WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Nearly every pet owner has had to deal with an old or sick pet. When the pet`s life becomes miserable, nearly everybody agrees that putting it down is the humane thing to do. Why are some people unwilling to extend the same dignity to humans?

When I was a teenager, I fell off a cliff. The fall appeared to me to be in slow motion. Then as I approached the rocks below, I slowed right down, hovered over the rocks, then gently moved to a stretch of soft sand and landed gently on my feet. Sunbathing nearby was a beautiful girl, who turned to me and smiled. As I approached her, she beckoned to me, then I woke up.

As a male, I think the abortion issue is something that should be decided by women only. I cannot even pretend to have the necessary knowledge or expertise on the subject. I don't even think men should be allowed to vote on the issue.

Always shocked at the blatant dishonesty or sheer lack of critical thinking on John’s argument. He has some audacity to claim others are contradicting themselves when, as soon as he’s backed into a corner, he’ll spin blatant contradictions and weak misrepresentations in an attempt to work himself out

If you tout someone's intelligence to me and in the same breath you tell me that they foster a deeply-held belief in the invisible angry judgmental immortal sky fairy, and they are confident in their beliefs in part due to the works of Lee Strobel, then I have immediate reservations accepting their supposed intelligence, and by extension yours as well.

Bradders Correct. And that’s why those kids who are being neglected by their parents usually go to foster homes because they are better off without those types of parents. Now, I am not pro choice or anti abortion. I believe both situations are in the wrong (lesser of two evils), but if the mother deems herself as an unworthy candidate for being a parent, then as harsh as it sounds, the fetus is better off terminated so it won’t have to grow up in a crappy situation as well as the mother doesn’t have to go through the painful stages of pregnancy.

Suppose a scientist investigates a phenomenon, such as gravity, publishes his findings and states that gravity is caused by a supernatural force that has previously been overlooked by scientists. He might include equations that completely explain this supernatural force. Would atheists then accept that supernatural forces exist ?

tedgrant2 no. Because if he's using equations it falls in the natural world. We have no mechanism to investigate the supernatural. The scientist would have no way of determining that it was Supernatural he wouldn't be able to provide an evidence to prove it it supernatural. . The only way they would be able to get to the Supernatural conclusion is to say there it's no natural explanation and it must be Supernatural and that would be a fallacy and would not be acceptable in the scientific community. Because there's no way to determine that you've exhausted every other possibility

Scientist would have to accept it first. The theory must b tested and replicated then an atheist would have the basis to evaluate and accept the claim. Most atheist are not scientist.Although most scientist are atheist.

boy i’m glad i don't live with baby issues. so much quicker & easier! no. dont use tax dollars to educate about grief. you’d be better off educating public about mortuary science ! just as useless as educating about scared of the boogeyman. private markets can take care of education about grief over deceased if there is a demand. elvis & aliens: that’s a great sci-fi story. a jain wouldn't hurt a fly!

I've talked to pro-choice women that said they would never get an abortion, but want women to be able to decide for themselves, to which I agree. Personally I would never get a abortion.

Anuone who believes in a god, any god, is a theist. Christians who don't believe in hindu gods, roman mythology, norse mythology, etc are still theists because they believe in a god. There's no such thing as Atheist Lite.

Amazing how fast Jen and Matt are to disregard the life of an unborn child. Even once the mother is admittedly dead they still are against the child fighting for a chance to have its own life. If the mother is indeed dead then yes she is an incubator for a new life and no one has the right to murder that life.

And I hope that care and attention is flying out of a barrel at any where from 120m/s to 370 m/s. Then they could keep the brain dead baby on life support indefinitely. C'mon, she went without O2 for an hour, the baby's gone. Sometimes you just have to let people go, no matter how much it hurts.
