Its a great to see Behind The Scenes how these pro riders train for Sprints. Intriguing how they prepare for unexpected situations where non-sprinters had to take the job of sprinting. Brilliant!
I like how they did one sprint with the guys who don't normally sprint so that if they find themselves in the situation they have to sprint they are ready. Great idea, some of these lead out guys and super Domestiques just ride away if it's been a hard race or there is a crash, they become so strong from pulling all the time. Super inspiring!
@@NetomaMusic You would be surprised at what some of us older guys can do since we have years of experience sprinting...I am 51 and my last sprinting session were repeat 1850-1967 watts! Former track sprinter cyclist so I know where you are coming from. The difference with us old guys now is that we have only 1-2 good sprints after road riding so it's the repetitive sprinting that destroys us. When I was younger 8-10 sprint efforts were painful but repeatable...nowadays 1-2 sprints and it's time to take a nap ;-)
I think that's what differentiates a great team from the rest, they challenge each other at training and simulate any situation, so by race season they're well prepared and full of motivation. Also, you're absolutely right, most people I ride with only ride a hard steady tempo, but can't accelerate or deal with tempo changes. Everyone just wants to go home with a nice average speed
I am sad that this team moved to GC racing . Best sprint team probably in history. No lacking in GC knowledge they just not the same ... Bring back the real wolfpack !
