to its height. Lots of stocky square shapes in the room already with the windows and fireplace, so height would balance that out. Add some circles i.e ceramic type pot for above mentioned palms. Just thoughts. I agree with your choice of the wallpaper, but would pick out one of the softer blues or greens from it to paint over the yellow panels. This would link the two spaces nicely.
A warm creamy of white is very calming. I am never a fan of stark white anything. rooms look cold and people look weird in stark white. Other than task lighting, even my light bulbs are a soft amber tone - everyone looks beautiful! As for you sheet problem - order tags (like the tags you sew into your children's clothing for camp) sew in tags with sheet size or the room name. I prefer sheet size. Sew in the same location on all sheets -i.e. bottom right. Then label your linen shelves with the sheet sizes. So that who ever is helping make beds, it's easy to find the sheets needed each time. I would would also create a spread sheet with the name of each room and what size bed linens is needed for each room. This will speed up the set up for volunteers or employees, or yourself. I've owned a lot of small businesses and 2 companies. I've had to organize a 23,000sq.ft. warehouse for a couple of party rental companies I owned for many years - organization can make you or lack of can break you. Anyway, just my two cents worth. I picture that room in creamy white and touches of gold with a subtle rug. It is such a large room you could have a white couch with pillows and a beautiful throw. I agree with you Abby, I get overwhelmed with too much color and busy wallpaper. You could have a muted mural of scenery behind your bed. ❤️❤️
I love your decision to go with white walks for now. Live with the white walls for a while and the room will tell you what it needs. The fireplace mantle is beautiful and I think you can decorate using it as the inspiration. The rosette in the ceiling sounds awesome. Soft and cozy is what sounds comfortable to me. By the way, what is your favorite color? That should dictate going firward. You have such good taste I know you’ll make it awesome.
I’ve said it before on your channel and I’ll say it again. White walls are the best and you get colour into a room from the pictures, photographs and soft furnishings. If the plaster is rough, then hang white lining wallpaper and when dry paint it white. Old buildings look ok with walls that are not absolutely brand new looking. (This of course is just my opinion and taste). 🙂
I find my ability to project ideas "parasites" by the current decor. I'd probably need to strip at least one wall to imagine which of those wallpapers you are considering might work. As things stand, I feel the space needs light and airy, not in the sense of colour, although that will contribute. As it stands, it seems really bottom-heavy. Otherwise, I am getting toilet de Jouy vibes. Just maybe?
Install beautiful off white raised paneling & mouldings in your Master Bedroom. Wall sconces & picture lights will set the expansive walls off nicely. You'll never get tired of this... you change the atmosphere with colored drapes, upholstery and/or accessories. ❤️🙏
Our family has a Cabin on a Lake, we’ve listed it on occasion. We made it an LLC. (To protect the families from incidents) The Codes, when renting and having guests are so strict! Since you are having guests, workers etc… I would definitely protect myself legally, heaven forbid if something went wrong. So many purchasing these gorgeous properties, have guests visiting for income purposes, that’s why the microwave, toaster, etc…saves from having them out again as well…just thinking out loud😅 Keep up the great work and let’s go shopping again! “When the going gets Tough…the Tough go Shopping!”😂🎉 ps…white or soft cream paint (Not yellow tones) and add texture with plaster before painting…oh sooo timeless! Don’t get stuck in decision paralysis. In the green/ yellow room, tone down and neutralize but go with the wall mural on the one wall. The bedroom was lovely, loved the pink bed, but again, tone down & neutralize. A very pale blush or robin’s egg blue would be gorgeous. Put your pattern in a fun carpet. Good luck. ❤

The success of wall papering is pairing your paint and wallpaper with a complementary shades or colour from the same part of the colour wheel. This will create a more pulled-together appearance from your wallpapered walls to your painted walls and ensure the space feels cohesive and well-matched. Just paper one wall😊

If you want to get white carpets and bedding and curtains and everything you love to be cozy ❣️ I Love the paper you like best also ❣️ the only advice I have at all is put your couch in the middle of the room not against walls (I know it's counterintuitive) but seating area grounded on a rug away from the walls in the middle of the room is why those architectural digest homes always look so beautiful 😊 ❤
True! Especially big rooms. Sofa facing fireplace, 2 chairs on one side, 1 chair on other side with a high side table, maybe upholster in small striped dark blue, green, gold. Long table in back of sofa. I love the paper you chose. Maybe some extra large pictures, large gold mirror. Just a few other pieces of furniture, mix high and low. Ahhh Ican see it now 😅😅😅

You said you want to change them so I’ll say that the headboard and fireplace come across as loud and brassy. Maybe overwhelming? I applaud your decision for a plain white/cream background - to keep it a refuge. I had heard at one time, that many designers opt for that in their own bedrooms, a place to land for serenity. Go with it and make it super elegant and comfy
I agree that the room looks much more calm with the white! I have a large, white bedroom and find that with touches of wood and slight touches of other colors it is peaceful but doesn't look stark and cold--and a great rug helps! So glad to see that you might get the help you deserve for the cliff care from the town.
White walls are great....can get colour from artwork, bedding etc. I wd have repaired ceiling wallpaper and painted white...less hassle. I personally love the pink bed....and would keep for the time being. New bed could be last stage? Think once all is white....will be easier to decide on next stage. Love the landscape wallpaper for downstairs room...and yes wd definitely paper over the door. Look forward to seeing it all evolve....but take your time and enjoy the transformation. Xxx
It's so important you have a room where you can escape and recharge. I totally understand being overwhelmed and you need the room to be for yourself eh. With white walls you can add some scrumptious pieces as you come across them. Tis a lovely adventure even though it must seem such a huge job. You have to create your room that is peaceful and energizing for you. The height of the walls is think make it difficult to have it all of one thing (all white, all paper, etc). I like a warm white - maybe a vey light taupe but you could add a chair rail to give a wainscoting effect with a tone on tone stripe or floral below it. Nothing in your face - just something to add texture. You could then use a similar fabric for curtains. This keeps the pallet calm but adds warmth and texture. Then you can add more color with art and bedding that is more easily changed as you do. Hope this helps a little. It may be more work in the short run but you absolutely need a sanctuary especially when your home is full of guests.

The wallpaper is great that is what makes it look vintage with your vintage furniture, yes you need a bigger chandelier and move that piece of chest furniture from the front of the bed. You deserve to elevate your own bedroom and make it your own boudoir. If the white seems to stark against the paper, you can always repaint it a soft colour. And yes, time for furniture chosen just for you. It needs to feel like your own.

Definitely need a bigger bed and chandelier. How about a simple pencil post king size bed? I’ve had a queen sized one for many years and it looks great with anything, very subtle. A metalic glaze over a painted wall would be really pretty in your bedroom, so would a faux linen finish (textured treatment done with paint). You'll get lots of interest without being overwhelmed by patterns and colors.
I think a very soft translucent pink would be beautiful and calming on the walls. It would also work with the fireplace. I also second the idea of a canopy bed. For the windows, I would do white curtains that puddle on the floor. Ikea has some great ones that come super long and are not expensive. You are doing such a great job, and I hope to come to a retreat one day and see the cheatu in person.
The thing with white walls (slightly off-white/creamy for a bit of warmth with ultra white trim) is that it’s easy to add colour (and texture) without overwhelming your space, even though it’s a good-sized space. LOL! I can’t believe I’m making design suggestions to an artist! I’m very pleased to learn that the local council/government is getting going on your geological issues. Stink bugs are a real trial; you have my sympathies. I’ve always wanted a hidden door! You are so lucky! A bientôt!
I love white walls. I too get overwhelmed with too much pattern & busyness. I agree with another fan that you can add all the colour you want with bedding, pillows, curtains, rugs & soft furnishings.
All white could be really pretty. Extra white pillows, overstuffed chairs with white throws and table, white faux fur throw rugs, white doilies, fringed lamps... sounds fun!
Question - Abby, have you considered at some point getting a baby grand piano (used is fine) for the chateau? Since you will have groups of people staying there, chances are very good that there will be one or more people who can play well. Just a thought for the future. Also, I heartedly agree with the comment about floral window drapes.
You summed it up. It's your bedroom. As someone else said you can add color with art, bedding, rugs etc. There are beautiful off-whites that are warm and awesome. I don't know if you can get the equivalent of Sherwin Williams but the color Alabaster is so beautiful. Its so soft.

I too don’t like bright colors in our bedroom. I have a warm white & the lighting is warm. Have accent pillows & soothing paintings that to us are relaxing. Your bed is imo a beautiful color & if you wanted to have an area rug or whatever you are the artist & I know whatever your choice it will look amazing.🙏🏼🩵❄️ Minus 14 here in WI

Abby I love the pale blue. Can you embroider or use a fabric pen to label the bedding for each room? Also, I store my bedding by folding and stacking the fitted sheet, the flat sheet and one pillowcase and put all three inside the second pillowcase and store all of my linen bundles in my linen closet. It makes it so easy to recognize a full set and if they are labeled, what bedroom they go into. I like the wallpaper you like also. I would paint the woodwork in the blue tone. I like the blue green landscape with the chateau. I find the trees jarring. The landscape is very chateau and you could maybe wallpaper some of the room and sit with it for a while to see if you want to do the whole room. I think its gorgeous.

The bedroom is spacious and has elegant proportions so I would have the white - you will have choice of furniture and cushions or linen to add some colour. I would, if possible get a larger mirror. That one seems a little small in proportion to the room. I'd also put up crown moulding and a rose and ditch that chandelier for a larger one. You can also have quite a large rug to add more colour - the floor looks very beautiful on camera. I like the wallpaper on the left - great potential there. And what fun your evening out looked to be!
I used to work as a decorator for period homes, I love the bed head board color next to the floral pale green and you can take another shade of green for the drapes, work in 3s pattern ( example stripe, floral and solid) choose decor things from back ground colors in the floral paper to chess trinkets for the room , pillowes ect
