And Ryzen or Threadripper are a better product name? They sound like a teenager's console gaming ID. Coffee Lake is a name that at least has some dignity. Hell, I can't help but feel like the name's a message. Intel saying it isn't worried at all by giving its competing product(s) a very laid-back title.
If amd includes a freaking aio cooler at 800 dollar and 1000 dollar price points for 12 and 16 cores and intel for those same prices only have 8 and 10 cores with no cooler, then they truly are doomed.
SarcasticDragon Gaming Do you know if the Pigs were going wee wee wee all the way home? And if they were, were there any bystanders under their path as the went wee? I have so many questions!
Krishna Ganesh they make more money this way. Little improvements every year vs big improvements over several years, they make more money. They've gotten greedy
Krishna Ganesh They need back the competition bc otherwise amd will reign over the new era of cpus, that's the reason why kaby lake was rushed to come out
Those base frequencies are pretty low for Coffee Lake. Wonder if the 7700K will still destroy it in strictly gaming. The 7700K still tops the X299 7740X 4 core.
are downloaded skylake cores backwards compatible with my devils canyon CPU? I know it doesn't work for DDR3 ram to download DDR4 ram. I didn't see any benefits.
unless the cpu is 4.6+ghz or faster it isn't going to out perform current gen cups in gaming. 4+ cores are nice, but when they add all these cores the frequency suffers and the single core workloads suffer.
I live in ireland (donegal) and nooooo they don't say anything in that way. They say instead yes - Ai and put more "o" everywhere, but definitely nothing like you show us
No matter who's fanboy of what, Intel's direction atm is not good. I only ever wanna choose what's best for me atm. I'm neutral. I have a 4790k, and gonna get a totally new pc overall, Ryzen. Not because i think it's the coolest. Because it's rival, where the difference is around 2 percent, Ryzen cost 500 dollars less... That is staggering. I could use those 500 extra to make my pc overall better than those 2 percent... And maybe make it 15/25 percent better.
Finally! I upgraded back in December of 2015 from a Core 2 Quad q9550 that i used for years. Went to an Intel Core i5 6600k and guess what? Even after all those years and years it's still a quad core CPU. I'm glad that we are finally going to move on past this stagnation
The lower-than-ideal gaming performance on Ryzen is what's putting me off upgrading from my Haswell i5 at the moment. Maybe they'll be worthwhile gaming performance increases with Covfefe Lake? Knowing Intel, probably not, but you never know.
Intel is releasing so many CPU's these days, i feel like they had a lot of failed CPU's laying around and they just named them whatever i9 etc just to make it seem like they are new even though they've had them for years and they didn't make them with the i9 in their mind but probably some special super expensive server CPU's. That they now try to sell as regular CPU's for regular customers... at +1000$ XD
i7 4790K 4ghz stock, 4.4ghz boost, almost 4 year old infrastructure. C'mon Intel, 6 cores is nice but you still need high clocks and IPC for those games that don't utilize a bunch of cores.
This channel has become a joke; kind of like when Newegg's channel fell apart after Paul and Kyle left. NCIX tries too hard and their content is mostly click bait with their horrible long jokes and puns. I've tried to like their content for a few years now, but ever since Linus left this channel has been on the decline.
The more I see Keys, the more I want him to cameo as "that sarcastic but hilarious computer tech guy" in some random blockbuster flick. Maybe the next Mission Impossible? I mean, I didn't see the last one, but... make it happen.
Good, samsung pay was useless to me because it doesnt work with Mastercards. Like wtf, Visa and Mastercard are easily the 2 biggest ones and they only support 1 of them like wtf?
Gonna guess the i5 6 core will cost $250 if Intel has really come to their senses. But they aren't known for their senses so rip. R5 1600 is still the better buy regardless though.
wtf Intel why can't you make anything better than the 4790k. if the 8700k don't have at least a 4.0 your making it really hard for me to want to upgrade.
I don't know why I had ever stopped watching you guys, just from a comical point of view I was entertained. Then throw in the fantastic information you guys throw out
How am I supposed to download load cores? Would you mind giving me a step by step guide on the process, and while we are at it you mau as well walk me through downloading ram. (lol)
What do you mean we wouldn't need a bank account? How would we even deposit money into our PayPal wallet? The person that wrote that didn't think it thru.
The AMD bashing is strong in the comments... Almost like the bashers can't understand that Ryzen puts up a serious competition to Intel's shit lately. (Disclaimer: shit does not mean I'm saying Intel is crap, instead it's used in a "collective" term here).
The size of threadripper is rather large so I'm sure there aren't many supported coolers at the moment. An included water cooler also adds a good amount to the value.
hm... still insisting on the Hyperthreading premium? might still be interesting to see how they compare unless they also decide to put a multiplier on pricing
Intel should make their CPUs cheaper with coffee lake other wise people that are waiting to see what intel offers and for how much will be disappointed
Better performance/watt, better price/performance, better thermals (safe to assume), and now with a FREE AIO rip X299 (pls stop AMD, it's already dead)
Personally I'm waiting for Coffee Lake to upgrade from my 6600k. Ryzen is good but I prefer performance over anything. I wouldn't be satisfied with a Ryzen 1600x knowing that there's a better performing hex core alternative. Not that money isn't an issue because it always is (unless you're a millionaire) but this is a hobby to me. I want the best I can put in my rig within my real world limitations. Since all I do is game anything higher than a hex core would be useless to me. Again, my real world limitations. Spending more on a processor I can fully utilize is more important than spending more even more money on one where it's performance would go wasted because I don't do enough cool shit to utilize it lol. If AMD ever stops playing catch up and actually releases a product that beats the competition in performance then I'm all over it. They're always a gen behind and not a gen ahead. That's my biggest gripe.
The U-series chip will be a 6-core? This sounds too good to be true and tbh I don't think it is going to happen, for me Intel is just making up bullshit again to remain relevant. There's a reason why the HQ chips are 4-core and the U chips are dual core. The U chips needs to remain cool on a tiny device. Unless they really change the game this isn't going to happen. They haven't even figured out how to put a 4-core on an ultrabook and they are going to 6 directly it's ridiculous. I bet they will just change the name of the processor HQ to U or something like they did with the M-series this year. Fucking liars.
