Really enjoyed the work Matt did, chasing 'Tim' down his sad rabbit hole. Once again, Matt cleared out the obfuscation and got to the important points. Bravo, again.

Tim in Lansing said God didn't command people to own slaves. Uh, ok. The point is, he provided rules for owning them if a person chose to own them. He did NOT say people SHOULDN'T OWN them. (But apparently it was more important for him to say don't each shellfish and don't wear mixed fabrics.)

Like me, John hasn't been in the military and has never been a theist, I was hoping he could convey that to the first caller who seemed stricken with the fact that Matt is the opposite. When I tell people I've never held a god belief some don't believe me. Why is it so hard for some to accept that fact of my life?
@moodyrick8503

Because their dumbass book says that anyone who denies God is lying or in denial. It's the height of arrogance to claim to know someone's thoughts better than that person. But that's religion. LOL

The Captain is such a tool. He's clearly uncomfortable with the fact that Matt is covering these topics so he's trying to use armchair psychology and Matt's personal history to discredit him instead of addressing any actual arguments.

Just by a quick use of google I found out that cruicxifiction was invented/used several centuries before Tim claimed it to having been invented. He couldn't get even a simple thing like that right. This wasn't the biggest thing he was wrong about but... just saying.

@@Hollypenopepper His spelling is perfect, and use of punctuation is absolutely fine I see nothing wrong with it at all (only the word thanx, and letter i WHICH WE STILL UNDERSTAND). Although, does it matter at all? No. Some people in this world have this neat little thing called dyslexia, and it might be ruining their life just like a disease or something. So cut people who aren't very good grammatically a little slack next time please. Thanks.

A quick google search shows: "Probably originating with the Assyrians and Babylonians, it was used systematically by the Persians in the 6th century BC. Alexander the Great brought it from there to the eastern Mediterranean countries in the 4th century BC, and the Phoenicians introduced it to Rome in the 3rd century BC." It's unclear when it was "invented". How can Tim or anyone else know when or who invented it?

I could be the greatest prophet in history if all I did was take events that had already occurred and back-dated my prophesy to pretend I had predicted them before they happened. Or I could just create a fictional story where the protagonist appears to fulfill ancient “prophecy”. Which is exactly what the writers of the Jesus story did.

Tim's call bugs me because he thinks he's done his research, but he also told them that crucifixion was invented in 150 BC...... it was invented almost 500 years before that. Most likely invented by the Assyrians and Babylonians, but it is a historical fact that it was being systematically used by the Persians in 600BC, then Alexander the great introduced the practice from Persia into eastern Mediterranean countries in the 4th century BC then it was introduced to Rome in the 3rd century BC. So his whole argument fell apart for me at his first question.

I have a story about the lady in the store that encounters a psychic. A friend of mine was cheating on his wife with a girl that was in our class. Another girl in the class was jealous and some how got my friend address and even his wife’s name. She followed my friends wife and told her that her husband was cheating on her. My friends wife went one day to the university and caught them kissing. My friend was shock and ask me how was this possible. His wife told him that she encounter a psychic and that’s how she knew. It was years latter that I was talking with another girl that I was told the story. The thing is that my friend ended divorced and his wife started to visit psychics from that day. I then told my friend that was visiting psychics also and after hearing what happened, he stop believing in that crap.

Oh Tim.. crucifixion was most definitely not invented in 150 BCE. This sort of pseudo-historical invention is just so typical of the BS spun up by christian apologists to lend credence to their prophetic nonsense. It's time you grew up and started reading real science, and not just religious make-believe.

The "prophecy" doesn't describe crucifixion. It describes piercing hands and feet. If it was describing crucifiction, shouldn't it say something about hanging from a cross?

Tim: OT prophecied future developments in Execution Technology. How could anyone possibly imagine that nailing a person to a thing...and leaving him there til he dies...would kill him? Nope, by this definite date I have here for the first time anyone anywhere...way the fuck back then...originated the concept of death by nailing people to things... === People back then must've been really thick. Holy book says "some day they're gonna nail a guy to a thing. And it's gonna kill him". And yet no one reading that, for 850 years says "hey, there's an idea in this book we all study. Something about nails..."

Matt is so dishonest about the ministry. He was not on his way to receiving holy orders. He never enrolled in any tertiary ministry program. I asked him on his Facebook feed a year or so ago. He was doing in-depth research into whether or not xianity is valid. I wish he would stop using the phrase "I was studying to be a minister". He knows that implies he was at seminary, which he never was.
