I found what Howard Jacobson's viewpoint on this documentary liberating. The fact he was wasn't constrained to dislike certain strands of comedy- for being sexist rascist, homophobic would be an anathema to the kind of liberal politically correct elite- I found that attitude freeing. Not that Im advocating rascist comedy . Yeah I found his viewpoint refreshing

Public television in the US is superb. HBO has some terrific original programming. There has also been great shows over the years. We're not all bad.

Me and my friends like to go to this little comedy club and mercilessly heckle the new comics, then we wait for them outside and harass them some more. You usually don't ever see em again if you do it right.

@cliffalus it was alright, although they could have cut about half of it out and it would have been even better. I understand it's from the British perspective, but they do mention that they cover both sides of the pond in the description and coverage of the American side is not all that great...that said, there are a couple of bright spots..I'll take Billy Connolly over Eddie Izzard any day of the week. Love seeing his stuff..
