June 24, 2024. Pavement ants are small, dark brown to black ants that are about 1/8 inch long and are known for nesting in pavement cracks. They are often found near sidewalks, driveways, and in basements. Pavement ants can also invade homes through cracks and crevices in concrete, such as foundations, concrete slabs, and door jams.
The video was taken with a Nikon 45 MByte camera with a 105mm macro lens on a tripod at a few inches from the ant colony .
