The Asta vs Deku Death Battle Hurt Me 

even though they made asta win, they downplayed him HEEAAAVYYYY, they say that anti magic wouldn't work on quirks but they forgot that anti magic has proven many times to be highly destructive against physical objects as well

One of the WORST battles of death battle. They really disappointed me. They left out half of Deku and Asta abilities while stating that one of their rules was to use them at their strongest. 1 rule broken. While Asta should've won there are ways to make the battle seem closer instead of completely nerfing asta. Made his strongest feat from chapter 140 when there are 335 chapters? Mentioned all of Deku's abilities but didn't even use them all? Completely neglected Asta's causality manip, infinity slash, the fact that anti magic attacks scale with physical power of the magic attack (they even stated this but didn't apply it to the fight.) Like I was really interested to how Deku would use gearshift on Asta. Like slowing down his sword or speeding himself up. Made Asta seem like a dumb brute when most of his fights he does with his teammates. Black Clover is based on strategy and teamwork. MHA is based on how hard you hit the opponent. Asta has a low IQ because he lives in a classist society and grew without school education. Asta has GREAT battle IQ but made him flail his arms around like a baby. Deku is smart kid and didn't even exploit any of Asta moves. Whole thing just came down to who could hit harder. Felt rushed. Just a terrible fight. Didn't use Just a dissapointment.

The result was obvious, though it's weird how it has fajin and gearshift and yet they weren't used in the actual death battle I feel like Deku was handicapped I feel like he could have shifted Asta's speed in the other direction which would have been cool to see.

It was obvious death battle just made this matchup for clicks like they do with a lot of their battles. Yes deku with like 100% full cowling is large island to country tier let alone 120% but even base asta at this point is around country tier and death battle knew that. They even went on to say base asta was dodging light in his sleep. So how did this matchup make any sense

The asta that fought the elves could probably solo 99% of the MHA verse heroes, current asta solos shigaraki, deku and mr All for one himself, even if the anti magic had no effect on quirks, they would just get stabed or break all their bones

Love it or hate it they did do their research even though I do think they should have waited until both mangas series ended but that's just my opinion.

This is what I've also been saying. Asta alone can blitz Deku, even more than what Deku is doing to Shigiraki. As for Gear shift, i think the reality warping is an overhyped line. Realistically he can only ignore inertia which is the reality warping aspect that gets overlooked. Still a great quirk though.

My least favorite part was Asta brutalizing Deku after he already died. Don’t know anything about Asta but that feels like character assassination since I hear he can sense when people die. Like imagine if Naruto after nuking Ichigo when to his chard corpse and just throws a bunch of knives at it for no reason other than to brutalize his opponent. It was awful

I'm not trying to hate or being a jerk but I felt they did not do deku well they failed to mention about Dekus use of Faji-in making him faster then all might before he even used gear shift. And that right there isn't cool either Astra got to go full demon mode when deku didn't even get to use his combination of gear shift with one for all and faji-in. Only giving him his 100% full cawling with 1,000,000,000%. And only giving him danger sense like 4 times in the battle. Same thing with all might man they did both him and Midoriya so dirty. My conclusion is did they deserve to win maybe not that's still debatable. But did they restrict them of their full capabilities during the battle 100% no cap!

I was routing for Deku, but this was an amazing battle, because I like them both, Imagine if Deku could use 100%, without the other quirks, and use the other quirks on top of that. The outcome might still be the same, but, the gap will be a lot more narrow.

The real thing is Deku isn't at his true 100% He is at all mights 100% prime with added buffs. Deku is at 45% = all mights ≈100% With fa jin and gear shift it's close to being 130-150% per all might. Hence why I say this is during the fight with lady nagant when he goes to save chisaki he was at pseudo 100% hence all mights 100

My question is how did deku die? He's a main character and has plot armor, And you'd think he'd bounce back even after getting skewered by supposedly "dull swords" Because like I said He's a main character he's got heck lot more to his story of how he became the greatest hero, The fight he had between asta should not stop his dream from beginning a reality, even after getting badly injured, Eri can reverse his injuries, plus we don't want a broken hearted Eri now do we? This wasn't the best match up, it was obvious that Asta was going to win. They could have done better showing off Deku's quirks. He could have used gear shift to slow down Asta since they mentioned Asta was faster. Also, I think Deku at least had enough strength to knock Asta out if he combined Fa Jin, Gear Shift and a Detroit Smash like he did against Shigaraki when put a whole in his body a few chapters ago.

To be honest, I think Asta would have made for a much better user of One For All than Deku because Asta trained his body more.

You talked over it, but they did mention that Asta's Anti-Magic isn't an automatic counter to whatever it's combating. It has to be or greater strength to the opposing spell. So yes, he is actually that strong because he had to overpower that spell.

I mean, it was calculated by many very logically, that people in black clover are currently hundreds times faster than light. The base for it was the light magic itself, which is confirmed being light speed, and it's not user specific, so all light magic users are instantly on light speed. So, we know that characters became waaaay stronger and faster since the introduction of light magic.

Honestly Im both a MHA and Black Clover fan and I think this battle was amazing. I loved that both deku and asta went all out like how traditional anime fights are mostly like. Deku may have used gearshift to get that sudden boost in speed to rush towards devil union asta but I don't know, this animation might of been done before gearshift was revealed. Also while they didn't use black asta or zatten, death battle fights are not that long anyway so they probably thought to just let him go devil union since it is a more complete version of black asta and for zatten asta still hasn't mastered it yet and for all we know asta could have his own take on zatten. Other than that, I loved this fight and I'm glad that deku's death wasn't as bad as some of their other death battle and for deku it might of been painless for him since he either passed or died when his eyes turned white. Also the track for this is FIRE!!!

To told you a true, I thought deku had win the death battle, because the gear shift he had. But I forget asta is more physical than deku, despise his height, and he had ki sensing (which that let him Dodge and block even light magic). Sometimes I feel like deku start training in his childhood like asta, that way he go to OFA full cowl 100% easy and able handle 6 quirks of ofa.

The amount of idiots I see in the comments trying to scale Deku to Asta even just in speed is actually funny. Asta in his sleep without even being conscious can sneeze his way into a FTL feat, while Deku with faux 100% struggles to go hypersonic+. No matter how you wanna try to put it Lady Nagant’s bullets are not lightspeed even remotely. Furthermore, all the idiots claiming “anti magic useless cuz Deku no magic” fail to realize that Black Clover isn’t all magic, for example idk, THE LITERAL DUDE WE’RE DISCUSSING. He himself uses no magic, he’s just physically insanely powerful. Not to mention his power needs to rival that of the magic he’s using anti magic on in order to be able to do stuff like destroying it, which means his low planetary feats while not even at his strongest so far, are completely relevant. Gearshift doesn’t “warp reality” it bends physics, Asta’s causality manipulation however DOES warp reality, and we haven’t even touched Asta’s non-anti magic abilities like Zetten.

When we get “greatest hero” Deku is gonna body all these dudes. OFA is damn near a sentient being in a superpower. Plus from the beginning of the story we already know he’s the world’s greatest and he’s wielding a power that’s reality breaking.

i was extremely disappointed by the death match, they gave deku is current max potential, but for Asta they not only get information wrong but just didn't even bother to try and get the most up to date info.
